Having cooled off a little, I know I was less upset about Korp than I was about the sad return for Ullmark. The 7th pick - Spectacular! Chychrun - Still really good, but Zadorov is much more our cup of tea. The thought of him lighting up T-chuck next season gives me something to look forward to in these Death Valley days of NHL August. The 25th pick - Underwhelming, but that frees up the 5M that was supposedly the point of the trade. We could have used it on say, Marchessault 42-27-69. I didn't remember he was a Panther before Vegas took him in the Ex Draft, until I looked up how to spell his name. The 25th pick and Korpisalo's bloated contract. Blecch! We should have gotten something for taking that Dead Whale on. Ottawa was probably going to buy him out and we could have gotten him for 1 year and a prove it contract. There were other options as well with a lot less time and money. And Kastelic, another bottom six winger that can't score. Correct me if I'm wrong. but I think we already have a few of those. Also I'm from Islesboro, an island off the Maine coast, so Salty is actually not that far off...
I enjoy you and Mick your knowledge and insight into hockey is superb. I moved from northeast Ma. in '88 to coastal Georgia, always a huge B's fan we recently got an ECHL team, affiliate of Vegas...life is good.
We always had a great defenseman for years but after big Z retired it hasn't happened from bobby Orr to brad park to Ray to big Z I think we are hurting not having the next big name defenseman
Tbh sports series I watch, often is behind the b, last one I seen was probably the dynasty….. but I mean that was kinda a joke. As far as the olympics summer ones are great but 2026 is what I’ll be signed up for, winter ones always more enjoyable to watch for me
@rodneydecormier1504 my point is a good or even great goalkeeper is measurably better in front of great defense. A crappy goalkeeper would still be better but wouldn't win you a cup.
As a Bruins fan, maybe on paper, but they haven’t proved anything yet. McAvoy was trash last year. Hurricanes had the best defense last season - look what happened to them.
yes they do have the best defense in the nhl,but the nhl is all about offense-tell harry sinden.they keep listening to his nonsense that teams are built from the goalie-defense out.they have to change their philosophy and make a deal for la's arthur kaliyev who they should have drafted but didn't.
He is solid. He is asked to do too much and carry the whole d on his back. If u think he sucks you are on some major crack rock. He isnt perfect. But he has had 2 cover 4 his partners mistakes for a while. He is an above average dman that most teams would want.
Idk if he’s overrated. Maybe slightly overpaid. But still one of the better 2 way defensemen in the entire league. He just doesn’t get put in that conversation enough because he actually plays defense unlike most of the players that receive all the awards lol

McAvoy is a very overrated player. He's average at best handling the puck and his offense sucks! He's a giveaway machine! Shall I go on...

He's in the top ten d men in the league. He did have a lousy postseason last year he will have a great season this year
