They came with a gun I got years ago. They are Pachmayr grips- I have seen them on many websites. So just look around at a few places that sells 1911 grips and you'll find them, or google Pachmayr 1911 grips.
I have a Service I got about two weeks ago for about $360 from Bud's. Mine came in the plastic case with two magazines. I have a third now because this will be come my daily carry on the rural property I live on. I bought double diamond wood grips and they really look good on it. It comes with a flat mainspring housing like the 1911 had but without the lanyard loop. Got the arched mainspring housing on the way. It compares very well to both a 1990's manufacture Ruger Military Model I have had since then and a 1943 Ithaca 1911 I now have.
I have the tisas 1911 A1. Love the pistol. Sights ok. Thats what i grew up with. Only issue i had was after 1st shooting while cleaning notice corrosion inside plug and on that end of the recoil spring. Pistol had just arrived at gun store before i bought it. It has no problem running any of the 6 different kind of mags i have laying around. A couple as old as 30 years that i had problems functioning in a colt commander. THANKS
I just got my first Tisas 1911, new/used from a fishing buddy, great price! He shot one magazine of 7, didn't care for the sights, and now it's mine. I love it! It's a 9mm, gray/olive green color, and it feels so good to shoot! The .45 is next. Wahi' Valleys
The Tisas 1911 Army is the attempt to produce the "Service" in a closer rendition to a WW2 era 1911A1 hence the curved back strap and Cerakote finish to simulate Parkerization and brown plastic grips. Both are excellent "no frills" level 1911s, but the Army Model is not a lower grade, but a market strategy to appeal to nostalgia and WW2 collectors on a budget.
I put faux ivory on mine and it looks so good.LS grips faux ivory on Amazon.Damn it looks good. Both the framed and slide are forged by the way...saw some idiot in the comments saying it was soft metal...
I bought this pistol about 18 months ago . $330.00 + FFL and sales tax. Best money spent in value since I bought a Ruger Old Army in 1974 for $ 150.00 i( still got it. And one in stainless). Great deal. I have original World War One and Two a 1911 and a1911-A1 plus other expensive1911s to compare to this . The Tisas equals the reliability and accuracy of original GI 1911s and, in many cases is much more reliable than some custom , high tech, damned expensive 1911s. I would like better sights on this but I am used to GI sights and unlike my original and historic 1911s modifying these is OK. I have gotten some good deals on new and used firearms. This is one of th best. Any American Manufacturer would charge twice the money for a pistol this well manufactured and as reliable as mine has been. (Edit: deleted stupid redundancy)
I just picked up the "army" in 9mm. Has an ugly greenish parkerized finish so I'm gonna throw some od green hogue finger groove grips on it. It's tight, accurate, 100% reliable out of the box, and extremely hard to miss with even when completely neglecting the fundamentals. I don't have a trigger guage but I know it's just under 3.5lbs. If I had to hand one of my pistols to a new shooter and expect them to hit with it this would be the gun. Really a sweet little gun at any price point but at $399 out the door I didn't have a choice.
I have the govt. model Tisas. I actually got it out when you said gritty compared to this one because I didn't remember that lol. Not gritty at all. My LGS had both the govt. and service for the same price. I had been wanting a govt. but wallet couldn't agree to Colt lol. I love my 1911's too. Good video, thanks.
We featured a Colt Defender a while back on the channel; nice gun. So far Colt and Ruger have been my favorites, but I guess ths price tag should reflect such anyway by comparison. This particular Tisas was very nice, and I also like the Rock Islands (for the price).
@@BuckeyeBallistics yes, I have a full size 9mm Rock Island, the upgraded with better sights, skeletonized hammer and trigger, extended beaver tail grip safety. I've had it for a couple years, paid less than the Covid Tisas. Wanted me a govt. though and my local had it lol. You know how that is.
I really like those grips I have the same pachmayr grips on my 1911 Ronan 10 mm I'm telling you those pachmayr grips make the difference I have the B45R coming into days and I'm going to put those grips on that one also.
I have the same grips pachmayr grips Springfield armory Ronin 1911 and I truly think they totally make a difference they suck up The recoil better than any other grips.
So I just got same 1911 and loved your grip add on I found them got the rose wood one looks to be same I don't have huge hands does it help our create a larger grip
I just got my 1911 A1 last week. I just went to our local gun store to just check it out and came out owning one. I was assigned to a 1911 for six years in my service time. I just could not let it go. I read that TISAS were made very well and is true. I admired the machining part of it, perfect out of the box, easy to clean, and right on target with the sights. I bought an 8 round Pro Mag at Academy and is way easier to load your rounds, way easier than the original. The spring is softer. Easier on your thumb. $429.00. Can't beat a well-made 1911 A1 for this price.
I hope you continue to have good luck with your pro mags, I had three and they ended up with ftf every time they were used in two different 1911’s. I kept them for range shooting only and ended up just trashing them. I don’t trust them at all’ especially with my life.
@@nickrobinson9503 I asked at the gun store and a customer bought one for his 1911 A1 Army and told me that it worked fine. Now, it may work for me because I am not into competition just target shooting, nice and easy. I don't know. I was just looking for something that would work on the 1911 A1 Army.
@@rafaelmadrigal9038 I get it., I bought mine just for range shooting in the first place but the bullets nose dived just way too often for me to trust them.
I haven't had the greatest luck with pro mags either, but some of them have worked perfectly fine also. Ok range mags, but definately don't bet your life on them.
The only bad thing I have heard about these is that the metal they use is fairly soft and after about 200 rounds, you begin to see some binging on the slide
I could be wrong but I believe the metal on this particular model is stronger that the cheapest one they make. Milled instead of stamped or something like that.
@@BuckeyeBallistics Both the Tisas Army & Service Models are forged steel milled slides and receivers There are 1911s made with receivers cast in steel or alloy, but the only thing stamped is the head of the guy who "heard" the metal is soft.
Hickok put up a good video of this gun factory grips before they fixed the front site post. It’s in the continent two or three below this one. If you’re looking at the gun they are fabulous. Just picked one up myself.
the 45 I carried in the 82ndthe brass would hit the top of my helmet I didn't exchange it I stayed with that one. it made me laugh. pow ding I had to close my collar top button sometimes the hot brass would go in my shirt on the range id do the dance. all the guys would get a laugh too. out
