No, it is: Don`t punish a whole nation of people over a war that they lost. Had the repressions not happened, the second war would have likely not happened. For that reason after WW 2 they instead rebuilt Germany and we ended up with the beautiful nation that it is today.
Well, Germany didnt exactly do itself any favors by egging on the Austrians to trigger a war that would drag in all the alliances. The General Staff was in an existential crisis over France rearming and Russia industrializing and reaching parity with Germany soon. They wanted a war as they were peaking and in the best position to decisively settle their issue with being encircled by the Entente
@@NYG5 It’s a lot more complex than that and it really wasn’t germanys fault, in the end they got called in as an ally as well, just like France called in their allies after provoking a war between Serbia and Austria and then even telling Russia to decline the white peace offer from Germany. Europe was a huge powder keg back then everyone was in an arms race to become superior over the other countries a tiny spark was enough and wouldn’t it have been the incident between Serbia and Hungary it would’ve most likely been something else.

Well, Swastika in German means literally hook cross, Hakenkreuz, and it is in many Catholic churches, abbeys, etc across all of Europe, like at Lambach Abbey, where Hitler saw his first swastika. Also, a very famous church with swastikas all over the floor is York Minster in England. A swastika can represent a perfect circle, the sun, one of God's greatest creations, a giver of life, etc. There is nothing wrong with it, no matter what someone or some people may or may not have done who used the symbol themselves.
Fun fact: Kooky as he could be sometimes, Wilson said (In Oversimplified style language): Hey dudes, can you NOT put too much pressure on Germany, it just might make them vengeful and even more angry in the future. In my research of the different "swastikas", I read that a man designed the logo for Hitler but was never actually paid for his work. Don't remember if he was killed later or not, but I think he may have been. I put swastika in quotes earlier because I have done a lot of research about the many different versions used by a number of different races and religions. In doing that research I read, from someone who is a lot smarter than I am and an avid activist for the swastika because of his religions version of it, that Hitler never actually called his symbol a swastika. He called it a hooked cross, Hakenkreuz. It is believed by some that the people who translated the literature later changed it to swastika to prevent anybody relating "hooked cross" to the church. There are a dozen versions of the swastika that I know of. 11 of them are positive. But all of them have a crazy stigma about them because of one man using it as a symbol for terrible crazy shit.

The allies did not fuck Germany in WW1, the kaiser did! It was Kaiser Wilhelm II who wanted to invade Russia, however France and Russia were allies in that time period so it would mean also a war with France. The kaiser literally chose to fight two fronts at the same time and chose to attack France first (before Russia). Later on in 1941 hitler made the same stupid mistake of voiding the agreement with the Soviet Union and fighting on multiple fronts. If Hitler did not invade the Soviet Union and kept it's pact with Stalin things might look very different today.

EDIT: By the way Toland has been attacked in recent years by some moronic critics who claim he was trying to improve Hitler's image. He was NOT. The purpose of the book was to show that Hitler was a human, not some mystical super beast. Toland was simply doing something unknown to writers today: Relaying information without a political slant. People are so unused to that today that they can't recognize true objectivity. A fairly old book in English (from the 70's) called simply "Adolf Hitler" by John Toland gives deep and valuable insights into Hitler's life, rise, fall, etc. Toland was the first English speaking author to interview Hitler's confidants in-depth and has never truly been successfully duplicated by any other author; and it is written with no real slant, just information. Many books have come since, but in the English-speaking world, Toland's was the first, and is still the English history of Hitler by which all others are measured today. Check it out sometime (might be difficult to get in Germany, but it is academic, so it might be accessible).
The irony of this streamer having to walk on egg shells and blur things in this banned ( in Germany ) video, while people in his stream ( ironically or not ) casually being able to say "STALIN BEST". Do not forget that the Soviets, Stalin especially, killed and genocided more people than Hitler ever did, yet it is completely fine to say good things about Stalin. Blows my mind everytime.
"Evil's just a measure of how much your choices take away other people's" - Aphra- And He took far too many choices from far too many people... Edit: Yes, the swastika was originally from Buddhist origin, he (very literally) twisted and perverted it.
I read a lot of WW2 non fiction books in high school. One talked about the elimination of the disabled. It said that a family had a child with mental disabilities and asked the german government if they could have the child euthanized . Hitler liked the idea so it became policy. As far as I know Germany started the Great War with no demands for land or money but during the war there also developed dreams about getting more colonies and other stuff from a defeated Entente.
Well the terms of the treaty of Versailles make sence if germany lost the war, they did not, in 1918 they couldn't keep up much longer but its barely if the frontline reach into germany
@@gerhardswihla1099 The Treaty wasn't fair because if u look at modern days microstate countries exist. @@gerhardswihla1099 Germany did not start the Great War, in fact before they joined it they actually tried to stop it by asking Russia to sign a white peace with Austria-Hungary. The one that started the Great War would be France. They told Russia to mobilise their troops along Germany's and Austria-Hungary's border, they also told Serbia to reject Austria-Hungary's ultimatum.
(The ultimatum was pretty much asking for full compliance of the investigation of the Archduke's assassination. Also any Serbian officers found directly involved in the assassination would be tried in court.)
@@slyking214
Sorry I thought it is obvious that Germany didn't really start the war eaven if Germany declared war first on Russia and than against France.
Germany made it offical since Russia did a full mobilisation and back than it was common sense that the country who did the mobilisation quicker has a important advantage in the first months of a war. So when a neighboring big nation did a full mobilisation it was seen as a defacto declaration of war if diplomacy did fail.
Also I believe that Germany did know that Russia had confirmation from France to back them.

