    Turn on immersive audio. adjust the EQ. Treble boost. My phone calls were terrible in the beginning until I did this. I now talk literally all day with them. The person hear me just fine and vice versa.

    Mine arrived moments ago. They came with a 60 percent charge and I was able to pair them with my iPhone without any difficulty. The fit and feel are incredible, as is the sound quality in my opinion. Expensive, but I think they will be worth it.

    Your review was very informative and I really appreciate you providing a sample of a phone call and how it sounds for the other person.
    I recently purchased the ultra open earbuds and find that during phone calls people have a very difficult time hearing me or do not hear me at all. I sometime have to go to speaker to respond.
    Overall…I really enjoy the earbuds. The sound quality is excellent for open ear. Controls are easy. I am very active and have had NO ISSUES with the earbuds staying in place. They are comfortable. Good product, but definitely needs work with the phone call output.

    Very innovative for a first gen product. I’ll wait for the second gen for Multi-point and better sound. I like the idea of these though being able to wear them all day and not even knowing they are there. Bose is stepping up their game lately!

    I love this product for the following reasons: I use mine while doing activities like fishing where I want to still be able to hear my environment. Also, while riding my bike on a public road or running on a public, lightly trafficking road; all of these situations I need open earbuds. I wish there was wireless wireless charging but that’s definitely not a dealbreaker for me. How do I justify the $300 price? I use them 8 to 12 hours a day in situations where I need to hear my family, or traffic, or fish jumping, etc. For how much I use them I feel it’s worth paying for the best audio quality I can get. Their warranty department is also second to none which makes me a lot more confident in spending this kind of money.

    That was an excellent explanation of WHY there are specific groups of people who would be interested in this type of earbuds. Some people just don't get it. I would like to see more videos comparing very similar open earbuds, such as those from Sony or Huawei.

    The review that is missing for me is Apple AirPods Pro 2 transparency mode vs. Bose ultra open. I think it’s helpful in making a decision, especially where the AirPods actually cost less. I do greatly appreciate the point about comfort. I for one do not enjoy earbuds in my ears. Sometimes they hurt. I never get the seal. So for $300 these have to check all the boxes. If I buy them I can switch to something else for a zoom call and use these on a walk where there may be traffic. Maybe that’s the point? That these may not be your only earbuds nor should they be. They serve a very specific purpose at a very specific time. Comfort is important and from all the reviews I’ve seen there’s agreement that these are comfortable. But then as you mentioned … so many things a pair of premium earbuds in 2024 should have that these don’t makes it a non-starter for some. Can I handle the missing wireless charging? Absolutely. Can I handle the music not stopping when I remove an earbud? I don’t think I can. This is a feature I have grown accustomed to and quite frankly expect. Ultimately this makes me want to search for a solution to make my AirPods more comfortable. Just as we’re blasting Bose for its oversights, Apple should be ashamed of being on the 5th version of AirPods (3 regular and 2 pro) where they are still uncomfortable and not always fully secure.

    • @RawansReviews
      @RawansReviews  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Excellent points you make. In terms of transparency mode, Apple has one of the best transparencies I've tested. Slightly better on the AirPods Max than the Pros, but still the Pros deliver very natural-sounding transparency. But it's not _natural_ as in, your ears are still blocked, and you're using external mics to pick up sounds and project them into your ear. As such, it simply cannot sound as "natural" as the Bose Open, which literally leave your ears...open. But..... I would say you're about 85% there with the AirPods Pro. Regarding comfort and secure fit, I fully agree with you as well. I never felt they would stay securely in my ears either. That's why I use memory foam tips. For my ear size and shape, I find these tips quite good; they expand in your ear so provide a better and more secure seal. I did do a review of them in the past if you're interested; th-cam.com/video/YUCHi9ngdbY/w-d-xo.html

      This is very helpful! Thank you kindly. I will check out the other link and look into memory foam tips. I have toyed with the idea but never did it. If you have a particular brand you like I’d love to know - maybe that’s in the other link … haven’t had a chance to look yet.

    • @RawansReviews
      @RawansReviews  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @ScottKleinberg it is indeed. I’ve been using Comply tips for a few years and generally happy with them. Especially the V2 version. You will have some sort of running cost as they would require replacing every few months (depending on usage), but I’ve had these continuously on my AirPods Pro (and now AirPods Pro 2) ever since they first came out. Good luck!

    Great review, but the vacuum cleaner "in the background" test is a little intense. I would argue that vacuum cleaner was in the foreground! Not exactly a fair test. The roadside test is a lot more useful.
    I want to buy a pair of these earbuds. But I might wait for them to go on sale. And maybe a different color.

    • @RawansReviews
      @RawansReviews  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I've traditionally always done a hairdryer test in all my call quality segments of headphones/earbuds. Later found a (cordless) vacuum to be more convenient, but must admit, it is louder. Agree it isn't "fair", but it's a stress test. Other buds and headphones I've reviewed have performed much better in that very test. Perhaps the poor performance of the Bose Ultra Open made it seem more unfair.

    Perhaps my pair is a lemon. I'm returning them because: they fail half the time I try to answer a phone call with them and they fail every time I try to use them once a phone call has started; even though I customized the modes to switch between my iPhone and my iPad, the feature only works about half the time and then reverts back to factory settings; people complain when I use them for zoom meetings because they say I sound like I'm calling from inside a tunnel; they randomly pick up audio from other peoples devices; they're not as comfortable as other people say they are; and the fact that they don't have sensors to know when they've been taken out of the ear and they continue to play… not acceptable in my opinion. I cannot recommend these earbuds at any price.

      @@RawansReviews I don't normally wear earphones more than 2 - 3 hours at a time, so comfortability is never an issue for me. For those high-end earphones, they do have transparency mode, so there's environmental awareness. On top of it, there's no wireless charging, for Pete's sake, we're living in the 21st century. Without ANC is a showstopper for me.

    • @RawansReviews
      @RawansReviews  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Fully agreed. And the transparency mode on some has gotten quite good to the point that it sounds 'almost' natural as well. On the wireless charging bit; I've gotten a lot of heat on this channel before when I mention that on premium earbuds (like my review of the Bose QC Buds II and QC Ultras). Unacceptable for me, but the general population tends to disagree on that point at least. Glad someone out there thinks otherwise!

      @@RawansReviews I'm very satisfied with my Pixel Buds Pro which I got them for free when I purchased my Google Pixel phone. These little wonders have everything under the sun. Wireless charging, Long Battery Hours, Spatial Audio, Good ANC, very comfortable to wear and the best thing is Google actually rolls out firmware every 6 months. I've received 2 firmware updates since I bought the earphones. The only gripe I've is that they don't support Hi-Res AptX codecs, but it's no biggie for me. If I were to buy another ANC earbuds, I'd consider the Sony XM5s once the price has dropped significantly, as they've received raved reviews.

      Well the purpose is for people who either can't wear/don't like in-ear earbuds, or want complete awareness. That I get. Some of us desire to opt functionality and comfortability with their devices (and shoes) over social trends.
