Join us as we spend some time exploring Broome. After spending almost two weeks on the Gibb, it was a time to relax, enjoy the sunsets on Cable Beach and catch up on some work. There are so many things that we missed, unfortunately, many of Broome's highlights are reliant on high/low tides and of course around the moon cycles. When planning, be sure to take these all into consideration. Thanks ...

Lost me at ATC bullshit
Thanks for taking the time to video this. I managed to change my hub bearings today because of your video. The only thing missing is how to change the bearing races. That was fun 😂
Glad it was helpful. Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback.
And.......
Great video, well presented, I can do it with absolute confidence now..thankyou
Glad it was helpful. Thanks for the feedback.
So many design issues with Lotus, you'd think that watching Trip In A Van's review of their Trooper that Lotus walks on water. The difference between a sponsored vs non sponsored?
Thanks for taking the time to reply. We also watched their video as it's the same van and did notice that some of the suggestions we mentioned seemed to be incorporated in their van. Hopefully, Lotus is taking the feedback onboard.
wow I need that type of tv for my old folks. I hope they sell it in my country
Great video. How much did you pay for your van and what was the wait on the build?
Hey. These builds add up fast. We were just over 160k and had to wait 18 months. We ordered in june 21 and picked up dec 22.
Hi Guys What’s happened..where are you? Have I missed something?
Hey we had to come back to Brisbane due to a funeral and then our van has been getting repaired for the past 3.5 months and still waiting on some work to be completed. We were in the Gold Coast tornado over xmas. I have loads of footage to still put together but full-time work and after school activities have kept us busy. Due to van repairs we have also had to cancel our Cape York trip. 😢 We plan on still travelling locally again soon. 😊
Ok … All the best with that Quick question….I also have a lotus….what have you guys done with Rust reduction in your van? I’m thinking about the Carafan, but also looking at the dometic….. Cheers
We have the carafan and you can 100% tell when you forget to turn it on.
Wow mate don't take it back to the same place... I'll stop short of calling him a mechanic
Loved this review. We have a 2019 Trooper and have to agree that the windows are complete and utter rubbish. We have tried sealing inside with silicon, and good quality magnetic screens but none of this resolves the issue to our satisfaction. They have to be replaced as we cannot leave windows open from dusk onwards, so I am keen to see how you go finding a fit for purpose replacement. Ditto that flaming light over the door, location of the water tap on drawbar, useless jockey wheel, the location of the power inlet and the front toolbox. Most issue you mention we also have and agree with your comments (eg shower drain, leaking shower door, dunny roll holder etc). I could add a long list to this which I just ended up sorting myself. Don't get me wrong, we love our Trooper and it takes a beating and comes back for more, but the quality and attention to detail were not close to an acceptable standard for a van at this price point. The only consolation is that form our travels it seems most van builders have similar quality and attention to detail issues. Lotus have been good to deal with, though slow to respond. Our dealer in WA was disgraceful and is no longer a Lotus agent.
Hey, thanks for the feedback, and I couldn't agree more. The van has been great and has taken us some amazing places with no structural issues and never let us down. It's purely the final touches and finishes that need to be sorted for a van at this price point, and they would be amazing.
great set up
👍
Do you know what size containers you used in the cupboard near the bunks?
Hi, these are from kmart, and they are the A, B, and C sizes
maybe a jayco all terain.. lol could have holidayed for 6-12 months longer
Can you elaborate on how you connected, and which wires you soldered the brake controller into to create the bundle? Cheers mate, great stuff!
Sorry mate, it was so long ago i can not remember. Hope you can get it sorted.
Wow, I hope there’s warning signs up after your experience. This looks really unsafe. I hope this doesn’t happen again.
Junk it’s ok maybe for dinky toys
Does the 12 volt feed from pins 2 and 3 on the 12 pin connector only feed the ALKO ESC ? or does it do both and charge the caravan battery while your driving
Guys, thank you for an excellent review, I reckon you have saved me a lot of time and frustration with your recommendations- I am just about to book a Lotus build and you video was outstanding, to the point and so informative. Thanks again, Mark
Great to hear it was helpful
Beautiful
Wish they would start selling these in the US. We only get Conquer and MDC. Need more options to push the overlanding market with setups for rugged trailers that have room for larger families.
Looking at doing this. Thanks for the video. If on mains water at a caravan park, how does it go with regards to over flowing the water tank?
You do have to monitor it. Some people have installed a bypass valve, so it doesn't use this valve when on mains.
Nice
All ready for a walk! 🐾
Hi, I’ve had the water saver installed on my motorhome. Do you get a small amount of water coming out of water overflow on the outside of your van? Thank you.
No, we don't. Something must not be connected properly.
Looks a bit floppy underneath near grommet. Could you epoxy glue a little bracket on?
Do you have a link for where you can get the valve?
No sorry but if you look up redwater valve they will pop up
Hey mate, interested to know what weights the van ended up and how you went with Tare, GTM, ATM, Ball weights etc... Might be a good content :)
I'll look into doing a video on this with all our weights.
Thank you for this must pay this place a camping visit well done on your video
Ooh I do like those square plates where do you get them please?
After cleaning, i always also closely inspect the bearings, bearing outer cones, and axle seal for any damage or wear etc....first time i services wheel bearings on my Jayco outback Hawke, i found one of the bearing seals spring was broken, so i replaced it and brought some spares, which always go into the boot of the van...
Great idea to carry some spares. It's always great to be able to look after your own gear.
Great video, just installed one and it works great when the pump is on. Only tricky problem I have had is when connected to mains the hot water won’t come through. Have you experienced this?
Hey, yes, we did just turn the flow rate down on the hws and it should fix your issue. It was only really an issue in the colder areas for us.
Hi, thanks for your reply however even with turning the hws flow rate down still no luck. Might need to bypass the valve when we’re at caravan parks. It seems strange as we are currently travelling along the coast of nsw with 30 degree days.
Scotch locks are one of the worst ways to connect wires
Was totally worth the effort to get up there for sure!!
💯
For starters if your going to zoom In on a label leave it a bit longer so we can see what the label says. And i might have to put a " um" counter on
Thanks for the feedback. This was one of our earlier videos, and I was still getting use to it.
Interested in what you do for internet access when you are travelling?
We use starlink and recommend it to anyone looking to travel. It's great, and you can wifi call in emergencies if required.
😱😱 I went there😊
Which J35 do you have? Is it suitable to charge the lithium battery's? When connected to 240v, is the j35 able to safely change the lithium? Cheers.
This was the j35b. From memory, you need the j35d for litium. I haven't heard of any issues with the j35 charging any batteries, but it would be a better question for bmpro. Sorry I couldn't help more.
Thank you. Just what the fans and I needed.
Thanks, glad it was helpful 👍

