- Unboxing: ARRMA Kraton 6S V2 Monster Truck
Today I take a closer look at the newly released Kraton 6S (V2) from ARRMA. A couple of years ago I got my hands on the Kraton V1 and I absolutely loved it, so when ARRMA updated their line of 1/8 scale vehicles, I had to get another Kraton. As well as the new look, they've also made some improvements to the platform that I'm sure will make the Kraton an even better all-round great basher.

Just got my V2 Kraton a couple of weeks ago, been working on an oval track in my back yard, made my first runs yesterday and I have to say i'm very impressed!, I really hammered it with these 6s battery's and 14 tooth pinion gear and it never flipped over once!, so much power haha, I would challange whatevers out there to give me a run on this oval...loving it, and great job on your videos!

I've had mine for a week. It's a beast, so much that it tore it's tires of the rims. Fourteen tooth pinion woke it up really good!

I love your channel, I too have the Typhon v2 and Kraton v2 g8 machine.
I got the green one and I love it. It is my first 1/8 and I tell you its a blast. The speed is almost too much for me as a beginner. The only issue I've had is one of the tires came unglued on the first run.
The biggest issue I had with my V1 Kraton was the steering servo mount flexed so much, but after I replaced it with an aluminum mount it steering is awesome! The stock steering you needed a 40 acre field to turn around but once upgraded it turns as well as my scx10's...lol

I would have prefered transparant windows in the shell though :$ The use of XT90's is indeed nice, though I do still run all my cars (incl. a 6S E-Revo) on deans plugs..

No I did not win the lottery ( hope to one day). Just been in the hobby for a long time. Got my first hobby grade RC back in 1986. I also take advantage of Towerhobbies.com membership, and coupons. Many of my kits started out as rollers, then I build them the way I want. I also sell items on ebay and that funds my RC addiction. All profits from it goes to my RC Fund.
Vas, anyway you are doing a V2 Arrma Senton review? I'm on the fence if I should get this next. I've had my Kraton for about 6 weeks and I'm loving it! Great review, we all appreciate you're videos and down to earth, easy to understand videos.
Arrma has really stepped up their game!! Customers really appreciate that a company can accept it's flaws, listen and release a improved Version!!! Company's like Axial deny any flaws; sell as many as they can; then just simply discontinue the vehicle...💩💨

Finally got my Kraton in today, but sadly I didn't do enough research on lipo batteries. So I've got sweet ass truck, bought a 4s 5000 50c battery which I had to change the connector on, but I don't have an adapter for the charger. My local shop is 90% Traxxas so they didn't have a plug and it had to be ordered. That won't be here until Friday just in time for me to be back at work. Either that or I could drive an hour away to the next closest shop that does have what I need.
If I didn't already have my E-revo I might like to try this truck. I don't know, maybe when I get working again I will get one just cus I love how it looks.
Great video review, Aussie. Been looking into a Arrma Typhon 6s for a while now but i'm also a fan of the Talion, as well. In your opinion which is better...the Typhon V2 ,Talion V2 or Kraton V2? Reason i ask is because i was hesitant about purchasing either of three due to the faulty ESC.

Very very nice from Arrma to make this improved V2 versions of their cars,that's the way to go, thumbs up to Arrma! WHY don't other manufacturers do it also ??? (Axial-improve the Yeti's !!! Traxxas-Put a decent motor and ESC on the XMAXX !!!) Come on !!!

Its interesting how you mention not understanding how some people break certain parts. I think the reason people like you dont break parts quite as often as some if you understand what will and wont break things. Whereas you do drive hard you dont just blindly crash and smash so things tend to hold up better.
I have a blast with my rcs and run them very hard. But im also a mechanic and understand the stresses put on a drivetrain and how to avoid a lot of them. Yes i do break parts but not nearly as often as a lot of other people i know.
Very well said, you are totally right, I also used to break a lot of things on my Yeti 1/10th, torturing it very bad but now I have gained lots of experience, undertand the mechanics better, bought the right aftermarket pieces, maintain it like it's ment, drive it more carefully (still bashing it hard but not stupidly hard) and things are much better now !

You should really use 4-6S lipo, 3S will be very slow.

hi vas, today I went and bought one from my local hobby shop, got home unboxed and found the radio to be from the old kraton not a tactic and tire tread patterns of the old , electrics like esc and motor seem new version, what do u think gives ?
Are they still using the same bearings in the front knuckles? I have the first version of the Kraton and wondered if those bearing are compatible with this one or if they upgraded them on v2. Your Arrma videos are my favorite that you've done on your channel and it's cool to see the Kraton get a fresh start again!
Looking on Amazon, I don't see V2 mentioned. Are there any markings on the box letting a person know it is indeed V2 even before opening it?

What diff fluid do you run in your V2 Kraton? I love my Kraton but I'd like it to be a little more "tame". I'm currently running F:30k, C:50k, R:10k. Still experiencing too much front end ballooning and the rear end feels "loose" in turns.

Just bought one of these as my first rc and I'm so pumped about it. Can anyone tell me if it's normal for this car to make a loud metallic clicking sound when I push it along the ground with my hand? It drives fine but I just wasn't sure if that noise is normal...

Yes, that noise is fine. The car uses all metal gears, so it'll make some noise as everything moves.

Did arrma discontinued the V1. I'm going to order one this week, but I just wanna make sure I'm getting the V2. Is the box the same and is there anything obvious to differentiate the two version while looking at the listing?
Why does Arrma say the max battery height is 46mm? You can adjust the straps to fit much taller batteries right?

My typhon v2 tore up its tires pretty much right away. Still love it tho. I have to get the kraton next. Arrma makes great rc's. Tho motor and ESC is prob the best in it class.
what i don't understand is why they disabled the programming feature
I've had my tyres come unglued on some cars, but tearing up tyres is extremely rare. Last time I tore a tyre was with the BZ-888 from Hobbyking, but they were supper soft and way too thin.

+Aussie RC Playground my BZ-888 acctually are still together. There is a small tear down the middle of a couple of them. I replaced them before the tore. The strange thing about my typhon tires is the foams turned to dust ona couple of them. I don't know why that happened. They came unglued pretty quick. I put a set of duratrax luck ups on it and it performs great with them off road.

The ESC has two connectors which puts your batteries in series, but there are no additional connectors.

Kraton if you want simple but the nero is a lot of fun and really stable at high speeds.

Why? Ec5s are pretty similar to xt90s, no need to change them out. Xt90s are great for this car
