So now I bought her a pretty big cage(90×75×45cm) and we started to organize it!!! Your video really helped and because Ellie(are budgie) really likes company we will get two more birds: budgie and cockatiel! Thank you SO much and have a great day💕💕
About 1 month, I had gotten a pair of cockatiels because they were the only two left at the shop and me and my mom decided to get both. We also got the cage and the food from the store and the cage is not that big but it was enough for now as our budget was low. I have tried approaching the birds but because of various reasons, I didn't have the time to do so. Recently I started researching more to bond and care for them properly and I came across your channel. Luckily you even talk about the care of budgies which was very much needed as I already have 2 budgies at home but have been neglecting them since. Your channel has really informed me of all the necessary things to do for a bird and I am very grateful. Thank you for the amazing content!
Thanks so much! I was so young when I got my cockatiel, (about 9) and my mom just did what the pet store told her to do, thinking not that it was "good enough" but thinking that that must be what you're supposed to do. I still have this cockatiel seven years later, and I'm just now learning about the perches in my own research from you. I plan on saving up money on my summer job to get him this cage, or a flight cage similar to it at the very least. These tips were super helpful, thank you again! I'll be looking at more of your videos for sure.
I was researching about rats, and somehow, it led to researching about birds Update: he died 😣 i used a teflon pan around him not knowing it was teflon but I learned from my mistakes and now have a happy, healthy, rescue cockatiel
i’m just wondering, i haven’t even tamed my bird and i’ve had him for about 2 weeks but he’s already on my hand and shoulder, what does it mean or is that normal?
I know, her birds are so lucky. I’ve received a budgie from a pet store six days ago as a belated birthday gift. I was told that she (at least I think the budgie’s a “she”) was less than two months old with clipped wings, and I wanted to allow her to live a healthy and happy life to the fullest, but I don’t think there’s an avian vet where I live and my mom believe that birds don’t get vets and eat only seeds. My hope is that I gets a place of my own and have enough money to give Nozomi the best life she deserves.
We got a green cheeked conure from Petsmart not even two weeks ago. She died suddenly on Tuesday. I believe she was sick when we brought her home but our inexperience caused us to miss symptoms she was showing and the guilt that we could have saved her will haunt me forever. She was the most loving bird I ever met. She would lay back in my palm and I’d cup my hand over her and she’d fall asleep right there in my hand, nuzzling her little beak in and it was purely magical. I bonded with her and felt so much love for her and from her. I am beside myself, completely devastated and now I’m watching all these videos on TH-cam seeing all the things I did wrong. I don’t believe my actions killed her, I know she was sick now when I look back at pics of her from the day she came home from Petsmart but I was too stupid to realize it. She was only 7 months old and as precious as a living thing could possibly be. My heart is broken forever and I miss her so much. With all this research I am doing now as a grieving process I may in time want to try again with another bird, now that I have learned so much more. Can I ask a question? How do you feel about the wire grate at the bottom of the cage? I watched another video on TH-cam that suggested that grate be removed and filled with bedding because the wire hurts their feet and they could possibly injure their heads trying to pick things up off the cage floor. I removed mine after I saw that but now I’m wondering if I should do that with the new bird someday.
A tip for dowel perches, you can take a sharp knife or razor and take away bits or a lot of wood to add different sizing, texture and shapes to the dowel perches.
I know I’m posting this video 2 weeks later than it was posted, but, tysm for all your tutorials with your birds! It helps me with giving my bird a good life which she deserves. You’re amazing and tysm!

Awesome cage and video! My budgies love natural perches. Especially the grape wood from Parrot Town. I like that you use platform perches too. Rocky loves hers. Can't wait to see what new bird you are getting!!!❤💚🐥🐦😊 I love your helper!🥰🐤
Your videos are informative, straight and to the point. Great job with the editing to keep the pace up as well. Looking forward to more good stuff from you!
This is very helpful! Thank you! I’m getting a Indian Ringneck in 2 to 3 weeks because I recently lost my Green Cheek Conure. I always seem to have a difficult time figuring out them best cage placement. Thank you for the help!
I'm not sure if someone else has commented this already, but you can still use dowel perches! Take a knife and slice off parts of it to give it texture and variation. Go crazy with it. Don't hold back!
@@malikes4591 True, you do have to be really careful. Do this far away from the birds and make sure to cut off or sand out any potentially dangerous parts. Glad your bird is okay though!
@@colorfulchameleon9891 unfortunately I didn’t have sand paper lying around my house but I’ve replaced all my perches. These babies came from horrible homes and I’m in the process of fixing that!

