A tip if it echos!! it’s because the different generations aren’t the same quality. Turn the older air pod all the way up and the newer down until it matches! Sometimes older AirPods don’t work as good as newer ones so the new one is louder even if they are on the same level.

They stay in my ears when running and become unnoticeable. They are tight but comfortable. The sound quality is about the same as the 1st gen buds. They pair more easily with my LG G8 ThinQ and immediately reconnect when removed from the case. The sound balance is excellent, good but not overpowering base and clean mid tones and highs.Cons: The noise cancellation is good but perhaps a little less effective than the Bose ANC on the 1st gen buds. Passthrough mode as not as good as the 1st gen buds making it a little more difficult to hear conversations when in passthrough.

Searched on what to do and came across your video and BAM - it worked. I actually think the stereo sounds amazing and better than before. Thank you. It didn't work. I am not able to keep both check marks on each air pod selection if I pick the 1st it will play and when I pick the 2nd gen then it stops playing on the 1st gen and will play on the 2nd gen. Both check marks are unable to stay on each GEN air pod at the same time. :(

It's just mono, but I can live with that for my occasional walks etc. Microphone and Siri work fine.

Hello, I came here with the problem of having 2 SAME generation airpods that I wanted to link together. It’s a long complicated story, but basically all you need to know is that I have 2 different sides from different pairs, both generation 1. I had a RIGHT side from pair A, and a left side from pair B, and I thought I’d save some money if I just figured out how to make these two work. I can confirm that his method works, but it doesn’t take a music major to hear even the slightest difference in sound. In laymen’s terms, The experience is just not the same. the sound is slightly off by the millisecond in each side so you will hear echoing. Also, spacial sound no longer applies so you won’t hear thing’s like what’s behind you or on a specific side like you’re supposed to with AirPods. Nonetheless, if u don’t care about that and u just want to hear sounds from both, then this is a good temporary fix.
You can pair both together from Bluetooth settings, what's more is you can actually adjust the volume on whichever airpod you want till they sound the same loud

*fixed mine by* 1. cleaning the case and the metal 2. throwing my pods many times but not too hard. also the case i dropped it many times. 3. i placed my pods back by pressing it down in the case for minutes. (hard pressed) 4. i charged it with original charger for 2 hours. and then it worked! hope that helps
I bought brand new fake airpods and each airpod came up as a different name in my bluetooth settings. The right airpod had adopted the name for something else i'd already had loaded on. Long story short they wouldnt play together at the same time. Was just about to give up when i saw him pair the airpods to his music seperatly (end of video) now i can listen to them both at the same time and ive never been happier!!!!

Everything worked perfectly fine except for when I came to the option of playing both at the same time I hit the air play logo and it only switches between one or two it doesn't do both at the same
Me too. This worked for months until recently. Now, the option to play both of them has disappeared. I can only choose one of them. Software update maybe? Also, as an fyi: the option to play more than one device exists with other devices- just not these two separate AirPods. So weird.
what if the blue x is not available in setting? i am using an xr...?? they both are synced and both working separate but there is not blue button . so i can only pick left or right. any help for that

This worked! I have so many different cases and pods from losing one, and my puppy chewing one up. I mixed a set and was able to pair it. You rock!

Works but there is no stereo, they both play mono and one is slightly delayed. It sounds awful for music but watching videos is fine
