    Hey I installed my down pipes today, change to silicone boost lines, coolant change, transfer case fluid, and adjusted my wastegates with 8mm washers like seen on forums. NO RATTLE and the downpipes are intoxicating I'm super stoked O_O

      Could you share the info on the wastegate adjustment with the 8mm washer? Does the washer go under under the normal c-clip? Cheers

      I googled wastegate washer fix and found mixed forums. I found a member in Niagara falls, Ontario who did it himself and i offered to pay for him to do mine. He referred me to a shop in Mississauga in which I visited. I don't know exactly where the 8mm washers go but this shop I visited knew exactly what I was talking about so I did all my services there that I mentioned at an amazing price. I would recommend, depending where your located, to browse and print out the forums on the fix and visit your local Indy shops to see if they have experience/knowledge on this. I got lucky as this shop was close to my home and I innevitibly prolonged the life of my OEM turbos.

    Took mine to the dealer at 78k said the hpfp was still good. Told the dealer about all of the modifications and they were still willing to check and replace the HPFP if needed. BMW of El Cajon,CA

    If you suddenly get a P0087 "Fuel Rail System/Low Pressure" and you get a "Drivetrain Malfunction" on the dashboard and car goes into limp mode. U turn the car off for a few minutes, Check Engines goes away when u turn it back on, needle always idles smooth even before and after error code, now it takes about 3 cranks to start ur bmw because it seems the gas takes a bit longer to reach the fuel pump ... Everytime you drive off u cant passed 40 miles speeds at a fast paced because another Drivetrain Malfunction comes on but then goes away when u slowdown and hit the "ok" button on the iDrive knob... Then it could just be that the "Low Pressure Fuel sensor" is failing causing any High Pressure Fuel Pump to throw shadow error codes and that all it needs to be replaced!

    This pump for n54 & n55 BMWs do NOT need to be coded. Just perform a clean swap and ur done!
    Highly recommend that for any High Pressure Fuel Pump replacement you should change the Low Fuel Pressure Sensor as well since it connects with the HPFP anyways. Might as well change the High Pressure Fuel Sensor also while ur at it!

    Great video! I know this has nothing to do with the HFPF. But have you had problems with your side view mirrors never being in the same position (glass portion) after shifting from park to reverse or drive. I always have to re-adjust mine after parking and was wondering if there was a fix or issue with this?

      You need to clean the contacts on the motor of the mirror. They get either dirty or oxidized and thats what causing them to miss align

    I wish the diagnosis was that easy for the HPFP. I'm getting only 9 - 10 psi LPFP and already replaced the sensor for the LPF. So if the LPFP isn't pumping the 72psi it's supposed to then the hpfp can't pump the 1600 and higher fuel pressure but that doesn't mean the HPFP is shot does it?

    I have a fuel pump plausibility code. Could it be that? I also get a lot of clear smoke through the tail pipes and smell of gas.

      As for smell of gas you may want to check out the LOW pressure fuel pump. I had the same problem and had switched it out and the smell is gone

    My hpfp iterally went out as soon as the temperature began to drop. I'm at 162k.. not the most difficult install for a DIYer

    Make sure your using the right engine oil..0w-40 or 5w30 turbo....could be the problem

    Say if your data logging and you fuel pump pressures are higher than the normal parameters. I have long cranks sometimes and been having misfires Afrs seem normal for the most part and I can’t find anything similar in the forums was wondering if you’ve ever encountered this e92 335i jb4.     You can change out the HPFP without removing the manifold.

    I am an American living in Germany, and I know absolutely nothing about cars, except how to drive one. German friends of mine land on your channel while searching for assistance and ask me to translate, but it is quite difficult. You use so many acronyms (doi, diy), for example, that I can't even find explained. Then, you cut everything together, which I understand, but you often cut off a syllable or two, and then I'm not sure if you said "consistent" or "inconsistent".

    Can that cause hard shifting because when I drive slow it doesn’t do it and when I push it hard it doesn’t do it either I recently just changed my trans fluid and filter and no codes also my car has 178k miles and I have noticed a less of a response

    Very insightful video! I have a 2008 325 cabrio (E93). An HPFP problem (with slow starts and increased fuel consumption) was diagnosed yesterday in a BMW authorised service unit in Greece, Europe. The HPFP was replaced together with NOX sensor back in 2012 at 32,000 Km. Now the car has 153,000 Km. In your video you mention that HFPF comes with a guarantee for 10 years or 120,000 miles, whichever comes first. Do you know whether this guarantee also stand for Europe? BMW authorised repair unit never mentioned that and budgeted the replacement works at 1,500 euros... What should I do?

