I have a p220, and many 1911s. The 1911 has a better trigger.. but. The p220 is lighter, feeds every thing you put in it. If I had to take one to war, it would be a p220.

I'd still take my Ruger 1911 to war, because I can make 100 yard shots with that one all day long- might save my life in a real war if I have to switch to my pistol for whatever reason...

I have the p220 and 1911's and I love them both, but for carry I prefer my p220. The P220 and the 1911's will never be obsolete. Both great guns. Thanks for sharing

This is a tough one, I love my 1911, but I think the ultimate handgun is the p220. I will say that I've had quite a few of both over the years, but the older sigs are much smoother and better than the newer ones. I will say that the 1911 is great except for the weight, but if I had to choose one handgun it would be the sig p220

I love both these guns, but I was more impressed not with the gun, but my performance with said gun- a Glock 21. Had upgraded sights and sandpaper grip, but it was almost as easy to shoot as a Glock 17 (9mm version). Never thought I could shoot a .45 that good (fast, accurate).

The 1911 is a better target pistol. It's sensitive though. The P220 is a better duty/every day carry gun. It's less sensitive and eats nearly any ammo and is machined to combat tolerances.

I love my Ruger SR1911 5". Got it for Christmas back in 2015 and the first rounds I fed it were inexpensive aluminum case Blazer and no failures. To date still no failures. My buddy who was a weapons specialist in Iraq and unfortunately saw some nasty stuff took me out to his shooting spot and couldn't believe how tight the SR1911 is. He said he was going to sell his Kimber and get one! Now I want to get the SR1911 Officer .45 for carry options. I saw your other video comparing 3" and 5" 1911 ballistics. Almost looks like my old stomping ground in Missouri. Thanks for the videos, just subscribed.

I have a sig 226 MK25 and like you I find the way it finds itself back on target to be phenomenal.
I had a ruger commander and put 4 clips thru it. Then a FNX45 Tactical fell in my lap. I ended up donating the commander for a good cause. The 911 feels better in hand for sure. Such a great gun then and now. 💯🤟

Great comparison, I own two 1911s a custom full size that I built myself and a SA stainless champion that I shoot very well with. One of my first 45 acp pistols was a Colt light weight commander and I shot that gun for many years and then I moved on to the wonder 9s and wanted to go back to a 45 acp and bought a Sig P220 and I loved the way it felt in my hand but because of it's high bore axis for me it was one of the most unpleasant pistols I have ever shot. The Colt LW commander was so much more pleasant to shoot than the Sig and I sold the Sig and bought another Colt 1911 and I have never shot another Sig since.

When you did the accuracy, you counted one of the 1911 holes for the SIG. Not counting your fliers, your group was tighter with the SIG. Actually, even the flier was better. It wasn't as far off with the SIG.

Love both mine. Love 45acp with the right defensive ammo and test all that I carry for defense as well. Both are quality guns that shoot well no doubt about it . NO INSULT TO YOU AT ALL but i find the complete opposite in shooting as far as "felt recoil" or at least my definition of "felt recoil" for me "wiggly" also means more "pain" or recoil or jumping while shooting. To me the opposite is true of a heavy ass all steel non alluvium frame 1911. They are the very best to shoot for comfort and follow up shots because the weight takes away the recoil compared to a light=weight framed gun. Just carrying them can suck on your hips back and body if you carry them for longer periods of time. Great video and thank You sir.

Wouldnt go to war with a 1911 simply because it has a grip safety. I cant imagine being injured and a grip safety being the reason i cant take a shot

Yes I have shot many other 1911's on the channel, and I actually made a 1911 playlist on the channel if you would like to easily access them all. Yes the Ruger is my favorite so far, and yes it eats anything I feed it, including steel, and has never jammed. The same could be said for Tisas and Rock Island, which are much more affordable and have been featured on the channel as well.
