CHASING THE SUN 2 | EP 5 REVIEW | "We Know What They Don't Know"

- My thoughts after watching the final episode of Chasing the Sun 2, and on the whole series - and in fact, reflecting on South Africa's victorious RWC campaign in France.
- กีฬา
The English media targeted Bongi (mentally), the All Blacks targeted Bongi (physically) and Bongi and the Boks targeted the rugby World Cup 🔥🇿🇦🏆🏆🏆🏆.
Top tier comment right here, give this man more likes 👍🏻
That takedown of Bongi by Frizzell the w0man-b3ater was 100% deliberate and planned.
I'm pretty sure everything flew right over bongis head. We sorely missed Marx.
Damn! 🎊🎉
That “ tackle “ on Bongi. Accident ? Hmmmmm I’ll just say ……Hulle Weet Nie wat Ons Weet Nie 🤣🤣.
We in South Africa would like to request England to send Felix Jones back😢
We can make a trade we will give them Jake white
YES he was amazing
Rassies mentorship is churning out some serious rugby IQ for the future. Nienaber and Jones are products of that and will go on to have hugely impressive careers for sure.
Rassie’s just sent him to get experience abroad, he’ll be a Bok coach for sure in the future. For sure.
His confidence and knowledge grew immensely since 2019. Good man 💚💛🇿🇦
'Don't let anybody else try and write your storie'. What a speech from Nienaber.
Ya
That was pure gold. So sad to see Neinaber go, but he is writing his own story now.
@@Amandla-Awethu I think he’ll be back for the 3peat. Need to blood Stick. Then same crew for for 2027
Honestly, it had me ready to go to war!
History is written by the victors
If the English press can be half as good as you in covering the sport, rugby will be in a better place. Your content is truly fabulous
100%
eggchasers is top! I only struggle to get on board with his love of Owen Farrel (but I am a Saffer...)
The english press isn't good at anything other than spreading lies and misinformation.
Positivity, wot?
I agree, Tim is brilliant and has such a positive influence on rugby and how we should view it in that way. He has also influenced me to look at Owen Farrell as a great competitor that we should respect despite our biases.
Hiya Tim.
I had the massive benefit of working on Chasing The Sun and I can only tell you how grateful and blessed I am to have been a (small) part of it.
You were my wife and I's go-to voice during the World Cup and we love your content to bits. Thanks for everything.
We're looking forward to your travels in our country soon!
Side note: I will attempt to put a voice in the ear of one of the producers with regards to Deon. I can't promise anything, obviously, but I will try! Gotta roll the dice, hey?
Anyways, hope you have a lovely day - all you've said about the documentary has brought joy into our hearts.
Thanks, Egg!
Travails? 😀 Did you mean travels? I hope he has no travails. Anyway, congratulations on what seems to have been an incredible documentary (to judge by Eggchasers). Would love to be able to buy it for my father's 88th birthday in a few days. He lives in SA, but I live in Scotland.
@@computerager
100% a misuse of the word. So, yes, travels. Let us both hope that Tim may travel with ease about the country. 🤣
You were mine and my wife's go to voice* 😅
Well done on Chasing the Sun!
Thanks for the part you played in giving us a great and awesome memory of an awesome bunch of GLADIATORS from coaches to admin to players. Loved it.
We have a TV Anchor Commentator, Matshidiso Mohono, who lost her father just before the World Cup, and she still soldiered on up till the final. A woman in a man's world in South Africa, and an absolute icon of SA Rugby 🏉! Might wanna do a video of her.
She's as much a World Cup winner as the players!
She's so respected by everyone, and another true RSA story of strength, honor and resilience!
Ooh I love her!
@@gideonvanniekerk4252same....I wanna be her in my next life!
South Africa is an amazing country, it's people and places are going to blow your mind. Thanks for your enthusiastic breakdowns and insights Tim.
"This is our F.... Movie!" Jacques Nienaber day before the final... what a speech🔥🇿🇦
Listen, Kwagga Smith and Deon Fourie are truly unsung heroes.. The impact these guys made when we were in dire situations🎉🎉
Only to those who keep blowing fairy dust up the entire boks A holes. There were many players who really stood out doing exceptional spurts of play that saved our arses. Kolbe blocking the conversion, pollard steering and kicking crucial need to be over. Unlike libbok. Faf, tackling like a demon.we got lucky and scraped home
Deon put in one of the most heroic shifts ever.
