    The blue was a bit startling, an unusual colour for steam engines I think. I like it though.

      I find them a bit on the small side for the skill set of a beginner.

    so . . . good looking isn't always well engineered . . . who'd have thunk it?
    no denying the beauty of these engines but if i had the requisite millions, i'd rather buy one of yours.

    I love them and probably add one to my collection at some point, but it was not clear if these were ready from Stuart or what type of kit they were made from.

      They were built from Casting sets - not ready made.

    I'm looking to build a mini machinist shop - a working one. I'm getting into watch making so why not. What model would be best suited to be retrofitted to run the equipment and stay oiled etc. PS yes I'll be using steam!

    • @keithappleton
      @keithappleton  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on the size of the machine tools . . .

    Hi Keith, I have watched many of your videos on steam engines for the last couple of years. Someone gave me a Stuart 10 H steam engine and I am in the process of machining it. My problem is taps and drills. I contacted a source over your way but have yet to hear from them. Can you help me with a source? I need 5ba,7ba taps drills, and dies. I think the rest is standard English. I have only been machining for a couple of years and have never tackled anything like this. Your video's are great . Do you have any that show machining one from beginning to end? Thank you.

It is currently up to part #19. For your supplies, please contact www.blackgates.co.uk - they have all that you need . . . . please Email my friend Mat and he will sort everything out for you ...... mat@blackgates.co.uk

    Both nice looking engines, Keith, but I have to ask... Is the steam chest cover on the blue engine a replacement, or is it merely mounted backwards?

    • @keithappleton
      @keithappleton  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I really don't know - these are not my engines .....

    How do you fix a model steam engine with this problem? 1:40

    • @keithappleton
      @keithappleton  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a common problem, please watch a few more of my videos.

      @unogazzy84 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@keithappleton I will watch your videos but now I'm only after the solution. You would think that finding a video like that would be easy since the issue it is very common...
