Thank you for posting this video it's very informative and it makes it easier to understand what to look for. Recently just got into airbrushing and man it's been fun but a learning curve. Best wishes 🙏
after watching your videos along with mike flores i decided to go the route of ps 270 instead of the much more costly ps 771 your videos are some of the best on you tube since u saved me about 100.00 bucks i guess i can affrd to buy you a coffee of maybe a gr8 craft beer
Thanks! Yeah with todays inflation.. about a couple cups of coffee in savings maybe :0 The 270 is cheaper now than when I got it. It was a great value then, better even now. Im pretty confident there is not another sub 100.00 airbrush that is better, and id probably say none as good. Of course depending on what your using it for. I still use my eclipse and some larger nozle airbrushes for a lot of things.
they sometimes are packed in with the eclipse package. At one time the hobby lobby set came with a hose a moisture trap and 3 bottles of com art. I dont think any of them come with a hose anymore.. but it has been a little bit since ive bought another one :)
@@dannygonzales7923 i really don't do t shirts anymore. it was never my main focus either way. I can paint a t shirt passably, but there are definitely guys better at it than me.
Hi Bill nice one mate really want to try illustration paints that is my next go to as you know I use golden highflow acrylics and have for years now But the illustration seems more playable thanks for sharing much appreciated 👍
The illustration paints dry matte versus semi gloss. They are now also much thinner viscosity than before. So thinner than golden.. But higher pigment load. The illustration are less durable than golden at first because welll they are designed to be eraseable and rewettable. you have to be careful when varnishing or flooding on them because they can be rewet and smear. But they erase nicer and more subtle. I used com art for a long time, they are amazing at illustrating little things... but they are very fragile. and coverage is very weak in comparison. I have pretty much every major waterbased airbrush paint here now. I intend to one day do like a difference comparison video. But without question noone has as complete a lineup as createx does.
@@TheAIRspace thanks mate I have com art and I know exactly what you mean very thin paint takes alot to get full coverage 👍 will give the illustration a go and let you know what I think thanks for the feedback mate much appreciated take care DRED FX
i cannot say i've ever had an ammonia smell with com art. Although IF paints somehow become contaminated they can give off a horrible smell. But yes always pros and cons to things, and I think i made sure people understand its not all sunshine and rainbows. I mention createx products a lot, and I seriously believe in and use them, But felt i should show some of the other options. I will probably do a similiar video on the goldens soon. I got a huge list of things I REALLY have been meaning to make videos about. From some alternative color videos, to some info on sprayguns. I just need to make time. And of course after the new year, ill get some tutorial content out... if not before then. :) Thanks!
Unfortunately, Iwata discontinued these. Is there anything that comes close? I found some of these on clearance and I love them for hand-brush stuff - that perfect combo of fluidity, opaqueness and quick-drying for what I'm trying to do. But I couldn't find them anywhere to get more in colors I didn't have. I contacted Iwata and they confirmed that these are gone now.
Iwata indeed discontinued these and went the route of model type paints Acrylic inks are going to be the closest thing to Com Art. Depends on which country you are in on which would be best. Something’s in the USA are not available in the uk and Spain and same in reverse
My only experience with the ComArt is the Bottle of Ultramarine Blue that came with one of my Eclipses, and I've used it on one painting and one Model kit, and yes over a painted surface it was fantastic. I would like to try more of their transparent for sure. On a Side note Bill, Do you find the Createx illustration white to be more splattery and even more prone to tip dry than the Wicked white? or is it just me? and if so any tips on fixing it? like adding the 2030 balancing clear?? I haven't tried that yet with the illustration white. I've played with Air pressure up and down.. Some improvement thinned and at around 25-30 psi on my Gsi 771 but still splatters chunks.
There has been some changes in available resins. Which has affected the illustration line What I’ve found is it has to be mixed up immediately before using or it tends to separate. Which can cause larger chunks of pigment to clog things up. If your mixing with uvls it’s not an issue since the binder is thicker and stays mixed longer. But definitely the white is not as good as it used to be. I’ve always liked the golden high flow white, but it’s gone through some changes as well. Either one likes less air pressure than previously. For me working larger is a bigger issue than details. In the mean time I’ve been reducing with distilled water and retarder for things like canvas where adhesions not really an issue. But I reduce in small amounts
@@TheAIRspace Thanks Bill , lately I've been doing more hard surfaces Coffee travel mugs, the huge flasks that Donna Sells at Maple Airbrush some panels.. Lot of the stuff I'm doing is Black and white then covered in Candy 2 O , so the issue of blowing chunks of white can get annoying when getting in for some tight details and highlights. I do have both 4030 and 4050 so I guess I'll experiment a bit and see what works best for me.. I'll have to pick up some of the golden high flows too.
What website do I buy these off of? Every paint I try to buy seems to have either no website or have an unintuitive website that I can’t even find the right type of paint
to begin i have a link on amazon.. Now here in the USA.. Blicks, Mister Art, Jerrys all carry com art. I do MOST of my paint purchases through spraygunner.com/?aff=15 +++AFF LINK++ However they do not carry Com art. But of course if you are in another country id need to know which one to even hazard a guess.

I don’t use the C brand
anymore after 4 years.. I am now using Golden brand. So much lighter and easier to reduce.
Just learning. By "reduce" do you mean thinning?
Thanks

@@TheAIRspace about the ammonia info, i got the information on comart datasheet they metion 3% ammonia on the paint
I use airbrush for cheek art, I spray over stencils. Are these good for kid cheeks?
No you want to use paint made specifically for body art when doing face painting!
Good to know , thank's Bill!!!

What kind of erasers are those
The hard eraasers are typewriter erasers.
The soft is just a plain latex eraser you can get at any art store and of course also used an exacto blade.
Can I have a few samples, thanks brother.
