Great information, since I lowered my air pressure to 10 psi, and thined my Createx Illustration Paint to 50%, as you have suggested it has transformed my airbrushing. It has made my Iwata Eclipse with a 0.35mm setup preform like a dream. It is unbelievable how much better I can paint with that combination. Thanks!

What is the reason to add water to fw inks instead of just alcohol. Your right about golden thanks for your videos so informative 👍

Great info! Agree💯 Rob! would highly suggest go with inks at the beginning to practice and move on to acrylics but get a good acrylic airbrush paint! I almost tried golden till you told me they were not as good as they used to! Thanks for sharing !!👊🏽✌🏽👍🏽🙌🏽

Great bit of info Rob. It’s a pity that a lot of people out there can’t be so honest with reviews especially for those who are on a limited budget or are just starting out. I also like Holbein inks and Schmincke inks.

I had a problem with so called airbrush paints (to cut it short). You recommend FW inks. I tried them and not looked back. Thanks for that one. I have got a pack of Createx Illustration, very nice paint but use FW because it's cheaper and easier to get. My old car needed a shine, couldn't get one. So I hand painted it with Dulux Undercoat and Gloss. Shiny as can be. The new owner says it's a good job. Dulux auto, great. 😂🤣. Your video i think is useful to most of us beginners. Thanks.

Hey thanks for the info as always. I have watched your videos ever since I began using an airbrush about 18 months ago. I am located in the U.S. and have also noticed as of late that if I don't add some distilled water to my brand new golden high flow paints then I have the same issues that you did. I've had good results with Liquitex acrylic inks which are the same if not cheaper in some cases as golden. At least in the states. Thanks ! Cheers!

Awesome video Rob with lots of good info on mixing and using the best paints for airbrushing👌when I first started painting I was really confused on which paint I should use and what the mixing ratios were supposed to be but I'm using automotive paint so it's not quite the same.
If you need a better gun for your thicker paints mate I can lend you my ANI gun that I use for polyester spray filler I think it has a 2.5mm nozzle so that should work a treat for you👌🤠😂

Hi, i paint R/C car bodies that are a lexan plastic. When shading we really have to lay it down thin to create a layer for the next layer to attach to. If we try to lay it down it will blow out due to the 20psi we are set at. Paint just cant stick to that smooth lexan. Would you still recommend thining wicked down with ISO and running the 10 psi. Like you i like the thinner flowing paint but with our bodies it doesn't really allow it Thanks for videos

Hi. Ever tried Tamiya paints? Designed for scale models and because of that those are highly pigmented. I usually thin with their alcohol thinner quite a lot and still getting solid coverage and smooth blends. Sadly most of their colours are army based so usually muted browns, greens and greys. Gloss range has more saturated colours I think.

Just starting to watch the video and can already say you're spot on about the new golden paints.
They definately clog up a lot, which is a shame because their paints used to be very good. I swore by golden paints but as of now, i'm looking for another brand...

The problems with the flow of white inks/acrylics, along with the need to thoroughly clean the airbrush, explains the use of a white paint pen on the portraits.

we got trident paints from dna custom paints in australia .. i have createx illustrations for transparent and tridents for opaque . they both perform very well . And Rob you are right on with the point that, the cheap ready to go paints for ab from ebay are garbage. i tried them as well garbage 😂.
