I'm sure I'm not the only one who saw Carl perform in the early 80's on his solo tour - and I believe he did this song in the set if I am remembering correctly (along with Long Promised Road). The rest of the show were not BB songs, but it was a tight R&B type of show. And the late Billy Hinsche was in the band too.
Because Carl was just such a superior vocalist, this rendition is to me, superior to JF's version. Also, Skunk wails & the over-all vibe is one of an outrageously good time. Love it !!! Wolfsky9
Those white outfits from the late 60's were the worst. Like seeing Higgins from Magnum PI on stage. This is a cool song, but it doesn't really go anywhere.
Love Love Love Carl Wilson
You and me both. He left us way too early. Thanks for watching.

One of my all-time favorites, I really wish The Boys had made this a staple of their concerts. This is Carl at his rockin out best! Wolfsky9
83 to 85 on setlist often
Miss you, Carl Wilson ! ------------------Wolfsky9, 70 y/o
🙏🏼 ❤️❤️😇 R.I.P Carl Wilson, gone but never forgotten xxxx
Carl, at his best ! --------------------WolfSky9
We miss you Carl!
I love Carl Wilson too, but nobody can beat John Fogerty singing a song he wrote himself. Carl finishes a close second :) Miss him
Judge a man by his friends. Carl had the best on this song and video. Thank you for sharing.
Carl, Jeff, and Nicky sound amazing together!
Who's the knothead that gave a thumbs down?? This is awesome!!!
Fantastic rocking cover !!! Turn it up and party on !!!
Definitely headphones material!!
Don't forget Carl was a pretty mean guitarist, too.

yeah, best version of a terrific song
I have to agree even though fogerty's version kicks ass as well! Carl adds these little things that make it better.
Friends Mine And I Do Miss Carl Singing
Great video!

Thanks for the kind words.
Big hit for Status Quo in the UK, pretty much their anthem. But Carl's version is great. Could have worked well at BB's concerts.
I think they did it at a few in the 70s?
@@beachboysfanforever1244 Early 80's. Seattle.
It is Ed Carter.
Is the video footage reversed? Al is right handed and the white tele with a bigsby was Carl's and its a right handed model.
Versione superiore persino a quella degli Status Quo
Who's the guy in the orange shirt? Ed Carter?
It's Ed.
I did reverse the video just for the fun of it. You're the first to notice (or at least comment on it).
Not sure what that says about me :-)
