"The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We've all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we've all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher's Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls. The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn't behave that way. Only a dog does. That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

_ That is what the Emp believe
_ Personally I don't think that's the worst problem with revealing Chaos
+ The biggest danger in the Emp revealing Chaos(including all of the "upside" & downside) to humanity is that if every human(from the Age of Strive onward) know about Chaos, a huge part of the population would join Chaos as a desperate gamble to escape their darkest hour(things were already bad for most of the population, so Chaos wouldn't seem that bad at 1st glance, short term), not just the degenerates
+ If the Dark Age of Technology found out about Chas, most would declare Chaos as the true enemy & seek to destroy it. Because there are not a lot the Gods can offer humanity at its peak. Sure, the people knowing would still impower the Gods but with the might of humanity at its peak + the Emperor helping, Chaos power would shrink day by day(especially if they can get the Eldar to help). & With all the safeguard in place on a galactic scale, the Age of Strife itself would be less bad with the new psykers being more trained & disciplined.
+ Also the people from Dark Age of Tech were already atheist for the most part(since they didn't feel the need to pray for a higher power), while the time of the Great Crusade most planets became religious due to their hard life. The plan to make humanity atheist to stave the Gods was very hard in canon

    Resident warhammer lore guy here:
The thing that most people forget entirely is, Fulgrim isn't taken over by ONE daemon. It's TWO. See, there was a daemon summoned via a painting to take over his body. Fulgrim starts getting trapped in the painting, while the painting daemon takes over Fulgrim's body. But. Fulgrim is a primarch, so it's not that easy. He gets the Laer blade, which also has a daemon in it. It wasn't until the fight against Ferrus Manus that the daemons win. Fulgrim couldn't kill his brother, the daemon in the sword did that. Fulgrim lost in that moment and was trapped in the painting, in the theater aboard his flagship.
THEN LATER GW RETCONNED IT WITH A SINGLE LINE IN A SHORT STORY, BECAUSE WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS. WE CAN'T JUST HAVE OUR PORTRAIT OF DORIAN GREY STORY. I GET IT. SPACE IS BIG. BUT LIKE GW IS GONNA REDEEM FULGRIM EVER.

Uh... As I recall, the daemon in the painting and the daemon of the Laer Blade are one and the same. Like the painting was so horrific that the daemon in the Laer Blade thought it looked nice and homey, but the painting didn't originally have a daemon in it despite obviously being suffused with Slaaneshi Warp nonsense, and when it took over Fulgrim's body it shoved his soul into the painting out of some twisted sense of sadistic generosity. Then, when Fulgrim got out, he forced the daemon that was originally in the Laer Blade into the painting and left it there, although the jury is still out over whether all of Fulgrim's soul went back to his body, because everybody was convinced that the returned Fulgrim was still the daemon, meaning his personality was so radically different that he resembled a Fulgrim impersonator more than the genuine article, which implies that the worst parts of Fulgrim's soul might have been what reentered his body and the parts of him that would, say, feel shame and guilt split off from the trauma just like Magnus's soul.

    Nux.
Lion El Johnson does not represent Justice. He is distrust, paranoia, and secrecy. There are, in fact, 2 primarchs who Id describe as representing 2 sides of justices.
Konrad Kurze, Primach of the Nightlords, the Night Haunter. He is vengeful justice, zealous, the individuals justice. He is often referred to as "evil space batman". He often wore human skin robes, capes, and other such attire. On his home world of Nostramo he enacted a bloody murder spree of all the criminals, rapists, murderers, people committing suicide. No Im not kidding with that last one.
Corvus Corax, primarch of the Ravenguard, The Raven King, my own genefather, a blatant E.A. Poe reference. He landed on the moon that would one day become known as Deliverance. He was found and raised by the enslaved miners and sheltered from the slaver overlords. He would lead a slave uprising and save his people at the cost of thousands and possibly millions as he had to make a vital decision. He represents blind justice, compassionate judgment, an avenger of the wronged, the peoples justice.

