      Ahh really thats a shame. Hit the guys up a korr they were great to deal with. It's still a great awning.

    Hey Myles. Just wondering how heavy the awning is. I had a look on the Hard Korr website and there’s no mention of it which, in this day and age of being highly conscious of GVM & GCM weights, I thought was a bit average of Hard Korr not to include. Do you find the significant gap between the awning itself and the top of your canopy at the front and back of your 79 an issue with rain?
    I bought a Bush Company 270Max XT and fitted it to my Prado (and coincidentally installed the Hard Korr LED light strips). Whilst it’s a great bit of kit, it weighs a whopping 33kgs but that said, I will only ever have it and a set of 4 MaxTrax fitted to my (Front Runner) roofrack.
    Also, similar to your Companion portable power system, I use a Bluetti AC200 Max and a matching set of 4 x 200W portable solar panels both of which do the job of a secondary battery system on the Prado with complete portability. So far, it’s been working an absolute treat.
    Great video 👍

      Hey Rich
      It's lighter than Bush Company. It's only 28 kg. You're not wrong. Everything adds up so quickly, and you just don't realise. There is a small gap between the car and at the back of the canopy where rain can get in but hasn't been an issue for us yet.
      The Bush Company is a great bit of gear but it came down to cost for us thats why we went Hard Korr and we are very happy with it.
      Yeah the portable power packs are great and have come a long way.
      Wow thats heaps of solar. Should charge up quickly with that.
      Thanks for watching 👍.

    Im tying between the Hardkorr or the Nomad 270. Has anyone seen both and what would your thoughts be on the 2?

    • @FamilyEscapeAustralia
      @FamilyEscapeAustralia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't seen the Nomad 270 so I can't comment sorry. But the Hardkorr is a great product at a reasonable price.

    You done well to get your hands on a 79. I rang up the other day and there is a 12 month wait to just find out if the order book will re open! Also, do u have a 12volt setup in the canopy yet? Cheers

    • @FamilyEscapeAustralia
      @FamilyEscapeAustralia  ปีที่แล้ว

      We ordered back in October 2021. We don't have a 12v set up yet. We did originally have one ordered with the canopy from Norweld but we simply ran out of money. We hope to have this set up early next year.

      Coleman thing looks great for your needs. Great find.

    • @FamilyEscapeAustralia
      @FamilyEscapeAustralia  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it deffinatly fills the gap for now. Great option for people looking for weekend getaways and don't need to spend big money on a full system. The best thing is you can move it around aswell.

      @@FamilyEscapeAustralia yeah. I think I’ll get one. Great idea. Thanks for sharing it. Much easier then a battery box with Dcdc mppt etc. I heard it can turn itself off though when reaches fully charged even when powering something?

      We havn't had any issues with ours. Fridge is always running when we are camping and when we use the solar panel to charge it has no issues. We got ours from anaconda at a great price. www.anacondastores.com/?cfclick=c14fa22fc3ce40a98b2e5a39e26e4c4f&dclid=CMvN5bKh4vsCFdTHcwEdaIEA0Q

    Great vid, I have been on the hunt for a 270 for a while and I'm stuck between this and the bushwakka 270 darkness as they have forward swinging arms. How far does it come out from the car, I'm assuming around 2m. Can find all other dimensions except this one. Thanks again for the great vid 👍

      @FamilyEscapeAustralia  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey sorry I actually don’t know sorry. I will measure it for you next time I have it out. We are really happy with the hardkorr had the same issues while we were looking and glad with the decision.
      Thanks for the feedback 👍.

      Hi Blair. All good I feel it was. They are $1500. For what you get and compared to others I think its a great buy.
