There are a lot of tier lists on TH-cam, and I am yet to see one done on pickles (maybe that is a sign I shouldn't have done this...). Since my TH-cam channel has no discernible theme I thought a tier list would only add to the charm.

This pickle based tier list came to life when some friends suggested to both make a pickle, and buy a pickle form McDonalds, as part of the tier list. Once I heard those Ideas I know this video would work as there would be enough content to make a full tier list video.

Whatever are you talking about? He used a flag, a plaid pattern, Thomas the tank engine, a dollar sign, a salt shaker, garlic, a carrot, a green obergine emoji, Shrek, and literally just the word Deep. I think a little less than half were pictures of pickles, and even those were somewhat identifiable, like the ones cut lengthwise which were the only ones like that. I mean I guess it contributed to the humor but I wouldn't say undiscernable.

Cucumbers aren't very 'dense', they'll soak up whatever liquid you drop them in decently quick. Pickling is a method of preservation, not adding flavor.
As a Pole, I must make you aware of that, these "pickles", you've bought in the Polish store, were not actual "pickles" because these were not pickled. These were marinated/fermented in sour brine, not in vinegar. These were never meant to be sweet, but more like sour-salty, more like sauerkraut than pickles. It's like the cucumber(ish) version of Surstroemming.

This is exactly what I assumed when he said "Polish shop" before he even tried them. In Germany we also have vinegar pickles and lactic acid fermented gherkins. But I have never seen those in the Netherlands (where I currently live). So this is probably a Central and Eastern European thing and not so well known in Britain.
Theres an American brand called 'Bubbies' that are also in brine, also in New England brine homemade pickles are a summer thing, but I assumed they're still considered pickles, everyone calls them that

As a Polish guy I just want to say that anything that says "kiszone" or "kwaszone" are sour gherkins, not pickled gherkins - there is no sugar, no vinegar... Something like sauerkraut, but with cucumbers. It is an acquired taste, developed from early days of life, that goes well with everything... as long as you are Polish and was fed them all your life. My favorite is with kajzerka (the plainest of wheat buns), pasztetowa (the cheapest and porkiest pate), and mayo. Also they go well with vodka, but then - what doesn't?

@@Jerkfaceman I would not call them poverty food, as there are not many calories in cucumbers, but a way of preserving them (have personally eaten at least 10 years old sour gherkins). They also are a good source of vitamins and probiotics, keeps you healthy during winters

My local budget grocery got a deal on a really crappy self checkout machine, and it had text-to-speech, but it was based off how Chinese folks speak English as a second language in China.
I talked to the owner about it, and he was like, "I can't even phonetically spell out what I want it to say, because it just adds this awful accent to the phonemes."
For example, instead of saying "welcome," it says "uh-wel-commuh." And "credit" is "cahr-reddit-hh," as if the text-to-speech system is just letting out a sigh after asking for cash or credit.
He apparently got some different software for the things and now it just sounds like a generic self checkout system. It was driving him crazy because people were mocking his self checkout system and it ended up on a local facebook page, where the poster was saying that his store was trash because of it.
Poundland used to have - An Elvis one - a Santa one - even a Yoda one.

Except pickles and pickeled cucumbers are the same thing. The proper term in English would be fermented pickles.

I personally only eat the salty, bitter, sour pickled cucumbers. Locally known as russian pickled cucumbers. They have no sugar and are pickled via fermentation that forms lactic acid. I can't stand the sweet pickles :x

I have learned one thing from both this and watching ProZD: Eating 20+ items of the same type of food, regardless of said food type, is a god damned endurance test that I am barely able to watch let alone partake in.

A true pickle is a fermented product--not just soaked in vinegar. Originally, the cucumber was placed only in brine (salt water) without the vinegar, and the bacteria produced the vinegar in the fermentation process. The bacteria in a fermented product is also beneficial for one's intestinal biome. The acid and bacteria also helps to digest proteins in the meal; thus pickles are a functional condiment. Any store-bought jar or can of pickles that contain a preservative such as potassium sorbate does not contain any bacteria culture.

"Kiszone ogórki" are not pickles technically, they are fermented in a way, like sauerkraut. You need to be accustomed to the taste.