I think especially kwagga from 2019 up until about end of 2021. People have I think understood his value the last 2 years or so and now People understand he is basically un droppable
@@nathannweyer4741 agreed
The phrase “we know what they don’t know” originated from Dricus’ UFC title winning fight where he said “Hulle weet nie wat ons weet nie”, which is the Afrikaans translation. After the fight he reflected on why exactly he said those words as he didn’t rehearse it and it was spontaneous. They were words he has never said or specifically thought of prior. As South Africans a lot of us knew exactly what he meant without an explanation needed. You cannot explain the mindset to adversity and the challenges we face to anyone that isn’t South African. IMO the way South Africans find a way to make something work and get things done in spite of the challenges is a trait inherent to our nation.
This. Our people are something special. 🇿🇦
That is why you can't copy South Africa
I find it funny, that only the minority has this applying. With half the minority having left, the country is reeling
@@corinnegourley7125
True, it's a mess
Well said. I was sitting there watching this video thinking how Tim's explanation still missed it. It is not just for the nation. Sure, playing for the nation is part of it, but that is the same for all the other national rugby teams. This remark is collective yet personal to the core. Every snarky comment. Every embarrassing defeat. Every derision received. Every hardship suffered. You will know it once you've endured it. You carry it with you. It is ingrained into your character as a South African.
They don't know what we know because they haven't lived what we lived.
Never thought I’d have Rassie, DvM, Kwagga and everyone else reduce me, a stern soul who thinks he has his kak together, to a mess of tears. Just, brilliant. One of the best things to come out of South Africa and it gives me hope that this will allow my country to get back to its feet. However unlikely that may be. 😢
Proudly South African! 🇿🇦 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
Just so proud a a South African!!
"However unlikely that may be. " - Stop talking kak about our Country
@@Arramasta 😂
It’s unlikely for sure!
Understand what you mean with your statement but the sad reality of that is...the country has never been on its feet as long as it is not for the majority of our people.
I did not grow up poor enough to know the extend of the minority of our communities until I started working in these poor communities. Our parents really shielded us from this. Can't believe it was never better. In apartheid it was even worst😱 pit toilets, the taps on the corner of the road....but ja our future must definitely be better for the majority of our people.
The story of Deon Fourie is aging like fine wine… the more you hear it, the more you want to hear it, again and again
really feel for bongi though
....or like fine brandy.😆
Tim, you are possibly the most honest, down-to-earth creator of rugby content on this platform. You have style. No one else talks about "earning" our subscription, but you do. I've been following your commentary for some months now and I have finally subscribed. You earned it. And I don't mean that to be patronising or condescending at all. It just happened that way.
I am a South African and a die-hard Springbok supporter and I love the way you place balance before everything you say. I like the fact that you are real, the little quirks you have when you present. Your calm demeanour, no noise, no sensationalism, no hype - just plain commentary. You and your channel are a class act. Well done - you have earned my respect too.
And it's not because you have so many good things to say about the Boks and everything and everyone that stand behind them, although I won't deny that it makes us feel good. It's because you say what you think and feel, honestly and with no fanfare - just say it. That's class.
Keep it up. Enjoy your trip to South Africa later this year and I wish you and your channel the very best any creator could wish for. Salute!
I concur. Unbiased, honest and absolutely devoted to the game. Quite refreshing.
Brilliant summation of Tim. He is an awesome Soul.
"Hear hear" - from another fellow South African. I think it's your passion Tim, it's infectious! Seeing anyone who LOVE what they do is a beautiful (and I believe) deeply spiritual thing to witness. Shine on, good sir!
Felix Jones...... His overall analysis is next level. England has gained a phenomenal rugby brain . We will surely miss this guy.
Tim we are happy to make you and Big Jim honourary South Africans, good job with your take on Chasing the Sun 2....