I'm trying to imagine that. Fulgrim landing on Chogoris and sticking out like a sore thumb among the tribals or crashing into the more 'civilized' parts of Chogoris and having to reconcile the excesses of the Palatine Empire with the barbarism of the nomadic steppe-folk of the Empty Quarter.
Meanwhile, on Chemos, everybody is debating whether or not they should try to kill baby Jaghatai(who for comedy's sake I will assume was born with facial hair and a topknot), but he just keeps staring at them really hard, so they decide to adopt him because they're afraid of what might happen if they actually try to hurt the baby Jaghatai, who for his part starts speed-running civilization and makes Chemos not only incredibly productive, but also weirdly upbeat where the people still live relatively Spartan lifestyles, but find amusement in work and their ever-growing free time as Chemos slowly rediscovers and invents its own cultural artistry.

In the book Ferrus Manus: the Gorgon of Medusa, it was said, "The Primarch was wrath made manifest. An avatar of the Emperor's desire for conquest. Clad in sutured iron." I choose this as the real aspect of the Emperor that Ferrus Manus embodies. Considering his upbringing on his homeworld and his desire to conquer the things around him as a means of improving himself. In the same book, Ferrus Manus himself says under his breath, "I am imperfect." And Fulgrim says, " What is that, brother? It is unlike you to be mordlin." This took place before horus even became warmaster, long before he fell to chaos.

A big thing they quickly glossed over was that when Fulgrim was given his legion there were only 300 marines compared to the 60,000-150,000 others had. His legion suffered from a severe disease which devastated it. He was eventually able to cure them of this disease but due to their low numbers they would be assigned to join Horus for a significant time while their numbers were replenished which is what made Fulgrim be so close to Horus.
Ferrus Manus basically caused his own death. At the time of the Heresy he had one of the strongest legions out there, but upon hearing of Horus’s treachery he raced to Istvan V with the forces he had at hand and did not wait for the rest of his legion to arrive. He rushed in to duel Fulgrim thus splitting up his forces even more which made him extremely outnumbered.
Ferrus also wasn’t a great leader per se. He had a “survival of the fittest” mentality and would greatly encourage his generals to have rivalries and fight amongst each other. The only thing that held the legion together was Ferrus himself. After his death the generals of his legion just couldn’t stand each other and refused to work together which made them not a real threat to Horus anymore.

In their first fight, Ferrrus kinda beat himself. When he destroyed Fireblade, it caused a big explosion that sent Ferrus reeling, then Fulgrim simply knocked him out with Forgebreaker. In their second fight, Ferrus actually had the upper hand, but the Laer Blade convinced Fulgrim to draw it before Ferrus could land a killing blow.

Hey Nux, just a quick point on the Lion since you brought him up in the beginning of the vid. Lion El’Johnson wasn’t the most “just” primarch, and didn’t embody “justice”. That was more the point Dorn (he was very stubborn, very blunt, very letter of the law).
The Lion more demonstrated the Emperor’s suspicion and, connected, self-sufficiency. You see this in how he refuses to hold council with his sons and accepts NO backtalk. This is a trait he had since he was a feral child in the woods all the way until he was struck down by his longest friend Luthor.
His sons, the Dark Angels, carry these traits. They are the most secretive marines left in the Imperium, and will drop any mission, ignore any command, in order to hide the secret of their greatest humiliation: the Fallen (traitor Dark Angels under Luthor during heresy).
As far as the Imperium is concerned, no Dark Angel ever turned traitor. And except for the Lion returning, they would have never learned.

They were so skilled in their methods of war that among all 20 Legions they had the lowest amount of casualties per world conquered. Meaning while they weren’t the largest or the strongest, they made up for it by having every individual marine be as skilled in every battlefield role possible to ensure no matter what, someone could fill in and take command.

So a daemon prince is almost like the fusion of a mortal and the essence of their patron god equal to a greater demon. They are intertwined into basically becoming a pseudo slave to the god directly but it comes with nonsensical power. Basically, as long as they follow the path their lord commands, they can do what they want... and also, because they're now a daemon themselves, the daemon princes are immortal as they will be reformed by their god when they die.