Please excuse the quality of my English. I'm from Russia and I've never seen a better review. Thanks a lot!
Thanks for watching 🍻
Some well thought out critiques of your van. I can tell you have spent some time detailing your observations. Having said that - I couldn’t help thinking: “My three-year-old Titanium has all of your suggestions for Lotus already standard” so I’m a bit confused why a premium brand like Lotus doesn’t have them yet? Continue travelling well 👍
Thanks for the feedback. It looks like they have made a fair few of these changes to the newer models now. Safe travels 😀
Stretch Armstrong is the name you were looking for 😅 new to the channel. Great honest review. Watching from Ireland 🇮🇪 currently!!
Thanks for watching 👍
Best review of the Lotus Trooper caravan I've seen. Thank you for your insight and opinion. Has been very helpful in helping me to look for issues i would not have considered. Really curious how Lotus reacted to your 12 month service review. Hope they take your critique seriously and implement the necessary changes and review QA issues.
Thanks for watching and the feedback 🍻. It looks like they have made a few changes to the current models. I'm not sure if it was from us or if it's a coincidence 🤔.
Metal pipe clamps the cable ties are not UV stable
We will look to do this if they fail. They dont get too much sun. Thanks for the tip 👍.

Perhaps you should have checked out the playground in Snowtown. Only a 10 min drive away.
We did do that when we went and visited the area another time. Pretty cool little town.👍
