- There are now many 'all-terrain' powerchair offerings on the market today of which I've been able to test many. However I believe that the Extreme X8 from Magic Mobility is possibly the best option out there, not just for it's outstanding performance but also it's functional and diverse seating, it's compact nature and it's robust reliability.
I haven't been able to take the chair on snow or sand as yet but I really hope this gives you a better understanding of the Extreme X8's capabilities.

Finally, someone is seeing that just because we use wheelchairs, does not mean we want to stop having fun. I hope someday I can get one of these!

Just got mine a couple of days ago. Mega upgrade from previous PWC. Can't wait to hit the beach for fishing. Been 20 years.

I looked and got to tried out a action track wheelchair after seeing this chair kinda glad I didn't end up getting the track chair because of how big and how much slower it is compare to the X8 I like to go fast! lol seeing this I hope I can get my hands on one of these! looks so fun and having that freedom would be amazing to go anywhere would be awesome!

Can I get a lift for chair and tilt ?
I really like the features of this chair, but I am wondering how much you used your legs contra your core muscles when riding it? I have neurological issues and my muscles are weak and really act up/hurt if I use them much at all...
Hello Klas, thank you so much for getting in touch. The level of muscle usage/fatigue very much depends on the seating system in place. Naturally due to the environment that the X8 will be used in, you will experience additional fatigue, however this can be managed with the appropriate seating in place. The chair is essentially a blank canvas, therefore any third party seating/bespoke option can be fitted. Hope this helps
Haven't proven anything ‼️ Take it on some of Florida's Sugar Sand or on deep beach sand, also are the motors chain drive?
I want one but only way would be able to would be to use it as every day chair too & not sure it suitable for going round shops, public transport etc lol
Haha no not quite the chair for around town! They do a MWD equivalent though...

What about wet/dry loose sand like at the beach?

Is the X8 cost prohibited? Is this chair something I would have to purchase without insurance? Do you ship/deliver? The VA provided me with a Q700, which I love, but it's big and heavy (415 lb) so I can't take it off-road.
Hi Denny, thank you for your comment. The X8 definitely isn't a cheap powerchair option but in the UK the starting price is very similar to the Q700 Sedeo Ergo so dependant on your model it could be comparable. I wouldn't know the answer regarding insurance unfortunately but my advice would be to contact your insurer for further information. As for shipping, this could be arranged although depending on your location you maybe better off communicating with Magic Mobility as they will direct you to the most appropriate dealer in your area. Have they ever been know to to tip over with careful use?
Hello Else! Thank you for your comment. With careful use no the chair will not tip over. However for example, if you push a car beyond what it can handle it'll will inevitably roll or spin off the road, the same applies to the X8. Hope this helps

1. Between the rear wheels there was, I think, an anti tip bar. Did this catch?
2. Could this fit in the back of an SUV. I use an (now obsolete) Alber Adventure. It does well off road (but not that well,) and can be ramped into an estate.
3. Am I right to assume this is never for indoor use, to be kept outside or in a garage?

Yes that's correct, the roll bar is purely optional and only beneficial for those tackling steep inclines that require extra rear stability. In everyday use this can get in the way when dropping down a kerb or in tight storage situations. Normally I'd recommend this option and any others following an assessment.
Yes, depending on the options selected, the backrest can be removed or part folded so access into a suitably sized SUV is absolutely possible.
The chair has been built specifically for an outdoor environment therefore only a very accessible property would allow it to be used indoors.

This is very good wheelchair some other wheelchairs couldn't do what your wheelchair can do. But can your wheelchair go into my home and though snow? It never shows how much this coast I would like have water proof for my cellphone, fishing holder, cup holder and is it water resistant?

The Extreme X8 can easily tackle snow and although not that manoeuvrable in tight spaces, I have known users to operate the chair indoors, just depends on the space available. Price is never mentioned due to the prescriptive nature of the chair and difference in price structure relative to the country you're in. Hope that makes sense
i have a side lift full size handicap van. after i'm in the vehicle, if you push joystick all the way right or left, the chair moves sideways. it helps lining up for travel in the van. also helps in tight spaces. not good on rug or carpet though. works well in snow or ice. it can get wet, but don't submerge the motors or electronics. bought mine a few years ago. cost me about $17k usd. great chair for off road use.
How many miles or kilometers would you guess that you went while testing it during the day

Would I be able to use this chair on public transport? I would need to to get to the places I want to go.
Hi again Ash, it's not impossible but it wouldn't be easy. The focus is on outdoor performance rather than indoor manoeuvrability

Thanks for getting in touch, the price is dependant on options and location which is why I tend to leave it out. In the UK the X8 starts from £15,950 and the current average lead time is 12 weeks. This is due to decrease as they are opening a distribution facility in Germany. I am a disabled vet , the VA is getting me one of these next month ,.. I can't wait.
For the last 5 years my world stopped at the end of the pavement.
There getting me the add ons so i can Shoot and enjoy archery again with the one hand i have left.
plopping a portable generator on back and they have a small minioff road trailer the x8 can pull which gives me the ability to pack a tent and go on multi day hunts by myself again.
