Good to see someone with a passion, who truly understands the needs of her feathered friends and provides thorough enrichment for them. Well done. They are very lucky!
Great Canary video! I got my first Canary a couple years ago and I tried letting him out and it worked out great. He flies around (99% in the same room as his cage) but, as you mention, he's learned to go back to his cage (in fact, I've even taught him to go back via my hand signals). Canaries are great little birds and they do make nicer pets than most people realize. Mine is not finger tame but he's not very afraid of me. I think letting him out to fly really improves his quality of life.
That's super cool! I've been looking into getting my very first bird recently but It's been a little bit intimidating. Do you have any advice for beginners? :)
@@cypressgazaway4191 canaries dont really need that much as you could think. Cage in the video is like a 5star hotel, you dont have to buy a whole pet shop for your canaries if you want him to be happy. You can feed him seeds, other than that some veggies or fruits (they love apples and carrots), also some greens. You should let him out of the cage as soon as he is feeling comfortable around you and in his new home. If youre afraid that he wont go back, just give him less food so hell be more likely to go back by himself. Feed him regulary, and try to sing something everytime you do so(always the same song). Remember that only males sing, but if you want to keep two of them-buy two females.

I've read that the position of the eye makes a difference, and I've also read where they say it depends on which leg the band is on. Any suggestions??
Hi, usually the male will sing up a storm. Females can sing but not as good or loud as a male. I have never heard about the eye position. Some breeders may place bands on the right leg for males and the left for females but not all breeders. The best way to tell is by the singing and behavior.

I might be getting one canary but when I am at school it will have to be in his/her cage once it is tame when I’m home he will be out off the cage. How big off a cage would I need
+Glitter islife Hi, congratulations! Canaries should have a long cage. Avoid tall cages as they are usually too small and canaries need to fly the length of the cage so wider is best. 24" wide at minimum. I will post a few links on ideas of cages in a few minutes.
+Glitter islife This cage is big enough. I have three of these cages. You have to change the perches. The perches should go from back of cage to front of cage, that way the canary can fly back and fourth. Put the perches far apart but not to close to the end of the cage so his tail does not rub on it.
The Borking Pup Avian vets cost more than dog and cat vets. It can be expensive. There is an exam fee and then extra costs for medication, tests such has xrays, blood work, fecal test etc.
I see! I was wondering because my cockatiel's vet trip cost about $210 while my budgies were only $60 (The entire vet exam and such) I thought maybe the size difference would affect the cost? Thank you for answering!
That's a hard one to answer. I have not had to get everything at once. Depends on type of bird and the cage as I have so many of them. If you are considering getting a bird and need all the supplies than it is a major buy. Vets are $100 and up, Cages are $60.00 and up, birds can be from $30.00 to over $1,000.00 and then the toys, food, perches and accessories can add up. I can't really honestly answer that question. Estimate would for a budgie would be minimum $300.00.
Usually birds will poop while on a perch or wherever they land, make sure to have newspaper or plastic or or a bird stand etc under where they land. It's easy to clean up after if all the poop is in one spot. You can spot clean as well.
That I can't answer for you. Price would depend on what time of pet and where you live in the world. The biggest cost is the initial set up for your pet and then there is ongoing food, toys, vet bills etc. Just make sure you get a good paying job to support yourself and extra for your pets. It can get expensive especially vet bills
I’m scared my bird will start flying out and all over the house and she will go so I keep he tin her cage I try it a lot but she keeps jumping to the perch and back to cage floor help plzzzzz
Jinat Alfadhli Try a bigger cage if he is never out. A flight cage with a width of 32" . This cage is too small for a bird to enjoy life. Or let him out, he will get used to it and go back himself.
Jinat Alfadhli Birds should be eye level or higher. They really like and need to fly to be happy. Get a longer cage and let him out and you will see the difference

How much does it cost in general
Are vet trips expensive for canaries?
The Borking Pup Avian vets cost more than dog and cat vets.
It can be expensive. There is an exam fee and then extra costs for medication, tests such has xrays, blood work, fecal test etc.
I see! I was wondering because my cockatiel's vet trip cost about $210 while my budgies were only $60 (The entire vet exam and such) I thought maybe the size difference would affect the cost? Thank you for answering!
The Borking Pup Some vets charge by the size of the bird. Canaries are small and Cockatiels are medium.
Depends on the medication and tests .
Sorry for bombarding you with questions, this is the last one! How much did it cost for you (Vet, food, cage, the bird itself, etc)?
That's a hard one to answer. I have not had to get everything at once. Depends on type of bird and the cage as I have so many of them. If you are considering getting a bird and need all the supplies than it is a major buy. Vets are $100 and up, Cages are $60.00 and up, birds can be from $30.00 to over $1,000.00 and then the toys, food, perches and accessories can add up. I can't really honestly answer that question. Estimate would for a budgie would be minimum $300.00.
Do canary need place to sleep, bed
No they don't need a bed, they will sleep on the highest perch
In what are the measurements in inches or centimetres
Hi, the cage is in inches.
What size is this bird cage please
18" by 18"
Very helpful
Mam where did you buy your cage
I want to bird same cage like you please help me .
Thank you so much. Can you please make a video on how to train canaries not to poop everywhere thank you 😊
Naturally they're gonna poop around the house, if let out to fly? How do you handle this situation?
Usually birds will poop while on a perch or wherever they land, make sure to have newspaper or plastic or or a bird stand etc under where they land. It's easy to clean up after if all the poop is in one spot. You can spot clean as well.

Where can I buy this cage?
Hi, here is a link to the cage, it's black but it the same size amzn.to/2Coo4aK
I could not find a white one.
i am convincing my dad to let me get a bird so i’m watching videos because i want a canary and it workinggg
Nice
And how much does it cost to buy all that stuff for them??
That I can't answer for you. Price would depend on what time of pet and where you live in the world. The biggest cost is the initial set up for your pet and then there is ongoing food, toys, vet bills etc.
Just make sure you get a good paying job to support yourself and extra for your pets. It can get expensive especially vet bills

Ok thank you
i love your vido
I’m scared my bird will start flying out and all over the house and she will go so I keep he tin her cage I try it a lot but she keeps jumping to the perch and back to cage floor help plzzzzz
Jinat Alfadhli how big is the cage?
Love of Pets about as big as your just a little bit but smaller
Jinat Alfadhli Try a bigger cage if he is never out. A flight cage with a width of 32" . This cage is too small for a bird to enjoy life.
Or let him out, he will get used to it and go back himself.
Love of Pets Someone in my fam said to hang the cage up somewhere should o do that I think the bird is fine if it’s on a low area who is right?
Jinat Alfadhli Birds should be eye level or higher. They really like and need to fly to be happy. Get a longer cage and let him out and you will see the difference
Cool