One last thing 😅, you should post more again in the TH-cam community posts thing, I love those because we get to see high quality cute pictures, and it gives us a heads up about things like new videos etc

Thanks for you I'm getting a cockatiel and I am very lucky because I've been wanting a cockatiel for ever so I enjoy watching your videos and they help me a lot
On Christmas eve, I found a budgie outside freezing in the cold rain.. I didn't intend to keep her, I just wanted to save her, but I couldn't find the ower. At first, I had to scramble to figure out how to house and feed her because I was obviously unprepared! I've had her for 3 months now 😊 I only owned finches as a child and had no clue how to care for this little beauty, but of everything I've researched, your page has been the MOST informative! I have quite a few changes to make, thank you!
I got a birds and I feel so guilty cause I didn’t treat them well at all, so now I plan to do at least a year of research to make sure I don’t screw up again. These videos really helped so thank you!
Happy to see a real flight cage, something with horizontal flight space! I like that you also tried to do a healthy set-up of leaving the center more open for flying! Such an improvement compared to your other budgie cages that are only square and tall. When I see people making improvements, it makes me think that maybe there's more hope for little birds, and the hope can spread and encourage other owners of small birds to give their small friends better living situations. ❤ A tip. 🙂 The only thing I would like to see more of in bird cages, for small to medium sized birds, are skinny perches. I know skinny perches are really hard to find, but they help a bird's grip which is good for their feet muscles as well as balance. To improve a bird's grip and balance, means their muscles won't get tired when they sit on perches, and they will have more grip for playing and eating, and less chances of missed landings or falls. You have some skinny options, and your set-up is a nice one, but for others to know, for the muscles to build up it's good to have either more skinny perches or set-ups that have a bird be on the skinny options frequently (this goes for all small to medium birds, budgies, cockatiels, etc). Most of the time with natural perches, at a store we can look at what's available, and since no two are exactly alike, we can pick out the skinniest ones. We can also always go back to see what comes in stock, and slowly accumulate more skinny perches. Of course, we don't want to overcrowd a cage or lose out on variety, though. Have a happy day, and healthy cages, with healthy set-ups, everyone! 🙂
Wow a cage review of my own cages 😂 oooh I’ll try to look for some more skinny perches for all my birds. My other budgie cages are 24” x 22” wide and deep, and there are actual flight cages that are 24” wide. I think we can both agree that bigger cages are better!!
Hi, hope you don't take my comments as negative, I love everything you are doing for helping teach better care for birds. I just feel there's always room for us bird lovers to learn and improve together and from each other. :) More about cage width... Minimum space for birds to have flight space is 30" wide. Any cage can be sold titled as flight cages, some are true flight cages some aren't. If a space is observed, anything less than 30" wide doesn't give quite enough space. Considering the wider a cage is, the greater distance perches can be placed, and create a space to fly from one side to the other side, and encourage birds to do more than just hops and leaps or tight flutters. Since you are so wonderfully influential, I just wanted more awareness on proper horizontal widths, which your new cage is GREAT because of it being wider! It's nice to have a spread of always improving knowledge, so that when or if possible, everyone can hope to have great, healthy, cages for their feathered friends. So yes, we can definitely agree that bigger is always better! (for novices, sometimes bigger does need to be specified as a wider bigger though. I've seen a lot of people who go "bigger is better", but the type of bigger they choose is just tall with no horizontal flight space. Horizontal space is the real importance for birds.) :D It's understandable that we can't all have perfect cages though, but we can all still try to have good cage set-ups. Like your new cage, perches and toys mostly to the ends and sides, perches running back to front instead of the length of the cage, leaving the middle of the cage more open for flying from one side to the other side like an airplane, and not over-crowding a cage. Keep up the great videos, I hope your channel continues to get better and popular!
I don't think that this cage is available outside US. So sad. I live in Sweden and I'm looking for a cage that's good. This video has given mi anxiety. I have realized that my birds cage is not the best. Also that the swedish market is crap compaird to the US market. If someone know a site that ships cages within EU that are similar in quality and price I would be very thankful. I would buy this cage in a heartbeat if it was available... Current cage is only 67cm wide (26.5 inches) and a bit shorter. I only have 1 budgie but he is waiting for a friend. I suspected he was sick but the bloodwork didn't show anything. Now we need to do another checkup just to be safe before finding him a friend. Our first bird we found outside in Sweden (also budgie) she was attacked by other birds. I got very attached to her and 8 years l8er she died. I was broken and I am against keeping birds at that time (still conflicted but I love birds). Long story short. Swedish market sux and I don't think "BirdsConfort" ships to sweden.
I am upgrading my budgie’s cage to a MUCH larger one…. And I realized I don’t really know what she needs, just what I think she needs. I want her to have a better life… I bought almost everything you mentioned in the video! Thank you!

I would love to see a video about how you keep your room and birdcages clean! That'd be super useful, thank you!
Your passion for birds is just adorable, thanks for your videos, very helpful to me.

