These cars were amazing. I remember hearing blasting down the back straight on my local track back in the day. You could hear them over everything else on the track, I will always remember that inline 6 scream. I miss ALMS, to me it was the most entertaining and exciting sports car racing series.
Ah!!! This is one my favorite ALMS cars, along with the e46 M3 GTR V8 Monster... I remember the E36 cars sporting the Green/White scheme before the this current livery. Great sounding straight six for sure, until the Panoz GTR-1 rolled by, and then you go deaf.

The BMW Is Like A Touring Car
BMW engines... The son and the power! 👍🏁😉
I'm amazed how this engine sounds so close to the S70/2.
Damn those gear ratios are on point, straight back into the power band, this has to be 400bhp?
If its the GT3 car it has 399bhp, If it is the GT2 car it has 517bhp. If it still has the 1998 specifications.
Ryan B no way this car has 517hp, there’s a reason why they developed the P60B40 for the M3 GTR
Nice track, nice car and nice driving! It seems he doesn't use the clutch but still with an H-pattern gearbox?
Most likely a dogbox transmission, could be wrong
I want one
R8 LMP out of nowhere
is that a s54 swap?
God no, it's an S50B32. One of the greatest BMW engines ever made
Well it's not better than the p60b40 .
For sure the p60b40 took the crown for BEST BMW ENGINE EVER
@@seanoconnor8135 S52B32. It's a 1997, not a 1995.
@@ryanb9749 didn't all GTRs use the euro engine? Or is this built on a US car with the S52 engine?
@@seanoconnor8135 S50s were built 1992 -1995. S52 1996 - 1999. It's the transition from OBD I to OBD II. Nothing about mericas crappy engine. Lol
