It may very well have been he didn't really care to react at that time but gave in to the pressure. If anyone that was there during the stream can either confirm or deny this was the case

To that one chatter, 1812 was a draw. Canada didn’t exist yet and the war was with the British empire, not specifically with Canada, which didn’t exists as I said. Not much changed and there were major victories on both sides (albeit the most well known American victory technically happened after the war). The Americans also burned down Canadian capitals (Canada was multiple separate colonies at the time, and they burnt down two capitals I think. York was the one I remember them burning down specifically). It’s a minor pet peeve but as someone who studies history for a living I often see people spreading misinformation due to a popular song that gets a bunch of stuff wrong and the war not being taught very well in both Canadian and American lower education.