The scene happens after the battle and all the traitor Primarchs from Isstvaan are having dinner and conversating, all except Lorgar who was sat up straight, hands folded and resting on his chin and absolutely GLARING at Fulgrim. While yes Lorgar was actually the first to have possessed Astartes he called the "Gal-Vorbak", they were a symbiotic bonding between transhuman physiology and a daemon. It was voluntary through and through. The way the daemon took Fulgrim's body though? That was a big no from him

29:00 Eldrad wasn't the leader of the Eldar in general, he was just arguably the most powerful single Eldar player alive and held a lot of sway within his Craftworld of Ulthwe (which overall is the most psychically powerful). The important thing is that he is the best at seeing into possible futures and the most active in the setting plot-wise.
41:09 Lorgar was thoroughly within the Chaos camp by this point, but he was enraged that a daemon was possessing Fulgrim because his vision of serving Chaos was meant to uplift and enlighten humanity into the dominant species in the galaxy by showing them the truth off the Universe and by working symbiotically with Chaos, not being slave to it. This was exemplified by the Gal Vorbak, elite Word Bearers who voluntarily allowed daemons into their body and merged with them to become more effective.
49:18 After the Heresy, the Emperor decreed that since the 3rd Legion had fallen to Chaos, the Space Marine legions who remained loyal would have the right to wear the Aquila, since they did what the Emperor's Children could not.

Nux, the Primarchs and their Legions often acted as diplomats to the various factions around the galaxy during the Great Crusade, so they often were the de facto representatives of the Emperor and the Imperium as a whole. In fact, the Emperor's Children were considered consumate diplomats because there was only a few hundred of them left before Fulgrim's return, so rather than fighting and dying on the front lines the 3rd were often called in for less risky assignments that still required the involvement of Astartes forces, like sending a squad of Legionaires to attend peace talks, trade agreements, or negotiations. It should also be noted that the 3rd Legion was specifically drawn from Terran nobles who would offer up their children to the Emperor as a demonstration of loyalty and fealty, hence why he decided to call them 'The _Emperor's_ Children' and not 'Fulgrim's Children' or 'the Sons of Fulgrim'; the 3rd Legion were already the 'Emperor's Children' before Fulgrim arrived.
It should also be noted that while the Terran-born members of the 3rd Legion were essentially cut off from their families and indoctrinated to be fanatically loyal to the Emperor and the Imperium, they were still aware of their origins as Terran nobility and endeavored to conduct themselves as such, and part of that was being well-spoken and politically savvy enough to have discussions with other nobles without offending them and, hopefully, getting them to lend the Imperium support without constant threat of violence.
As an aside, the 3rd Legion actually received the honor of bearing the Imperial Aquila as part of their Legion's standard after foiling an assassination attempt made on the Emperor at the cost of their own lives, which is why the Emperor held them in such high regard. But it is important to note that this happened BEFORE Fulgrim was rediscovered on Chemos and brought back to Terra. It should also be noted that, in an early display of vanity and hubris, Fulgrim commissioned a painting of himself receiving the Aquila from the Emperor personally as if he had been there and received the honor directly from the Emperor himself. Granted, Fulgrim didn't technically lie about the events and probably considered the painting symbolic of how his sons had earned him the honor of bearing the Emperor's personal symbol as his own, but it's quite telling how, even at his most innocent, Fulgrim still considered his Legion's accomplishments as his own even when he wasn't around.

Necron Lord, who collects relics from the entire universe) owns a perfect clone of the uncorrupted Fullgrim (who is kept in a stasis). The thing about Fulgrim is for a bit it seemed like they were writing him to have a potential redemption after his transformation but then suddenly changed direction

Nux, the Lion's trait wasn't justice it is loyalty. That's why the emperor never doubted the Lion when the heresy broke out and why he reacted so harshly when Luther almost betrayed him. Which if Luther never wavered when the nuke had been found ejecting it then and there, there would have not been any damage to the ship or casualties. The exile was a mercy to his "brother" considering the Lion has killed for much less. As Lion El Johnson once famously said "loyalty is it's own reward"

Warhammer lore is tragic af but also super inspiring to me. Because the fact humanity lives on the edge of destruction in a literal battle with gods who are seeking its destruction and hanging on. Not winning but not losing in this weird state of balance but what it has to do to both humanity and the universe to just achieve that is inspiring. Life at all cost humanity at all cost. But in it there is survival, life, love and death.