On November im getting so much bird supplies now that I know what my bird needs :)
Thank you soooo muchhh, I didn’t do the correct setups for my bird cage but after this vedio, I learned and I have bought what you showed me thank you
Im getting a bird soon and you and Marlene MCholen are the only people I watch
Awesome cage and video! My budgies love natural perches. Especially the grape wood from Parrot Town. I like that you use platform perches too. Rocky loves hers. Can't wait to see what new bird you are getting!!!❤💚🐥🐦😊
I love your helper!🥰🐤
Thank you so much!! My birds love the Parrot Town perch too. ❤️❤️
I love the way you vlog and deliver information... Love watching your informative videos. keep it up! and looking forward for more videos.
Your videos are informative, straight and to the point. Great job with the editing to keep the pace up as well. Looking forward to more good stuff from you!
Thank you 😊
Your videos are so informative! You deserve more attention!
You should definitely do a video on diy bird toys! You can make a video on diy shredding toys, climbing toys and so much more!
Maybe diy bird plag stand??
This is very helpful! Thank you! I’m getting a Indian Ringneck in 2 to 3 weeks because I recently lost my Green Cheek Conure. I always seem to have a difficult time figuring out them best cage placement. Thank you for the help!
I'm not sure if someone else has commented this already, but you can still use dowel perches! Take a knife and slice off parts of it to give it texture and variation. Go crazy with it. Don't hold back!
Corrine Draws I’ve tried and it’s hard. Trust me.
Did this, budgie got a piece of wood in his eye (he’s fine), gave me a heart attack and a half
@@malikes4591 Well that's good! :)
Amazing cage set up!!!😃🦜😱
💕 Wow ! The new bird should love this cage & toys ! Can't wait to meet her with you ! (I'm a subscriber with Marlene, so I'm going back & forth from your video to hers) 😊🙋🏻♀️
I’m getting a bird next month and I really have been stressing about doing my research but this channel really helped me learn a lot about birds!
nice :)
Very informative!! Good to know about the different kinds of perches and also about the food bowls. You know so much about birds! Lol Duckie and Kermit are so cute too! Very excited to find out who that cage is going to be for! 😊
Thank you so much! Kermit was hiding in my hair 😂
Live Laugh Birds 😄🥰
Live Laugh Birds hat time of year do you start taking Kermit out for walks with his harness again? I guess it’s too cold still? Oh, and what about ducky?! I forgot she had been out before too, she was so cute in her flight suit! 😆🥰, does she enjoy it or tolerate it enough to continue to take her out again ? One last thing 😅, you should post more again in the TH-cam community posts thing, I love those because we get to see high quality cute pictures, and it gives us a heads up about things like new videos etc
CenturianEagle it’s still very cold and snowing outside, it’ll probably be late March or April before I can take the birds outside again. Ok I’ll do that! 😊
I got a huge bird cage and ordered a bunch of bird stuff on Amazon! Girl you don’t know how much you helped me, i’m getting a Cockatiel soon. 👏👏👏
My Budgie Have a clean cage👍
Hello! I have been loving your channel for quite a while, this was so helpful! Thank you! ♡

Hi Layla Ammons! I’m about to get 2 budgies! It’s not going to be easy though •~• I am going to buy a nesting box to breed my birds (hopefully) anyway just wanted to put that out there
EmmyTDC lol, we are so random
@@emmythefrog aww. That is so exciting! I would absolutely love to do that as well! Budgies are amazing little birds!
Layla Ammons I actually got my budgies 5 days ago! (Yay!) But they had 4 that we’re available I couldn’t chose they actually let me get all 4 for the price of 2!!! There all happy and hopefully I can tame them very soon ❤️
@@emmythefrog oh my gosh! That is so exciting! Four budgies will be so fun! How many boys and girls? What did you name them! It is going to he so much fun to tame them!
You’re Amazon list is amazing! I can save my money and plan for a bird in the future! It’s got everything I need instead of going to a whole bunch of different pages and getting overpriced items! :3 you are amazing with birds!
I love your videos so much and there really helpful I'm looking forward to buying 2 or more birds and now that I know many things about birds i am so excited!! keep up the good work you are amazing😁

This will be useful cause I’m possibly getting a new bird :]
Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much, I really want a bird and watching your videos help me get ready for one!🦜🦜🦜
Thank you! Now I know how to set up a parrot cage if I ever have one :D
Awesome advice as always! You are the bird whisperer!
A tip. 🙂
The only thing I would like to see more of in bird cages, for small to medium sized birds, are skinny perches.
More about cage width...
Horizontal space is the real importance for birds.) :D
It's understandable that we can't all have perfect cages though, but we can all still try to have good cage set-ups.
Getting a budgie soon. Although finding one has been hard, these videos have been very helpful
this is official: THE MOST HELPFUL CAGE SETUP VIDEO!! thank you so much. p.s how old are you?
I am upgrading my budgie’s cage to a MUCH larger one…. And I realized I don’t really know what she needs, just what I think she needs. I want her to have a better life… I bought almost everything you mentioned in the video! Thank you!
Awesome cage! Love it 😍 plus, not so expensive for it's size! Love your channel and birdies!!! 💚💚💚
Thank you so much 💚💚
I have learnt so much from you and Marlene over the past few days. Went out today, got them(lovebird and cockatiel) all new toys, pre ordered their new perches and bought millet for their training.I cant thank you both enough for educating me... never too old to learn. #engagednotcaged

