I love you so much. That day 10 vogue was everything! It gave me so much life as I recover. Your energy is contagious and brought a big smile to my face. I love your twist outs and plan to follow this routine even though my hair isn't this long yet since my big chop
Omg i love when you smile. You have a beautiful smile. Your whole face lights up. You are so truly talented. Your hair gives me life. Love your earrings too.
Great job again! I also agree with you regarding the pineapple method. My hair would stand straight up after taking it down. As always, your instructions are on point! Love you!!
Omggg thank you for this video AfrikanHairGod!!! I have a fresh twist out today and I will be following all techniques you demonstrated in this video for the whole week. I want at least 7 days. Also, I noticed you put on a plastic cap when you go into the shower. Do you find that helps with moisture? I usually wear my bonnet in the shower so my hair doesn't get wet. However, the shower cap has me thinking it would be more beneficial with the steam of the shower and plastic cap trapping in moisture.
***** Your bonnet is going to absorb moisture from the steam and allow it to filter to your hair. If you are trying to maintain this style I would recommend a shower cap because it will keep moisture in and outside moisture out.
This video has saved my entire hair life!!! I don't normally leave comments on TH-cam videos, but since I am currently rocking my second refreshed twist out and it looks brand new, I had to come let you know that this video is the reason I'm able to do that. Thank you so, so much!!!
Coming into this video i expected it to be 10 days off of ONE twist out but you re-twisted 3 times?? I figured you might moisturize and then on days 8,9 and 10 you would do up dos.
Brandy Dyer Yeah, optimistically that is not realistic. This isn't a protective style so your hair is constantly going against the environment, humidity, and exposure to your ends. So rocking a single twistout for 10 days doing nothing to it would be detrimental to your hair.
Okay love all the education and the dance at the end was an added bonus. I am going into protective style mode, but when I remove my braids, I will definitely try this.
OMG!!!! I know this is an old video but I love your hair right here.. I was amazed that I was able to go a whole week without re twisting my hair. I'm going to try your method no small pineapples. I did find out my hair responds better when is wet than damp
Shauna Grace Yeah I need to post another video but I'm trying to learn how to do an axel jump first, then you'll probably get another short clip of me skating.
Thanks for doing this video. I've never been able to get my hair to bounce back after I pineapple it. So, I usually do two pony tails and bonnet my hair at night but I'm going to try your technique to see if it gives me more days of defined hair.
My favorite video..by far - you showed your personality so much more in this one...and the vogue did kill it...Ain't nothing but a thing boo!!! Honey be you boo!!!..💋💋💋
I've had so much twist out heartbreak that I gave up and just wear twists now! But in the Fall, I'm going to keep experimenting and incorporate your techniques, thanks!
I see you rockin' those Toni Daley earrings. I'm wearing mine too! I just love your channel :). I hope once I big chop I can learn how to twist as well as you do.
I am in my 9th month of transitioning and I find that my twist outs and braid outs have little to no definition at my relaxed ends. I have tried using foam rollers but that leaves my hair quite fluffy and reduces the definition even further. Do you have any tips that would help this problem? P.S. I love your videos; they are very informative and have drastically helped improve my hair's health!
My only worry is that my hair doesn't shake out cause I still have a twa. When I wake in the morning of day 2 (so already twisted out) how do I revive/fluff out my hair since it isn't long enough to shake off? I hope you understand my question
How do you keep your twistout from puffing up? Every time I do one it looks so nice and sleek when I take it down, no frizz at all, but the minute I step outside I look like I have a wavy afro.
NAPPY LIFE Nope, I don't use gel for twistouts. Believe it or not, gel is actually horrible for this style because gel is designed to dry and hold the hair into a shape while applied to wet hair. The problem with that is that 1. it potentially robs the hair of some of it's moisture because of it's drying effect and 2. gel hardens in shape when completely dried. This means that your hair will not only have a "rigid stiffness" to it, but it also has the potential to flake because when the dried gel is shifted from it's shape, it will break apart into little particles in your hair which will take away from the style and make it look ashy. Botanical gels like KCCC, DE Natural Curlforming Custard, or a Curl Activator gel will work because those are conditioning and full of moisturizers. However, they are full of humectants so your definition won't last as long as usual. A good cream-based styler with hold is good because it will leave you with the soft hold and moisture-rich benefits that you need for this touchable style.
NAPPY LIFE i still dont know how you all do it. But I can't use gel unless I know I'm going to wash my hair the next day, or that same night.... I seem to be highly sensitive to it with flakiness and itchiness. Even with the good gels I get the same reaction.
