- No One Knows by Queens of the Stone Age has some fantastic drumming in it and this drum tutorial breaks down all the fills and beats in the song. The song itself might be a little old now but the Dave Grohl drum part is classic and really fun to work on, so hopefully this drum video helps you to figure out any bits you're stuck on and get jamming along! It's hard to imagine Grohl learned to drum by himself. I mean that herta rudiment is not easy to figure out from just listening to other musician.

@@sifugurusensei those hertas are my new nemesis! I couldn't bring them up to speed if my life depended on it😬 I actually replaced them with some triplets..it's not the same but it's the best i can do for now. Best of luck to you!
@@sifugurusensei i just tried something..instead of using singles i tried to use doubles..i'm not at the tempo of the song yet, but it seems to be a little easier. Maybe this will help :D good luck!

Great lesson but in the groove after the triplet fills in the chorus section has a little mistake, the kick pattern is also in triplets, you should place de kick in the first and third triplets on beats 1 and 3, otherwise it would sound completely different. Besides that, is a great lesson...loved how you explained the fills, pretty easy to understand!

On the section that starts at 0:58 the second snare hit on the 2nd bar (4th and 6th bars too) is placed on the second 8th note of the 3rd pulse. Wouldn't it be more acurate to say that it's actually placed on the 3rd note of a 8th note triplet of that 3rd pulse? Same happens with the very last hit on the fill in this same section.
Sorry if my english is messy, it's not my first language.
I write it straight because it’s easier to read, but you are correct! It swings and so every “and” of the beat is actually the last triplet of that beat.

I have Evans Coated G2s and I think a Genera on the snare.

That pattern is also called Hertas so I’m sure you could find tutorials on how to play them fast.

Yep! RLRL, two quick ones two spaced out ones. If you look up Hertas too there’s a bunch of marching drum stuff about them.