    My 08 n54 stutters when I shift into gears at 3000 rpm's but only when I drive casual it's fine if I mash the gas and on top of that I have no codes through mhd or a code reader

    I just got a used 335i I've been getting it running and did butbi notices on the jb4 hp fuel is reading "5" at idle, I'm assuming it's x100 so its 500psi but I think that's a couple hundred psi low. Does this mean my fuel pump is failing?....

      I recommend MHD, if you plan on changing injectors, want to do some lighting settings etc, I recommend BMW pro tool

      Yea i got it for like 1500 bucks because the injectors needed to be replaced and the shop quoted the guy like 4 racks. So thanks, i guess ill get the MHD 😂

    Im not sure if its my injector that's failing or my hpfp, Im getting codes 29CD - Combustion misfires, cylinder 1, 2AAF Fuel pump, plausibility and 2E18 - Firing Cylinder 1. its on limp mode now. Can i switch the injector 1 and 2 to see if im getting cylinder 2 misfire to determine if in fact it is the injector thats the issue? and can i do that without replacing the rings and decompressor rings simply to diagnose? or can i casue damage this way?
    My original issue was after hard acceleration especially on the highway the car was choking / shaking. I have replaced the coils and spark plugs , which seemed to fix the issue for a month. few days ago i accelerated hard again and it went into limp mode and i am getting the codes above.
    Beforfe the limp mode I also got a code 29D9 Misfire at low tank fill level. prior and in addition the the codes above.
    Any suggestions? if it was the HPFP failing wouldnt I have issues with more than 1 cylinder?

      Did you find the problem?
      I have similar symptoms, including regular limp mode when fuel tank is nearly empty, particularly under throttle in corners.
      It only shows codes of misfires and injectors, but my guess is the HPFP or maybe even the LPFP.

      I suspect it was the high pressure fuel pump all along, and it was failing for a while and now completely died.
      I assume you're talking about the high pressure fuel pump and not the low pressure.

    HELP PLEASE.. My car 2007 335i cranks but dont power ON. I replaced fuel pump and relay control fuel unit. I check the fuel injector lines and are as DRY AS HELL.. Not even a drop of gas.. Gas its not reaching to fuel injector; Maybea failing HF Pressure Pump?

    Hey sir I changed out my mosfets and now I get the code 2fbc .. I seen they was 8 mosfets that 644B so I changed all out to 14n30 and now i replaced the other 2 back to 644B and still the same cranks then codes and shuts off fans gets really high rpm

    i have a bmw335i 2007 when i start on cold start the fan kicks in high mode and engine idles/boggs when i let warm up it goes away engine malfunction comes on my screen can anyone help please

    Thanks for the vid. Wish you would have said exactly what to look for when datalogging. Example: mine will hold 1200psi throughout redline and afr's are a bit on the high side but I get zero fault codes 🤷‍♂️. Is that a problem or no? 13.5-14.3 AFR is a little concerning at 19 psi

      im getting AFR's normal most of the time then spikes upto 370.0 ,usually settle back to 14.8 average , error code 29d2 cyl 6 misfire,it wont do it in d but will in sport and manual,acts like traction control kicks in then limp mode,reset by restarting car or clearing with mhd flasher ,im gonna try plugs,then coils then injectors last...

      @@I_Learned_a_Thing ,yep it was just a coil,failing at anything over 2500rpm,was fine below that,obviously to much fuel not enough ignition and then limp mode ,had 2 coils go in 3 yrs,running index 9 injectors still,still running fine with 80k on it

      Exactly what I'm getting right now! Also with a BSD communication error (water pump runs continous) and when I start the car (if it starts due to fueling issue) the fan kicks in at full blast

    Hey i had a code 29f3 thats lpfp sensor, i changed it and now on mhd monitor the psi level stays between 73-75 while im driving and it goes to 83-85 when i turn off the engine! Please help

    My N54 has 190k miles it doesn't have long cranks but has a hard time idling on a cold start but recently it acts like a misfire but i just replaced all my coils and spark plugs so i am hoping its the fuel pump behind the passenger under the seat. i already replaced the other side but i also have it set to idle at 750rpm its mhd stage 2 if someone could please tell me what it would be please do. also before the car would just act like its misfiring it would start to shake if you gave it too much throttle but if i turned the car off and right back on i could drive it again fine unless i floor it again.
    my code would say fuel cut off thats it

      If Coils and Spark Plugs were replaced- have you considered faulty Fuel Injectors. If the Injectors are ground side switched- you could have a bad DME also known as PCM.

