+Daggerwin not sure if you have gotten this info before, but you should fertilize the soybeans again before harvest.
Fields require 3 separate fertilizing rounds now for the best yield. Each round needs to be separated by either plowing, cultivating, seeding, or one crop cycle.
"Yield can improved by any of the following: fertilize (solid), spray(liquid), slurry, manure, cultivating cover crop, weeding (as long as the plants are still small)."

I love all the improvements they've made to this franchise! To think back a few months ago, it seemed like everyone had written this next game off - assuming it would have very little difference from 15... But, my goodness, have they shut up now that they've seen just how improved and polished they've made 17! Can't wait for the 25th!
When you leased the tractor it also said 1800 per operating hour I hope you are prepared for those charges especially considering you have been leaving it running when not in use. Update: I reviewed your last video and it appears you need to pay 1300 per operating hour on the planter and 1800 per operating hour on the tractor. By having more than an hour on both I suspect you are going to be in the hole money wise I do not have the game yet but would advise you to be careful just in case that is acurate as the twelve hours you propose would be just over 20000 euros.

So it's not really cheaper to rent then is it?
No I think it's actually more expensive in the long term but we'll see how it charges him when he returns the machine. Possibly in my own gamepolay before he returns it as the game comes out tomorrow.

You shud fertilize your fields up to 3 times during your crop growth , check your fertization map, after evry growth stage you can fertilize your crops again . 1 time 30% extra yiel and 2 times 60% 3 times 90%. if you didnt know. godd videos man, love it :)
Great series so far and thank you for a thorough first look at the new game.
From what I remember when you leased the newest tractor, the major expenses have been paid and it was only something like 290 each additional day. You might check on that because I could be wrong.
i have FS 15 and liked playing it would love to play 17 when i get the chance to save up for it XD, but i like your lets plays keep it up! and thanks for the full playthrough of even the small stuff, i like it even when they are full 1 hour video's and prefer them because you can always continue even where you left off and leaves more content per day for me to watch XD
Never been a fan of farming simulator but after watching your videos I think this game will be my next purchase. Liking this series already and I think 40min videos are a good length keep up the good work

Hi Daggerwin,
You said about adding a loader to the 1445 xl case? If you go onto the farming sim Twitter and look at the ford 8340 fact sheet it shows a picture of it with a front loader so if you get the vehicle workshop you will be able to add one to the 1455. You can also add a front loader to the 8340 by repeating the same process!
Hope this helps keep your money at a high! Not wasting it on leasing!

Two more days. It was cold and windy day today the ground was not quite dry after the torrential rain we had yesterday and 25th October not being a day I spent 2 hours at the Gym, so I did the lawn in the cold wind got covered in grass.
But I had to make sure Tuesday was free after work (:

Such an improvement over FS15 and as much as I love how you can help other farmers it pays far to high. Seems you could make a fortune in this game by hiring people to work on your farm and you just work for others.
we grow soybeans a lot here, harvesting this week and the next for most farms around here in Tennessee. They are harvested when they are about 1.5 foot tall and brown. the whole plant is basically dry like cotton when you harvest it.

For the people complain for long videos, just watch it, if have to go or cant watch the rest, wright the time down you left off, and watch it later, no different than different parts..
40 mins is Perfect thanks for some great vids but I also love the 1 hour ones so just do your thing

I like the longer videos more.
Dagger, you want to travel with the load/pallet as low to the ground so the tractor doesn't leave the ground. If the tractor starts to come off the ground the load will shift away from the tractor. Just for realism :)
I like the long videos, at the shop you can put a front loader on the classic tractors so you dont have to rent one and on the soil composion page you can zoom in on the fields.

You don't tend to spray or fertilise Poplar as a crop, its a woody shrub and if anything a mulch would be more beneficial! Muck for flowers, mulch for woody shrubs. Herbicide may be required through first 3-4 growing seasons depending on weed vigour and to eliminate competitive growth but apart form that, no real need! Not sure about FS17 logic though! (Callum - a qualified Arborist)

you can use the pickup to haul the grain sense it has a hitch on it if you look at the back you can see it
That pickup is a 1970's ford pickup. The dash is modeled exactly like my '74.
That harvesting job yielded almost 50,000 pounds, though it was on the biggest field in the map

When you have the workers set to 'Buy' you don't pay twice, it just doesn't use whatever is in the tank/pallet of the machine. The worker buys their supplies as they go and leaves the machine with whatever it started with.

When you lift the pallets or anything heavy you can lower the weight to make the back heavier to balance out the weight.

you can make better lines when you are in the cabin actually, when you look backwards in the cabin make sure you are in the right position. after that pick a spot on the horizon like a tree or a house that is straight in front of you. Keep your front ligned up with that.

Also buying a pressure washer to clean vehicles is a good product to use/ buy.

In the game settings, notice that there are three levels of fertilizing.. shades of blue. I believe you can do them again (fertilize) after the growth stage changes.
And can u do the longer videos I have nothing to do in the morning than looking forward to watching your videos

When you were carrying the poplar with the massy Cary you load low or it will tip the tractor and it won't be as tippy and won't pick the back tires off the ground

Saw a vid yesterday where their mods already in such a special edition tractors, fendt combines.
U so good at this game
I'm curious if the game has better controller support than they had in FS15. I had a terrible time setting up both my Logitech G25 wheel, and the Logitech Xtreme 3D Pro joystick for operating front loaders and such. I've been hoping they've enable FS17 to have better support for multiple controllers, so that I don't have to jump through hoops to get both of my controllers to work with the game.

Can we have a comparison to FS15 because only forestry was the big change in that and not worthwhile in my opinion, forestry should be a sim for armchair lumberjacks, not something we in the UK can relate to in farming. Thanks buddy.

Daggerwin please make sure that you make this farm massive so unlike 15 we get to see a lot of the machines used not just the smaller ones
dagger use the little New Holland forage harvester which was on the fact sheet because I don't think that costs too much to lease ;)
you do know that if you press tab and select the field/crop view you can see wich field need harvesting, fertilizing, plowing, sowing, etc.... it helps with selecting the right job, think of it like going online and searching a job offer