As a Capetonian, I think you are absolutely brilliant! My husband, son and I are ardent rugby fans and obviously loved the World Cup and we live our Springbokkies. You are going to have an amazing time when you come to SA particularly Cape Town. Look forward to being wonderfully surprised and having the time of your life.. 💚💛💚💛
Hi Tim, I've waited 36 hrs for your analysis of the past episode, after I watched it on Sunday. Thank you, I hope we are still going to get a weekly dose of Eggchaser
Rassie is one of the most clever world class coaches in history. Extremely smart strategically snd as an AB fan i look forward to the clash between him and Razor when he coaches the AB's. Total cash of the coaching and world rugby titans.
Yes! I've been thinking about that since the announcement of Rassie taking over as head coach again. I can't wait for the AB games!
As a proud South African, your heartfelt analysis makes the rugby world a good place! Good work man
Forged in fire, crowned in gold. A true testimony to the triumph of human spirit
Have enjoyed every review of yours on chasing the Sun, thank you. I hope u have a fantastic time when you visit our incredible beautiful and warm, and hospitable country. 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
I'm a South African living in New Zealand and just finished watching Chasing the Sun 2. That final episode was epic and made me so proud to be South African. I showed the start of the first episode, when Rassie tuned the players were liars during half-time of the England game, to a couple Kiwi mates. They said South Africans are wired differently. That's because they don't know what we know! I love rugby and I'm so proud of this documentary and the Boks. I'm already fired up for the Irish test series. Not the 3am kick offs on a Sunday morning here in NZ though. You're going to have such a jol in SA Tim.
Hey Tim, do you think you and TwoCents Rugby could organize a rugby chat between the two of you? I think the two of you would be able to present quite a pleasant and insightful rugby chat. And obviously the two of you live on opposite sides of the planet and are involved in different rugby comps. Would be great to reconcile the two different rugby worlds
You know why you've become so famous, in such a quick time, is because you are a genuine guy.
Eggchasers coverage of the WC has been the goto for most South Africans and will remain so for the future. Well done. Brilliant work!
Excellent series Tim, will be sure to send a beer money donation.

You Sound Like a Well Traveled Man. I lived in SA in the early 80s. Just 3 Months. One Thing I Remember Is Standing in Yan Smuts Stadium 🏟️. A Young Amateur Rugby Player & Irish Gaelic Football Player also. In Hindsight. I Should Have Stayed Longer & Played Rugby There in Jahannesburg. 🧐🤔.
But Too Inocent & Green. It was During Apartheid then. Which Us Irish Understood.
Not Boasting. But I Could Place Kick a Rugby Ball from inside the other Half of the pitch. And Put It Between The Posts. Most of the time. I was 6’-2” & Fast also. I Often Wonder that if I Stayed. Would I Have Gotten A Chance To Be A Springbok. Beautiful People & Beautiful Country. Cheers 🍻
And 20. Robeen Island, to see Nelson Mandela's cell.
21. Visit Wembley house in Athlone and order yourself koeksister, samosas and a milkshake the best in da world. You will tell me again.
awesome show!!!, deon fourie was a absolute legend, so glad you giving him his Kuddos, as a Saffer it makes me so happy to see and hear other countries celebrating our team
Where do I pre-order my "Bongi says Relax" tshirt?!?
Chasing the Sun2 is absolutely brilliant. Truth revealed behind the scenes. So much emotion it’s unbelievable
Springboks raw on every level. Just love every single one involved
I have played Rugby for 28 years, I have traveled the world and SA to watch my teams. Cutting through white noise and BS from the press is an art you need to understand as a Springbok supporter, you on the other hand is one of the best rugby TH-cam channels out there. You are a breath of fresh air, keep up the amazing work, keep Rugby your focus no Team no Individual. You are going to have the trip of your life in SA, that's a given. "You don't know what we know, yet" ... I would love to buy you a beer in Johannesburg.
Deon is my legend of all legends. Mental toughness and the energy he brings to the team. Never give up attitude. He was monstrous in the final but let's not forget that crazy tackle against France. Wow what a legend
Tim, as a South African and massive Bokke and Bulls supporter... respect goes out to you for your honest and heartfelt commentary about this. Yes we face adversities (and a lot of them) in South Africa, but our love for our Country and our people runs very, very deep. Rugby, as a uniter in this Country, is unbelievable!
You are correct about the captaincy. There are many leaders in the group so who actually gets the official mantle is not that important. Siya will still be a big voice even if he isn’t captain.
