- For an upcoming road trip my family needed a way to mount a Starlink Mini in our 2024 Tesla Model Y Performance to have service while driving. I show how to assemble the mount and show how to attach it to the inside of the Model Y.
The strong flexible suction cups securely attach the mount to the vehicle and allow for in motion use of the Starlink Mini.

Great idea
The dc option would be much more power efficent than running the ac inverter to plug in the ac power cord. Could go dc to your power station
Maybe 12v usb
I’d be very interested in speed test compared to outside of the glass on the rear window and the roof glass. I have a 24 model Y performance and might consider doing something similar.
That’s a great idea, it’s something I’ll put into the pipeline of videos for the future
Thanks for the video. How has the starlink mini mounted in the rear window worked in terms of speed and reliability? Curious minds wanna know. Thanks!
I mounted it on the inside of the roof for a 4k+ mile road trip as we needed all the space in the back and the Starlink got in the way. Speeds were great being top mounted.
@ thanks for sharing your experience.
If you just put it in the backseat and facing upwards through the top glass window, would it still work?
@@Socal_Geo1 I did a road trip last month and mounted it to the roof glass vs the trunk glass as we needed the space. It worked great through the roof! If it’s just sitting on the back seat it might work, but you’re gonna have some issues with it moving around while you drive or signal being blocked from the body of the car.
I was wondering if the mounting location blocks the view when using rear view mirror?
@@vicborgogno6757 it does block it, yes. But you can also use this same mount to put the Starlink on the glass roof too, this wouldn’t block the back mirror.
what % is the tint
@@sairangineeni 25% tint all around
Any issues with rattling noises?
Zero issues of rattling from the mount or power station. The suction cups work great holding it to the window :)
@@MyModelYAdventure Thank you!