Good one
I’ve always said that Germany was a scapegoat in WW1, and they really shouldn’t have been one. The allied powers made Germany a hell hole.
@@NYG5 sure, but if you want to punish a baby do you cut his head off?
@@NYG5
It’s a lot more complex than that and it really wasn’t germanys fault, in the end they got called in as an ally as well, just like France called in their allies after provoking a war between Serbia and Austria and then even telling Russia to decline the white peace offer from Germany. Europe was a huge powder keg back then everyone was in an arms race to become superior over the other countries a tiny spark was enough and wouldn’t it have been the incident between Serbia and Hungary it would’ve most likely been something else.
@@DetectiveWarden yeah but Germany actively encouraged Austria to be as harsh and aggressive to Serbia to start the chain reaction into the big war that Germany wanted to fight in 1914 instead of when Russia industrialized. Read Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, the first hundred or two pages are on the leadup to WW1 and all the decision making and politicking that went into it.
Should they have been as harsh on Germany? Hindsight says no but if you were the winning side who lost a ton in the war the aggressors started, you would probably go full Roman and salt the earth too.
Then on the flip side, the two "Germans" who negotiated and signed Versailles probably shouldn't have agreed to such terms either.
The thing I realised is, even if Hitler never would have became the person he became, someone else would have taken his place..
I mean if he hadn't become the person he ultimately was people would just talk more about Stalin and Mao when it comes to the 20th century.
I completely agree man, with the economic and political state Germany was in, I belive someone was going to become a dictator sooner or later. The communist party also was gaining large amounts of suppoort in the late 1920s and we all know how a communist government turns out. With how the allies brutally punished Germany after WW1 the way I see it is they basicly ensured someone would become a dictator, but obviously the allies could not have foreseen the 1929 crash which only emboldened Hitlers cliams that only he could save Germany. Never the less I belive with how unstable Germany was at the time if not Hitler someone else most likely would have taken over.

I love how the former axis are banning Hitler videos
In my school in GB 1968-9 history class, Mein Kampf was required reading.
When you mentioned the butterfly effect, I immediately thought about 'Agent Hitler, F.B.I.'
When youre forced to remind youtube every five minutes that Hitler was a bad person, its kind of hard to enjoy a video
Well he's a german after all, its their form of self hatred
@@NYG5 saying that batsht crazy psycho was bathst crazy isnt a 'form of self hatred' even if he lived in the same country as you do.
What the fk even?
@@vermilion6966 why do they need to state the obvious every 5 seconds? Because they've been ingrained with self hatred so they have to profess their guilt and piety at every turn for something that happened 50 years before they were even born.
I love how the video is titled hilter and not hitler. It just sounds like an off brand version
I've noticed a trend with twitch chat where it quickly boils down to irl politics and some level of shouting at one another.
There's a movie called the rise of evil, which Is about how Hitler grew up, i recommend it
ye tommy talked about it
@@TommyKay well i wrote it And about 10 seconds after He said that, So it's pretty funny timing xD
The evil part isn't fitting
"Rise of Evil"
Ah yes, the rise of Weimar Germany.
I love how he just wrote down "oversimp"
Hey so you missed a scene at 12:34 where the Swastika’s on the SA are visible
And what?
@Bryce McDowell And yet socalled history channels, even ones based in the BRD, can show swastikas and make money off of it. German 'documentaries' constantly show swastikas, but somehow it is only bad to show them in video games, and the Soviet flag is of course perfectly ok, because only tens of millions more died under Stalin and other Soviet rulers.
oh, i guess the system didnt detect it lul
@@josephrichter2104 Well, the German TV is not being monitored by TH-cam (yet). Also people in the USSR died to famines caused by mismanagement and were killed in power struggles of paranoid beaurocrats. In Germany putting people in camps and committing genocide was part of the ideology represented by symbols like the swastika. The red on the Soviet flag stands for freedom and the hammer and sickle symbolize the alliance of workers and farmers - nothing wrong about that
Yes, Hitler's inspiration for the Nazi symbol came from a Hindu symbol, meaning prosperity and good luck; in Hinduism, the right-facing symbol (卐) is called swastika, symbolizing surya ("sun"), prosperity, and good luck.
Ancient Nordic symbol too, the sun cross was everywhere here.. Can be related tho

Nope, the actual symbol was haekenkruz. A symbol used by the churches in that time.

@@ep1x3 yeah people really need to call out him more.
Honestly I think deciding THE worst human is impossible, its like determining the worst serial killer. How do you do it? By the sheer kill count, the motives, how it was done? Its just an endlessly subjective loophole, all we can really say is that they we're all fucked up.
Mao was certainly an awful lot worse
Uhh this video isn't blocked in germany I'm a german living in germany and can watch the video!
Victors write history.

This is literally chapter one of Hitlers book "Mein Kampf" which is also banned almost everywhere. That will explain the justification for banning it in Germany

You mentioned how if any of these things that happened to him were different he could have been a completely different person and not done what he did. Just think tho of how many evil people we could of had but thankfully something happened so they never did any of this.
There's a movie called "Judgement at Nuremberg" about a fictional part of the historical nuremberger trials regarding some judges in nazi germany (who are also fictional characters). in the climax one of the judges (Ernst Janning) gives a speech talking about why the Germans supported Hitler but also about how horrible it was of them to disregard the suffering of minorities for the sake of their own country.
