Can I beat Pokémon Diamond with only Fire Types using Hardcore Nuzlocke Rules?
Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch the first Fire Type Pokémon on each Route (Species Clause); This includes Pokémon that evolve INTO Fire types, but does NOT include non-Fire Pokémon that evolved from Fire types!
3. Nickname Pokémon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode

I understand the soul crushing feeling of being so close and having such a solid strategy only to have an RNG moment like that, but honestly, how many people would be able to almost beat an entire Pokémon Game with only two Pokémon used the entire time and not dying once? This was still so incredible to watch and I honestly didn’t think you would make it to the final battle with just the two. Kudos to ya.
I finished a baby challenge in Diamond this year and I swear, that spiritomb has a higher crit chance than any other pokemon in the game.
Side note: In generation 4, Rotom-Heat is actually still Ghost/Electric, as are all the rotom forms!

This channel is so good. It's one of the only Pokemon challenges channels that actually keeps things challenging. The others too often just do "Can you win the game with [insert single Pokemon]", where the solution every time is basically just massive overlevelling. But you actually put in the work to devise really original, impressive strategies.
Check out Jrose11 Channel too, I actually hate challenges where the only solution the host make is leveling up, don't even care to do EVs, fly to TMs and etc.

The strategy, determination, and perseverance you put into this is impressive to say the least. The humility expressed at the end even more so. Incredible content! I appreciated the comment about the increased difficulty playing around "Dumb AI". I recently tried a Sorta-Nuzlocke in Pokemon XD and the seemingly-random AI in double battles was incredibly frustrating. It basically eliminates the viability of reliably pivoting.

Well infernape is considerably stronger than monferno so in tough battles like the water gym I don't think monfero could defeat it. plus waiting for lvl 46 for a single healing move with a very vulnerable monferno is risky imo

Spiritomb may have ended the challenge so close to the finish line but this was still a victory in my eyes.

Btw, Rotom-heat is actually an Electric/Ghost type in Gen 4, from Gen 5 onward they changed it’s ghost typing to fire typing, the same happening to the other forms.

I didn't see anyone mention it but at 15:06 you talked about a Zoom Lens, but it wouldn't do anything as it only boosts accuracy if you're slower.
After rewatching, I've come to the conclusion that this has to be the most legendary nuzlocke challenge video on all of youtube. The insanity of the challenge itself, turning a meme challenge into a reality, the crazy strats along the way, the brutal RNG at the end, all presented to the viewer via top-notch story-telling. Guess you forgot Rotom Heat is a ghost type in gen 4, meaning that even in Platinum you can't get a full team when doing this.
Pretty sure the type changing with rotom forms started in Platinum, correct me if I'm wrong.

tbh this vid is a legendary nuzlocke, possibly the singe hardest nuzlocke monotype challenge possible in a vanilla pokemon game.
I appreciate seeing the loss. Its honestly more interesting than seeing you get lucky and crit your way through. Only thing I'd say, is reset for a starter with decent enough IV's for the run you'll put it through. Maybe just cap it to like 10 resets so your stream doesnt get bored.
