    What might the drive look like during Christmas-new years time coming from Los Angeles area? Thinking of visiting to find out if we can move out there next summer but we need to drive instead of fly.

      Hi Yeneyev! This is Amber from Mark’s team. I am originally from SoCal myself and have done the drive many times. The drive itself can be a bit snowy/icy depending on which route you choose to take. If you take I70 through Utah, you will likely encounter more weather than if you take the I40 through Arizona and New Mexico. Once you get in to the Springs you should be fine. We generally don’t have much snow in December. That being said, anything is possible! My best advice is to watch the weather reports and choose your route accordingly. If you have any more questions, feel free to reach out. Amber@myfrontrangeliving.com
      Hope you have a great day!

      Thankfully our snow doesn't usually stick around too long. But, yes, driving in the snow can be tricky if you aren't used to it.

    I'm going to study in the USA, in California during 6 moths, after that I'd like to move to colorado spring to work at the BMW dealership you got there, I'm from the Caribbean zone so probably to me winter is going to be freezing in comparison with a regular USA resident

    Can someone please explain the changing of tires (from snow tires, or using chains) process? Is it necessary? I have a new Honda Accord.

    • @MyFrontRangeLiving
      @MyFrontRangeLiving  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Larry! I have a Honda Accord as well and have never used snow tires or chains. I have heard that snow tires may be helpful occasionally, but in my opinion, we typically don’t get enough snow at one time to justify them. Hope this helps!

    • @MyFrontRangeLiving
      @MyFrontRangeLiving  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Our weather is very unpredictable! It could be 50 degrees and sunny or it could be snowing! Roads are usually decently maintained.

    I'm in South Florida. Moved from Naples FL to Tampa FL a year ago. It's hot down here. We finally decided to move to Colorado Springs. Got an apartment and move next week.
    We're really excited. I feel like the lower snow might be a good transition from the hot year round Florida weather.

    How many days out of a year would you say is snow days? Approximately. Looking to move in January from Texas .

    • @MyFrontRangeLiving
      @MyFrontRangeLiving  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Are you asking how many days do we get any amount of snow? Or, enough snow for it to stick around and cause delays etc.?

      @@MyFrontRangeLiving yes sorry I mean any amount of snow!

    • @MyFrontRangeLiving
      @MyFrontRangeLiving  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@alexandralacy3445 that’s a tough one! We have so many days where the snow doesn’t stick at all, so it’s hard to account for that. It also depends on what part of town you are in. The north end tends to get a little more snow. Our schools typically have 4-6 snow days per school year.

      I’m from south Texas where elevation is below 1000 feet above sea level, and I feel like every time I come to CO I get a sunburn pretty quickly when I rarely get one in San Antonio if I’m careful. I can definitely tell the difference.
