- Welcome to this channel, My name is Yvonne. I'm a soap maker in Taiwan.
I've been receiving a lot of messages asking about how to make the transparent soap base. I've tried it in 2014 when my best friend was taking the professional soaping course and we made the homework together. I didn't like it at all.
I tried the easier way to make this batch and photo right after unmold (the transparency will fade a bit after days).
【配方Recipe】
椰子油 coconut oil: 70g
硬脂酸 stearic acid: 30g
99%氫氧化鈉 sodium hydroxide: 17g
純水 distilled water: 33g
甘油 glycerin: 35g
酒精 ethanol: 105g
冰糖 rock suger: 35g
純水 distilled water: 25g
This making process is more dangerous than the CP soap, please don't try it unless you are already very familiar with manipulating lye.

Thank you for sharing this! Did you use 70% ethanol? And how many days did the soap remain transparent for? And did it sweat?
mam, when it’s ready can I Again melt it and add flavour? and when heat up is it high heat or medium?

I have tried several recipes but yours turned out to be the best, but I would like to use less alcohol as the smell is too strong.
Can you give recipe with propylene glycol, I tried substituting half of the alcohol with PG but the result was opaque soap!

You would need to let the alcohol evaporates and soap is not something that can be used right away as it’s extremely drying. That’s why most commercially made real transparent soap gets cured for 60-90 days. And they polish the soap.
Mam may I use water bath boiler to heat glycerine / alcohol

Yes, it’s ok to remelt, but some yellowish may occur.

About the tranparancy will fade a bit after few day, I have learn from someone that u have to wrap thr soap with plastic wrap right after unmold the soap
为什么我试做的当氢氧化钠溶于水后加入椰子油和硬脂酸的时候不是凝固状而是水水的。椰子油和硬脂酸也是不容易融化，要很高温对吗？

stoves without fire, like induction, hotplate, ceramic...etc.
I assume you could add an essential oil such as lavender to give it a fragrance and perhaps a small amount of colorant?
Sure, scent and color are interesting
u should try remelting it afrer it hardens, use like regular soap base.

- can this soap be used as melt and poor?

- it doesn’t really matter because I cooked them together eventually
- boil
- replace glycerin with propylene glycol would be easier to melt again
Also .is this recipe need to curring time also .cause hydroxide potassium as h .sodium

I have tried this receipe but why my soap base became completely white... Please guide.
I had used ethanol 95%
And the quantity of water decreased while I heated to dissolve rock sugar into water
I am really not getting what mistakes I have done.
The temperature through out the process was 160f .

Why didn't you use castor oil?

這種皂做完酒精味道很重是正常的嗎?還有甘油能用橄欖油取代嗎？這樣做出來的皂體會有何差異？皂中加入糖水，放置時會長螞蟻嗎？這種皂一般能存放多久的時間
酒精味正常，不適合換成油，不會長螞蟻

Yes, you may try higher glycerin, but the transparency will be different.

Yes, any sugar will do
I wonder who first thought this up? They definitely had to know a bit of chemistry. I have everything but rock sugar. Does regular sugar work ? Anybody? I’m not sure if Rick sugar has any added ingredients.
I don’t know who first thought of it, but the first time I met it is in the physical and chemistry class in junior high school.
The rock sugar is more pure than the granulated sugar, but you may replace it with any sugar.
What percentage did you use for the items pls.

噴酒精是為了消泡，99%或75%都沒太大影響，市售皂基可以直接用(就無香無色)

C18:0成皂耐用、溫和，真皂率20%以上即可，其他都可以自行調配，成皂也會有些差異。

Yes, just double it. Double boil or induction stove are fine, as long as there’s no fire
