- In this video: I try to beat Kirby's Return to DreamLand Deluxe AND Magolor Epilogue without pressing right. I have wanted to do this challenge for a while but once I heard the deluxe edition of the wii game was going to release I knew I had to wait for it.
(also sorry if this seems a little anticlimactic, the boss battles were the easiest part in the game because of the dodging.)

Of course parasol is the best ability, it has been for the entire series. Nothing can change my mind.
FINALLY SOMEONE AGREES THAT PARASOL IS PEAK!!! I have more fun with that ability than I do with any other. It’s just so goooood!
Since parasol is good in damage on whispy woods by pressing down + B so i think its a W to parasol too!
Oh and its kinda good on some stages
water invincibility is the main reason I like it now

past onion ocean since water is usually a big roadblock for challenge runs like this. Nice job!
thanks, discovering something as powerful as direction storage (and parasol) was definitely key to completing that world

i just came to comments to say that
To use tornado properly you need to use the stick to move left and right, or also up and down if you hold b. So yeah you can’t really do anything with tornado except moving in the direction Kirby is facing and then cancelling it. Also you could’ve pressed minus to instantly get rid of an ability/player
i had no idea you could press minus to instantly remove an ability. (i know it worked in the wii version though, I just didn't think to try it out in this one)
In this game, holding b will use hyper tornado, not make kirby go up
@@magolor-3100 I know, you need to charge hyper tornado to be able to move upwards
Pretty much just use tornado, then hold up. You'll fly upwards while moving in the direction you were facing.
Now of course the problem with it is lack of control or a "stop" button compared to Forgotten Land's version where there WAS a move to instantly stop the tornado.
As a local Tornado expert I appreciate this video, but am also laughing as I hold B and Up while rebounding off every left wall to skip 90% of this.
4:41 Festival Kirby is a screen nuke, just like Crash and Mike. It's still bottom tier for this challenge, but now you know (also, if you have Helper Magolor on, he'll show up during the dance playing an instrument).
oh, that is good to know. (I assumed it was a screen wipe but I didn't want to use it again because it would've been useless)

8:34 if you think you're bad at using a copy ability, you can always check the pause menu for it's moves
I think I only did that for Magolor and tornado
You know they are extremely committed to their challenge when they don't even press right in the menus, I expected you to just ignore navigating menus but you didn't and instead factored them into your challenge.

If you stack Kirby on meta knight and then use meta knights shuttle loop ability you can get controlled height and distance to the right while only having to press up and down for control.

My "Touhou phase" (basically me playing, looking out for memes and listening to osts) has been like 5/6 years ago.
However, two friends of mine (that must love me very much) decided to play it again and after 4 months of spamming me memes trying to get me to play it again they succeded. And now I'm back on it so it's even more appreciated. Also, a big GG for the challenge!

beam can cheese wispy woods, sure. but my personal favorite way to cheese wispy is with sword's attack + down (in that order) in midair. you do a sort of shovel knight bounce, and similarly to beam you don't have to move once it gets going. it's a little bit harder to actually start compared to beam though.
Gotta say I was not expecting this to be possible. You definitely surprised me with all the multiplayer collision shenanigans. Wonder what challenges would be feasible in crystal shards, I feel like copy abilities have less movement potential in that game.
I was thinking of playing kirby 64 at some point for a challenge, I think it would be cool to see.

nope, I never pressed right. I touch the ground which makes me face to the right therefore storing the direction Kirby is facing.
(I disabled my right button so there was no possible way I could've pressed it)

Hey Ansel, didn't know this when I first watched the video cuz I still didn't have the game but mecha isn't useless. Using the charged shot while facing left will send you a bit to the right kinda like spark and it works mid air

The next time you do one of these, I think it'd be interesting to have the amount of time it required to complete the challenge on screen. I wouldn't be surprised if some of these levels took over 20 minutes to figure out a new gimmick for and complete...
most of my recordings for this video were 40+ minutes.

Yo, I have an idea for a challenge you can do! I call it the 2 player Challenge, there’s one person and 2 players in game, you have to beat the story mode with those two characters in game at all times, you can use any character you want and you can switch between the characters at any time, but only one character at a time. You can ride on the other character too if you need to, and if one of the characters die, then you have restart the entire level (or you can make kirby die and restart the area, if that’s too harsh) and if you want a harder challenge, you can try with 4 players! This is just a challenge that I wanted you to do, but it might be a little hard, so you don’t have to do it!

@@Ansel_G Challenge: there’s two in game characters (maybe kirby and dedede) and you’re controlling them both but you have to use one at a time, for like super copy abilities etc. you can use any characters you want for the challenge, and if one dies, you have to restart the stage, or if that’s too harsh, just have kirby die, if he didn’t already, the goal is to try and beat the Story Mode, and no souvenir items.

What about Meta Knight's Shuttle Loop? I think that would help make some of Kirby's "story" way easier tbh. Automatic height and right distance, you can even chain them together with a jump in-between.
can't really do much other characters that aren't kirby since they can't go right either. (they also teleport to player 1 if they get too far)

@@Ansel_G it is! i'm not sure if kirby can be on top of meta while he's using it, though.
@@Ansel_G Actually, it exists, the move needs up down b to activate and makes meta knight fly right for some distance, it's really good for this challenge and fortunately, if you go above mk with Kirby and hold down you will climb mk and be able to control him

Is it possible to beat Kirby RTDL without moving the main Kirby and only carrying it with others ?
Someone else mentioned meta knight’s shuttle loop so it might be possible.
With sand ability it basically has half of high jump, there for not useless when it is needed to get past high areas

@@Ansel_G after playing around with it does not have that much use for moving right other than being used under slopes. However it is very useful for dealing with bosses without having to move because while you are in the block you are invincible and the sand jump can combo into down + b mid air which can deal decent damage plus you have access to down + up + b which deals decent damage aswell. (It is mainly just a damager)
Not only kirby Is useful. You can use Meta Knight's shuttle loop to fly right!

Nope, I pressed left, up, and down over and over again. The UI just shows the right press regardless if you press it or not. (It even shows it if you go afk, it’s pretty much just showing what you need to do)
The righr button was unbound anyways so I couldn’t use it in that moment even if I wanted to.
You can also shake your controller here.
you do know you can pause and go to the lor and the world map right
You’d need to press right to reach everywhere ahead of world 1

I like these types of videos, but I don't appreciate the clickbait thumbnail that says "going right" instead of "pressing right" because obviously one is way more bonkers than the other, and I probably wouldn't have clicked had I known this was just another "pressing right" thing.
