Another gem of a video, thank you. I'd love to know why they haven't released a full length DVD of all this amazing footage ? Keep up the good work :)

Incredible Empire footage. Amazing that there is so much archive material..
I am always disappointed that there is no footage of the Falcon gunport sets. How they filmed that sequence in STAR WARS, and how the mechanics of the set worked.
    Maybe some day.
    Fingers crossed.

Really pleased you liked this vid Mark. I've got lots of other content coming out over the next couple of months so keep your eyes peeled.
It's a great idea of yours about the gun port sets, I'll scour everywhere and see if I can find any behind the scenes footage of them.

      @@70sSciFiBoy Hello.
Yes, this is totally fascinating to me. All this archive footage is interesting to watch. As a child I was as interested in how the films were made as much as the films themselves. I recall a general fascination in the public about how the films were created. My friends were all interested and bought whatever reading material we could. I think I mentioned before that I used to call Elstree after school in 79 and talk to people working on the film. Just call, and the telephonist would put me through to somebody.
I always loved the gun turret sequence in STAR WARS, but have never seen any documentary footage of this scene being filmed. I was fascinated with the entire set. Especially the gun outside and above the window, on a special mounting.
If you ever see a film from 1976 called "At the Earth's Core" (with Peter Cushing) look at the hand controls of the "Mole". They are the same controls as used on the gun turrets that Hamill and Ford use to track the guns.

In 1977 l was 13 and seeing SW on the big screen for the time was awesome, l only seen it once and only once an didn’t see again for 3 yrs until the re release in 1980 w the trailer of ESB , my brother and l went back all that week end to see it over 3 times and excited about new trailer. To me Yoda was a real as The other cast members we didn’t see no puppet. When ROTJ came out l was 18 and enjoyed the entire film except for the furball Ewoks kicking the crap out of the mighty Empire seriously didn’t sale me on that one.

Damn they really built Dagobah in a damn studio! I thought they traveled to the Louisiana for that. And all that in the 80s!!!