You are the best rugby youtuber. I also enjoy Jim Hamilton from The rugbypod and I’ll occasionally watch Alfie as he is also quite good and WildKart if he is covering an interesting topic (love his passion)! TwoCents Rugby is also a good one to watch sometimes (truly unbiased and he makes good observations).
I thought I was the only one making those observations. My last also has Mark, a kiwi staying in Mexico. These guys are good and very impartial

Agreed brother every1 is losers,Boks best NATION to have PLAYED the game!💪🔥💯🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
Thanks for this review! Top stuff, as usual. Anyone notice how the documentary didn't show a single mistake from the AB's? Not a missed kick to poles to be seen anywhere. It's as if the message is: we won this. the ABs did not lose this
We did win it 😂
Perhaps we should say, as per usual, we just scraped through as per normal.
You are kidding?
@@user-qe1tv1bu2f Yet we scrape through more than most. Contemplate on that a bit. Your pessimism only highlights whatever resentment you harbor.
Go look at how formidable the other teams were. Scotland, Ireland, England, France, New Zealand. They threw everything at us, yet they didn't beat us with ease. They didn't even scrape through. Whether you lose by a millimeter or a mile, you've lost.
@@cobus5841 and yet Ur wrong. NZ beat Ireland who beat us by a margin. Oh, so now their formidable teams. Scotland, Ur joking. We scraped through period. Yes we won yaye, but loose by a point nobody would rave like lunatics as u lot are. Steyn saved us from lions defeat, last gasp kick. We are last gaspers and the mindset is not to dominate but play catch up a hope to win it barely. That's not pessimistic u dunce it's factual.
SA grandma here, raised listening to rugby on the radio and watching on the telly for when I could barely talk... You are so right, enormous respect for the All Blacks. Most of the SA fans I personally know will, if our Boks aren't playing, always cheer for the AB's to win, including me.
As a South African, the bongi incedent. I remember from my perspective. I didn't think it was a major thing. I thought it was people and the media trying to make it more then it was. And I'm actually sure the boks didn't let it get to them either.
Because of our countries history I know for a team like the springboks to be so close. There simply is no way that race is ever a factor.
They are truly an inspiration for the whole world
I've been looking at youtube every 15min from monday morning waiting for this. TH-cam started to ask me click here to prove you are not a robot.
That’s crazy 😂
You were not the only one haha
I've also been waiting not very patiently for Tim's review .. As per usual a brilliant review. You are going to love S.A big time Tim!!!! 😀🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
I Hope you enjoy South Africa The fabulous food!! the tastes, Warm Ocean, friendly people, the fresh air, the smells, the birds, the injection of power in your body and mind and of course the Rugby.... I miss it sooooo much
And the load shedding!😎
I mentioned on another video that South Africa's and then New Zealand's respective slumps in form have re ignited my passion for the Boks v ABs. I think both teams needed to be brought down to earth, each give each other record hammerings and in the end to meet in the final was just poetic.
The line "hulle weet nie wat ons weet nie" i.e. they dont know what we know was coined by Dricus Du Plessis when he was fighting his way up the middleweight class in UFC. Chasing the Sun pays homage to him during the credits where they show him walking through the airport with the title belt.
Wrong
@@Zion66666 I am 100% sure this is the case, but okay, who coined it and when? Happy to accept I'm wrong if I am, but you're going to have to prove it.
@@chieffa32 okay. Well I can’t prove it but I heard the phrase being used way before even the RWC. Don’t know who coined it but for whatever reason some people seem to give Dricus credit. I’m a fan of Dricus btw.
@@Zion66666 The reason you cant prove it is because Dricus coined it at UFC 290 after beating Whittaker. You may have heard it before, but Dricus coined it. Just a simple google search would've confirmed this for you with various news pages and even Kurt Darren (for what that's worth) confirming it. Pro tip - if you cant prove something to the contrary, then dont publicly state someone is wrong.
My 12 year old son favourite part of the Episode is Jacques Nienaaber speech. Some of these kids were not meant to be there, because of their circumstances. It teaches and reminds us all again, that where you start is not where you finish. Life is not linear. All the detours on the way serve to make you stronger, add to your toolbox for the future. BE ALWAYS EXCELLENT IN WHAT YOU DO. BE READY AND PREPARED FOR WHAT YOU ARE STRIVING FOR. You never know how and where your opportunity will come or who is watching you.
