    This is what real-life heroes look like.
    Forget visions of Arnie in "Commando" or Sylvester in "Rambo".
    The world's toughest soldiers are these small brown men from Nepal.

    High standard of musicianship. Fast military music and the Gurkhas' fast pace is a great combination. Love the bugle choruses.

    Excellent Video. Shows how flexible Military Bands have to be these days. Although the Band looked slightly uncomfortable marching at the pace that is the Military Standard Pace.

    • @lesdavies6846
      @lesdavies6846 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It' s the Light Infantry pace on the way to Windsor Castle and standard pace on return to barracks !

      Apart from the bugle section the bands are part of The Royal Corps of Army Music so they would be used to the All Arms pace of 120 and when posted to The Band and Bugles of The Rifles they would up it to 140. The bugles are drawn from the various Rifles battalions.

    Wow, cool tempo! The bass drummer really got his workout today on the long walk in LOL was the march pace faster than usual, or did it just seem that way? ....amazing job as always, thanks for bringing this to us!

      Yes the pace was faster than usual due to it being the Band of The Rifles leading, which march around 140 paces a minute. Instead of the stately 116 paces a minute that we usually see when the one of the Guards Band lead.

    • @SkepticalRaptor
      @SkepticalRaptor 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The regular pace is usually 116 or 120 steps per minute depending on the music. This was 140 steps per minute because they were The Rifles.

    Are there any Riflemen out there that can tell me why some of the bandsmen wear black (or is it dark grey) tunics and not Rifle Green ones?

    • @johnbrockman8366
      @johnbrockman8366 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      When the Green Jackets and Light Infantry merged in 2007 to make the 7 rifles Battalion and the band and bugles of The Rifles had their uniform changed, they had red added to represent their antecedent regiment Kings Royal Rifle Corp

    • @johnsabini2330
      @johnsabini2330 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Might be due to lighting on the video all rifle green. The changes to the No.1 dress from The Light Division was the black trousers, prior to creation of The Rifles - The Light Infantry had dark blue and The RGJ had rifle green same as the jackets. Other tweaks were rank chevrons with silver trim. The bugles have a thin line on the collars alluding to the two redcoat regiments that became rifles The D & D and RGBW.
