    Adventure kings and i have long had a love hate relationship, i love to hate them hahaha.
    But have they finally made a product thats good value and good quality?
    well only time will tell that story but from first impressions it looks like a fair decent 270 awning for the budget money they are asking for.
    For a novice 4wder or camper this will be an absolute game changer for them as its almost half the price of its closest competitor.
    even for the experienced 4x4 / overlander this will also suit alot of ppl who dont normally want an awning but this could push them into one.
    you can make up your own mind

    I just did a 2 week Tassie trip with one of these. Experienced just about every type of weather and it held up fine. As long as it holds up in the long term I reckon it's hard to beat value for money wise.
    Edit: I also went down quite a few tight tracks with it being poked and prodded by sticks and branches and the bag held up.

    • @Australian4x4Adventures
      @Australian4x4Adventures  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well that’s a positive. Hopefully it’s still holding up in a years time. Then I’ll be impressed with them

      @Ban00dle ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@alishabab3 "just about". I haven't had to put it up against 80-90 kph winds but it's held up just fine any time I've used it, even when it's been pretty windy. 8 months on the only negative I have about it is I find water does like to pool up a bit in heavier rain. That said it comes with tie down points and straps to create run off channels so not a deal breaker.

    People love to sh%t on Kings because other people do it and they want to fit in, but I've never had an issue with any of the gear that I've bought from them. Nothing wrong with value for money.

    • @sounds_like_pain3345
      @sounds_like_pain3345 ปีที่แล้ว

      They’re good for the price. But I’ve had issues with their awning and their swags. Velcro on the awnings breaks down and looses its stick terribly and the swag got entirely saturated inside when it was rolled up, in a kings canvas bag, on my roof on a rainy drive.

      To be fair they are one of those brands that are a few $$ short of the premium ones, so they are good for certain things, but something like an awning or roof rack, your better off getting a premium brand, even a second hand one, plus if you want to sell it in future you will get most of your money back.

    • @OldFellaDave
      @OldFellaDave 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      People shit on them because they want to feel superior because they paid 4 times as much for a premium brand some TH-camr (who got it for free) plugs ;) If this 'gets you out there' doing what you want to do then it's a great purchase. Period ;)

    A tip for the stitching holes you have in the bag...you need Clear Neutral cure silicone,buy yourself a bottle of Shellite (white Spirits) (NOT THE one YOU DRINK) 1/4 cup of silicone (less or more depending on job size)add the shellite and stir until it's a nice fairly thin brushable mix,apply to the stitching and let dry worked on my tiger11 awing which I still use.

    Like you said, good value for money.i also like the bag and how it's easy to zip up. My 23zero 270° was only $850 and comes with LED strip light and folds our that extra 1.8m towards the front of the car which gives a heap more undercover room. All in all not bad tho

    I think you'd need to do a side-by-side comparison with a good one to see how they made it so cheap. I've got Bush Company 270 awnings (Max on the camper and Max XT on the 200), pity you are in AfDanistan or we could compare them.

    Ive got the falcon 23zero 270 on Y62 i have a full length arb rack because its a S5 Ti. Mine was like $1000 and it covers the front more but you lose some over the rear compared to the kings style or the osprey 23zero. I've put a hardkorr led 2m strip in mine and it works pretty good. Good about 23zero is the bags one piece and zips at bottom so rain cant come in the top there's also a flap over the front to stop water coming in when your driving. So far i havent found any water ingress in 18months except when i pack it up wet

    Thanks mate now I know I got an absolute bargain with my drifta Stockton 👌👍😎
    Material is soooo much better and I won't get sunburnt sitting under it 😁 had a king's straight out awning and definitely didn't protect from the sun whatsoever. That material looks better but still almost see through whereas the drifta is full blackout.
    Drifta isn't the best ever either but way better value for money I reckon after seeing this! 👌
    Kings will last about 6 months and then fall apart and you pay three times over for the hassle and sheet quality.
    How's that water pooling in the cover!!! Might as well put a tap on it and use it as a water bladder 🤣😂 but seriously that is pretty poor if he hadn't opened it for a while even if was pissing down. The zip seems like it's on the side which might be the cause. My drifta bad hasnt let water in yet even after a heavy rain cos I have opened it to check after driving in cats and dogs rain.
    You started off well by not linking king's . . . Then you went and hoared yourself out but didn't use lube either 🤣😂🤣🤣

    Take this and a bush company one to the beach on a windy day....
    Park them apart as you don't want both cars damaged from the kings breaking off 🤣
    Why people waste money and time on kings is mind blowing 🤯 🤔 there is always a pile of broken everything out the front and a over flowing bin of broken returns.
    Only camping shop that people test new items before leaving 🤭🤣

    • @Australian4x4Adventures
      @Australian4x4Adventures  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think they serve a purpose to a section of the community.

      @ausguy4385 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Australian 4x4 Adventures temporar meth lab? Even then they would buy quality...
      If you go away 3 to 4 times a year then I would say quality that will last is well worth it. Sick of camping and there being a kings this that and the other broken dumped. Went to the bend v8s... was over in park and view last day was windy.... was a huge dump pile of all the car attached awning, free standing awning/shades... countless new looking chairs but all broken or ripped. Not talking Faded ones either all looked new new...