    Hello, I have a bmw 2008 335i currently turns on but later on the engines shakes and burble’s then turns off, I have changed my camshaft position sensor and fuel pressure sensor. Can it be the HPFP? In some cases I cannot drive the vehicle and other times I can, but then goes into limp mode with fans going crazy loud ! But later on begins to burble and shut off. Need help !!! Thank you.

      Mine does the same exact thing you described..... changed battery, oil, power steering, coil injectors, spark plugs, checked continuity on fuses.....looking at 50 you tube videos to troubleshoot still

      Ended changing the HPFP and car runs now.....now I have to troubleshoot the fuel leak that I have now because I probably didn't tighten up connectors to fuel pump....also throwing code 2fbe on MHD tuning

    I'm thinking I have this issue. When I start my 2007 335i automatic to warm up my idle needle jumps up and down, below the 1/5 mark that it seems like it's going to shut off. It's about to reach the 100k miles. Once it warms up it runs fine and I'm not getting any codes. I hope that's not the case but if it is do you guys think the dealership would honor a replacement?? I'm also taking it in for the airbag recall this week

    Does anyone have any info on the n55 hpfp warranty? I've heard there was a limited one for California but since I'm in Colorado there's likely nothing I could do about that. Just curious if there's any info. I've been having long 2-4 second cold or warm cranks and some surges during idle as well as shadow codes

    What could be causing my 30ff code ? Like i get the half check engine light when im im 4th gear and i get over 3500 rpm, unless its the turbos, im having a hard time finding the fault .

      Cristian it took me months diagnosing a 30ff and turned out to be bOoSt solenoids. Don't use eBay like I did. Use Fpceuro or similar

      30ff could be a dozen things. It's a low boost code. Could be boost sylenoids, shoddy vacuum lines, chargepipe seal/crack, intercooler connection leak, or worn out wastegates.

      Ive always had this code but its so random, last time i did a small 3rd gear pull and peaked at 12.9 psi (not tuned) and i let the gar get to about 6000 rpm, so i dont think i have a boost leak, besides i have a doc race charge pipe and i just replaced my vacuum lines but the issue keeps coming back. Its weird how if i turn the car off anf turn it back on the car runs normally but as soon as i get into 4th gear and i get over 3500 rpm it gives me the half engine light and when i read the code on mhd its always 30ff. I have spare solenoids laying around im gonna try and replace them, wish me luck

    my n54 is throwing 30FF (boost pressure too low) ,3100 (boost pressure control, deactivation) ,2A87 (exhaust vanos) , and 2C31 (O2 sensor emissions control) however, the 2C31 is not indicating which sensor is faulty. which is making me think that these are all tied together. anyone know?

    I had bad injectors and a bad hpfp, changed the injectors with some oem used ones, and got a new chinese hpfp, car seems to spin the started rather long from cold start(hasnt been started in a week) however once started once, next start up is quick, but theres a fresh petrol smell, however no petrol leaks, also no codes or check engine. Could ot possibly be due to the chinese hpfp?

      You own a BMW and are buying Chinese knockoff parts.. I get it if it’s little things hoses, There are good aftermarket selections cheaper up to oem quality. But a high preassure fuel pump. That’s a risky game my friend

      @@cruisecontrol4400 Interesting, but if you do own the vehicle still I suggest ordering from fcp euro, lifetime warranty’s, I’ve returned 70,000 mileage hpfp, even old Cabin filter you get your money back always 100% returns so it’s pretty much a one time purchase forever, just have to pay small shipping fee and tax less then 15$)👍🏼 I always order from there

    Has anyone ever got a 2b3d code? I got it in conjunction with a cyl 3 misfire. I replaced the coilpack and car runs good but I'm getting a random surging idle once engine is warm and no codes after I cleared them...

      Haven't gotten that code, but had a cyl 4 misfire. Changed plugs and went to all eldor coil packs. Still an odd misfire here and there

      lpa187 Could be your Fuel Filter getting dirty. Sounds like a fuel delivery problem.

    i change my injector to index 12 and coded & the hpfp and have missfire on cylinder 123. psi are above 8.5k psi is that normal?