Rassies closing comments about South Africa our Country and remember who we are and capable of as a country. I will not speak ill of it, but what can I do to make it what we all know is capable of. Forget the politicians, but what we as citizens can do at grass root levels.
Also, wow was I wrong about Jacques Nienaaber. The narrative in the Media and public at large, was the Coach was Rassie, but Jacques was playing his second fiddle. My word were we wrong. The man was the Man. Love how Rassie had so much trust in his Coaching Staff. Wow. The media focused on Rassie, but the coaches were focused on the job. My sadness is that this Doccie is not available to the rest of the country. It's needed.
We must all just roll up our sleeves an jump in to get the job done. Politicians won't do it for us. They only want to gorge on money and power at the expense of our nation. You are correct! The WHOLE country needs to see this.
Hey Tim - when you come to Cape Town , hit me up and you can come round for a braai or even stay at my house - got a spare room. We’ll show you the real South Africa ! (Hotels are for tourists … 😂).
My name is Howard and I’m that dude who made the “rugby for toddler” videos which went around doing the World Cup - not sure if you saw them. Anyway seriously would be lovely to welcome you into Cape Town - I’ve loved your content over the last six months and would love to collaborate / give something back! A big piece of braai meat would be the least I could do!
Speaking from the heart. I love it.💚💛🇿🇦
Hi Tim. I really enjoy your style of commentry about rugby. Even after England lost to South Africa, you were honest in your grief as well as your praise. Looking forward to reports your from our home soil.
Every single one of our players is South Africa personified. They have different playing abilities and different styles of playing but deep down it is all for the same purpose. That purpose is purpose itself and it cannot be measured by talent alone but also by willpower and the strength in our hearts, minds and souls. So I wish to say thank you Tim for all of this insight and cherish the fact that you still have an extraordinarily bright future ahead with so many accomplishments still yet to come! From a proud South African🇿🇦
What a great synopsis ,look forward to your posts, when you come to SA you will see the true rugby fans, hospitable, humble and thirsty
Tim thanks for 5 x ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ reviews it’s been a pleasure watching
Why does Tim not have a REALLY big rugby correspondent's job in an established English paper or other media outlet? Surely the best journo, with the same eloquence, versus all those other misguided, miserable old farts? I mean the man made me feel his pain after that semi-final but somehow he still positioned the SA win as immense and deserving. Keep going mate-I-never-met: you have earned a subscription!
Thank you Sir for your appreciation of our Springboks boys. I am from South African, but I work in Sweden and I went to the final in Paris, as I would not have missed it for anything. In South Africa we call the Springboks, the Bokke. It is one of the few ways we can show the world, that we are the best in something and give our people hope and joy back home. Rugby is part of our DNA and we call it our game.
The only channel I happily watch the ads to support you. Fantastic heartfelt, honest commentary.
Thanks Tim for your insight and commentary. From sitting on the beach and out amongst the fans doing your talk and interviews, your channel was more than subscribable! I could not wait to hear your commentary of episode 5. Perfect and unbiased as usual.
Can’t wait for the final episode of ‘Chasing The Brannas’ Tim. I hope you get that interview.

Tim, I can’t thank you enough for the content you produce on this Channel. Honestly. The work you do for all Rugby is amazing. I remember just flicking through TH-cam prior to the Rugby WC last year, seeing the first glimpse of the knowledge & love for the game you have.. And couldn’t get enough. The previews, squad announcements, the power rankings. The excellent work you did bringing the World Cup alive from France. I’m a South African born boy, who watched South Africa win the 1995 World Cup. And to see how much Rugby means to all South Africa. After winning back to back World Cups with this incredible Team. I hope you get the opportunity to bring Deon on, and all the other stars while on your visit. You deserve it, just for the great work you do. Thank you Tim.
I've watched a bunch of reviews and yours was by far the best, you got the emotion points spot on. Thanks for this!
Fantastic show Tim! Love how you are so unbiased! Will definitely be following more of your shows especially when you visit SA later this year.
Your truth and understanding is amazing. Love watching your program.

Tim, you have been great, I have followed you throughout the world cup and am still following you. Can't wait for your trips to SA later this year. The rivalry and respect between the Boks and All Blacks is amazing. I am ex SA living in Australia but still have the green and gold blood flowing in my veins. Well done.