Oh but I do😊i was just asking a question but u decided to lie so I wanted to get the truth out of u😅even though I already knew✊by the way I love that video😘
Girl get your refund on the way out the door. If you can do better, please make a video and show the rest of us. If not, then take the video for what it is and keep it moving. Thanks for watching!
ah shucks i already went out the door, you think i could go back and get it? and if your going to make a video called "making your twist out last for 10 days" than gee, maby the twist out should actually last for 10 days. the title is misleading.
pwetty4r4 Aww... So... no video then??? The title is not misleading, your presumptuous attitude is what needs to be checked. You came on to the video with your own interpretations and expectations. Like I said, take the video for what it is, not for what you want or thought it to be.
I liked the video, but you retwisted two mo' times and I'm thinking I only want to twist two times in a fourteen day period because I'm thinking it would be too much manipulation to retwist and I ain't got that kinda time for my hair. It takes me 7-8 hrs to twist my hair.
MrTidleyWinks You can retwist your hair as often or seldom as you would like, but, trust me, retwisting your hair like this isn't excessive manipulation and is actually beneficial for your hair in the long run for a few of reasons: 1. You maintain consistent "fresh looking" definition 2. You don't allow your hair to shrink into it's full capacity; which, in turn, drastically reduces tangling and matting 3. You are able to remove accumulated shed hair, which again reduces tangling/matting issues 4. You are able to better maintain optimal moisture balance in your hair, which will reduce breakage and split ends. 5. It doesn't put too much stress on your hair because you aren't mechanically detangling it, you're in a sense just kinda keeping it detangled. Because of this you shouldn't experience much, if any, breakage so you shouldn't worry about that. A twistout is not a conventional "protective style" in a sense so you can't expect to go long periods of time without maintaining it because your hair's ends are constantly exposed to the environment so you need to re-instill moisture and protection for your hair. The most time spent on your twistout should be the initial 2 strand twists. I spent 1 hour and 40 minutes for my initial twistout. Afterwards, because you are twisting your hair in much larger sections it should cut down the time drastically. To do my basic 2-strand "retwist" only takes me about 25 minutes honestly. which to me is almost nothing if I can get 2-3 days out of that re-twistout. Also, I don't know if you have seen video #396 on how to do your twists easier and faster. But it may help you cut down on the time it takes you to twist your hair. Simple things like not parting with a comb or applying 4-5 products to every single subsection before you twist really cuts down on the time drastically. Hope that helps! Sorry for the long-windedness but I figured that others would have the same concerns as you so I wanted to be as thorough as possible.
Omg great tips check out my video I rock mine for the first two weeks, week three i perm Rod those babies, then a few days I did twist out then week 4 high puff listen here I wore the heck outa dem twist lol TFS 😍

grappell75 Thanks Nish!

Great video nice twist out
How do you keep your twistout from puffing up? Every time I do one it looks so nice and sleek when I take it down, no frizz at all, but the minute I step outside I look like I have a wavy afro.
What products do you use and where do you live?
I use olive oil hair lotion ORS for moisture and Cantu Shea butter curling cream.
Reside in the state of Michigan.
+Art Is A Passion 24 I'm not familiar with the new Cantu line. Do you do your twists wet or dry when setting for your twistout?
I always do it on wet hair, and let it dry over night.
+Art Is A Passion 24 you probably need a product with some better hold.
Lol! That's right, break it down, Ha!
Day 5 - Gave me life.......oh yes.
Life given...
i Am Really Hair Crushing Right Now
Then why u have eye liner on??
Maybe I missed it but did you use gel at all?
NAPPY LIFE Nope, I don't use gel for twistouts. Believe it or not, gel is actually horrible for this style because gel is designed to dry and hold the hair into a shape while applied to wet hair. +AfrikanHairGod Oh wow. Thanks for this explanation!
I always do blue magic grease twists works as a charm too
Beautiful!!
My hair would be a matted mess if I did that .
SuperPhdiva No it wouldn't trust me. If you do it properly it will work for you too
***** I don't think so. If I tie my hair down, it will be matted and flat. I cannot just shake my hair and go because it doesn't move.
I loved the video 😀 but after I realized I had watched this entire video and not one twist on my head was done 😒
Aww snap is right.....and you'll never guess how old I am....that's right 10👐im 10 years old😜
I hope as you grow and mature you will learn tolerance and respect for people who come from different walks of life.
Oh but I do😊i was just asking a question but u decided to lie so I wanted to get the truth out of u😅even though I already knew✊by the way I love that video😘