Love Eggchasers. My go to channel for real honest answers to rugby questions.
As excited I was, I was sad to see the closing final episode of Chasing the sun 2 last night but let me tell you something. The anticipation and the excitement of waiting for the episode during this last week, was on a par with my feelings during the world cup last year. I was on the "regte kant" of happy exited emotions.
The reminder of the journey was and is so welcome. I had forgotten about the Bongi Curry slur. In so doing reminded that this world isn't perfect and its these kind of imperfections that make it all so entertaining for me. I'm also reminded how easy it is for the innocent to be "court" up in the systems we have and burnt at the stake for crimes they are simply not guilty of. We all should take a moment to really look deep into our behavior patterns and why we choose what we choose. Anger and aggression over love and kindness for example. Or not. Spending time on this is really a choice but I digress, so sorry for that jabber.
There are a couple of strong life lesson I take from watching this brilliantly put together roller coaster of emotions project, Chasing the Sun 2.
1: if you work hard and focus, and really put in extra effort, and if you are humble you can and will achieve greatness.
2: If you assemble the right people in the right places achieving the impossible is within your grasp.
3: Having the right management team is just as important as the team. So choose well.
4: Love and kindness go along way in achieving common goals
5: Working together is the answer.
That shot of Rassie emotional at the airport during the teams arrival back into SA. The reception he and the team received which sparked this emotion. I only wish in my life that I can experience even just a piece of the level of pride I witnessed in the sum of all the parts leading up to this exquisite highly unique Rassie moment. How truly remarkable. I thank the producers of this project for taking me on this journey. I thank the players for writing their own script and striving for and achieving greatness.
The story that is the journey to holding the Web Ellis trophy aloft as champions is so much bigger than a rugby teams back to back world champion repeat and becoming champions for a record 4th time. It's the journey each and every South African is on. The road we have traveled and the road we are traveling. What we see and what we feel in this country. The hardships my captain speaks of and the day to days struggles of a nation under a government holding it's citizens to ransom for greed and personal gain. It's how each of us connect to the knowledge that we truly have the most glorious country in the world and that with the right management (see what I did there?) we can all benefit from our land and it's abundance. The conundrum that is a mismanaged country can be rectified. Just like PSDT said, "everyone is fucking scared. If you afraid say so. We make a fucking plan." The motivation of the man. The truth. We have to help each other and work together to beat the cancer in our country and that means educating the voter. Each and everyone of you South Africans should be doing something to help educate the voter leading up to the immanent election. Flooding social media with reasons to not vote ANC and EFF without being condescending for example. Just relay your truth.
I don't have the answer as to what the future holds but I can see what has happened, what is happening and that if nothing changes, it'll only get worse. So if you want a better home for you and your family, start working hard, together toward it. Yes I'm scared but shit, I want change. Look out for my video post. It's coming very soon. Can't wait to see yours.
The emotion Rassi felt at the airport that I speak above and of wanting a little bit of it; imagine we work together and change our leadership and this country becomes the kind of country we all know it can be. A true example to the world of a fantastic place to live where the people work together like the Springbok Rugby team showed us. One for all it's citizens. I want that and I know, I really really know so do you.
Like any great TV series. Leading the audience toward the idea of a sequel is the formula used by Hollywood and as such the rest of the world. There is no exception to Chasing the sun 2. Chasing the sun 3. I can't wait to see how that project unfolds.
Patience Antony. Patience.
Been all along checking if you've loaded for episode 5. You've been awesome covering our story
Thank you for your reviews and for inspiring us. Rassie’s heart and face when he says, “…this time they just said, ‘thank you, thank you.’” Words can never articulate the life-giving impact this Springbok team had on our nation. Thank you!
I appreciate you sharing your views on CTS2, especailly as a non-Saffa. We love our Boks and can appreciate when others can too. This documentary went next level and I wouldn't mind such an in depth look into the current Leinster team - where they are and how they go about their business.
Great work, Tim!!! The respect between the Bok and AB teams and supporters is real. Sonny-Bill's comments in the episode prove it!
Thank you Tim / Eggchasers - I've been following you since your "Breakdown" post pre-RWC 2023 and it's been an amazing ride - love your passion for this beautiful game. Really looking forward to your experience of our amazing SA - a troubled, but amazing country nevertheless!
Tim you make me cry. I love the rivalries you describe. The Boks are so much more than a team to me, they represent so much of what is good and right in our beautiful country.
I do appreciate the measured and level headed commentary you provide. As SA supporters we are so used to being given stick for being dumb, backwards etc and given that you support a different country its even more special. Thank you, much appreciated.
For me I wish they would have touched more on PSDT being the only forward asked to go full 80 in a 7-1 split especially when Willie mentioned what toll it takes on the backs but absolutely brilliant have sobbed so much watching this
Us South Africans still believe that we achieved the greatest victories without our best player in 2 decades, Marx.
THAT makes our victory so much sweeter. Malcolm is worth 8 points a game.
We achieved this without our second biggest strength, our lineouts.
And without scrums really
Tim you are one proper human being! I just love the way that all your comments are aways positive, never dwelling on the negative.
Regarding the access the film crew had, imagine the trust between then and the coaching staff. It manifest in the trust between the coaches and players coaches. Enjoy your tour to South Africa. You are going to have more fun than that you can imagine enjoying our hospitality👌
Branners is an absolute legend, what a story.. a journeyman pro and if I recall his dad was very ill and they had to tell
Him eventually but he said please to stay in France!! Wow what a warrior 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Such a good decision to watch the school boy rugby in South Africa. You are going to love it. The rivalry is crazy and will give you further insight into where the passion comes from.
Your reviews of this series are exceptional,Tim. From the heart and telling it as you feel. 🎉.
Thanks for your great content, Tim. I look forward to hearing your take on all things rugby every week. I've even got back into and excited about domestic rugby again and that has a lot to do with your channel.
Too right that this has set the benchmark for docs. The raw emotions show is truly amazing. As a Saffer this brought tears to my eyes. Watching this again it brought back the nervous and excitement of the whole tournament.
I need that ''Bongi says relax shirt''. Good job Sir.
Love your analysis and love for the game - you bring no biases or prejudices but pure rugby analysis - the way I love it.
got goose bumps listening to your description and can’t wait to see v2 of the Sun - not available in the US yet - but as a Saffa I can tell you that the “hulle weet nie wat ons weet nie” captures both the “people” and spiritual aspects of the Springboks - many of the team are men of deep faith and along with them I always sensed this ultimate inspiration would come through - even as Andre Pollard lined up the winning penalty against England - enjoy your time in SA it will change you forever 👍
The biggest games for the Boks this year for me is Ireland..... if Ireland manage to beat us then we won't hear the end of how they should have won the WC..... going to be huge test matches ;)))
Exactly right there
Should have, could have..... 🙄 Nobody cares what they think. They could not even make it to the semi final.
Nice episode Tim!
Thank you for your enthusiasm and honesty.
You now realise what others are yet to realise ...
Great content on the documentary. Awesome feedback Tim. ❤ You doing great. Keep up the good work. See you in sunny South Africa 🇿🇦 😊
Once again an excellent review, thanks for your great work Tim
This is pure content and analysis, you make TH-cam worth. Keep up the good work.
I couldn't wait for your reaction response video 😊 thanks Tim you going to love it this side in South Africa....
Thank you for putting this together. So good reliving the emotion of that night. You will be most welcome in our country and hope you manage to get Deon on the channel!
Loved watching your reviews! Made me feel like the world cup for a 3rd time again after the real thing, Chasing the Sun 2 and then your review..., 👏👏👌
This was just a brilliant series from start to finish. Some awesome scenes in this last episode. The focus on Deon. Cheslin's face as he walked into the coaches room. The speech from Nienaber. The tension during the final. The bravery from the players. The speechlessness afterwards. Tears were flowing freely in the end.
Great coverage, Tim! Maybe you can hook up with Juan de Jongh and Rudy Paige on their podcast Behind the Ruck while you're in Cape Town? I'm sure they'll love to have you!
Hi Tim. Great content. I am a Springbok supporter and Saffa living in Perth Australia. The Sunday before WC final a good friend of my Cape Town days organised 2 WC final tickets for me and my 14 yr old son via Deon Fourie’s wife. So we flew to Paris for the final. Memories we will never forget. Enjoy Cape Town.