Funny story
I built Victoria’s cage wrong and to change to poop tray I have turn move the cage because it opens to the back.
Victoria the green cheek conure haha
Cannabisong wth (what the heck)
omg same!
Cannabisong what???
I did the same thing lol
what's funny is that I've had a bird for almost four years with a pretty good cage setup but I still looove watching these cage setup videos. sometimes I see new things that I think are cool and they go right in my amazon shopping cart
I actually just got some really good foraging toys at petsmart and I’m also getting a flight cage soon for my budgie :)) I’m improving
Sameeeeee
Elle you make my days better everytime i see u cuz in nine days ima MAYBE for sure get a budgie❤️
Love the set up :) im getting a new cage next week , will be getting my second Quaker in 2-3 weeks what size food & water bowls do you use?
Thank you for warning me about bumble foot! I’m a new pet owner of a parakeet, I didn’t know about this, thank you!
i looked up safe trees and was able to use real branches from my front yard as their perches
how did you put them in without them falling???? i mean, how did you fasten them to the cage?
Great idea! Just make sure you wash them or heat them in an oven really well!
@@jayjaybae537 i cut them so they were a little bit longer then the cage, i placed them between the bars
@@archiesflock7517 oops i didn't do that, luckily they didn't get sick
@@luna38 that’s ok! You can attach washers, hanger screws and wing nuts if you want to attach them more securely!
Over the past six months I have been watching a lot of your videos on my personal TH-cam. Now here today I’ve finally got my two precious cockatiel babies! I’ve taken a lot of your advice for cage set up. Thank you for taking the time to make these amazing informative videos! 😁 🙏🏻 Long ago I had purchased a happy hut when I was preparing to get my birds, but quickly tossed it out when I learned that it was not good! I’d been trying to get cockatiels since Dec. 2020… (always sold out) now we are June and I finally have my lil babies and couldn’t be happier! Yay! 🎉
Yes my birds have natural wood perch and rope.. my parakeets were chewing on the rope but I said no in a firm voice and they obeyed
nice to know
Got a another parrot I see ah! There truly awesome I don't have any myself but my more distant family has a couple cockateils and a macaw cool video :)
this is such a great video
Thank you ❤️
That’s an awesome new cage! Love your channel! Ducky is adorable!
Thank you so much!!

I love your videos! 😊 I like to rewatch your vids when I'm having a bad day. You and your flock are awesome! 😍🐥🐦 please let us know if there is any way we can support you or other birbs 🤗
That makes my day!! Thank you so much 😊 you’re such a great supporter to my channel!! you also can support birds in need by volunteering at rescues or donating 💚
Definitely gonna make my own toys and perches.
My Lord! I wished there was some bird products store where I live. I am amazed at how badly the bird care is taken here...
New subscriber here ! I already have budgies but I wanna make sure I’m doing things right 🙂 your vids are my fav
Also, make sure you don't use mirrors as toys; they would want to breed because of that and become aggressive.
Just a small note :T
i just got my bird yesterday and as soon as i watched this i went out to my garden and cut some branches off the tree, works the same and its free
i got those perches u dont like we have one thats not its ones we found outside but we didnt know at the time the lady at the shop just crabed what we need but ill be adding new ones soon
hows your bird now?
I use newspaper for the bottom of the cage but I recycle cardboard and cut it up so it goes on top of the newspaper so that my parrot won't drag the newspaper out of the cage and she loves chewing cardboard and helps with her agression. Thanks again and enjoy your videos
Elle: thats not your cage duckey!
Duckey: dis may not be ma cage...but da birb room is ma kingdom

I dont have the money for big cages like that.
Soooo i will make a cage with my dad!
I will be able to fit in there with my birds and i eill even add a water feature. (waterfall)
Should i do it?
Μαρία Καραμίντζιου yes
Ever thought of looking for a local bird shop/bird show or buying one used? Bird shows/local bird shops are a great way to save money and there are always people giving away free cages or selling used ones for cheap.
I started using paper towel for the bottom of my green cheek conure’s cage and it’s doing very well.
I bought java perch and put on top of the cage , they love it ,
Awesome!
Im getting a cockatiel in one to two months!! My first bird ive ever bought and also, the first time my moms let me save up for one!! Ive been doing lots of research and will post on my channel when I get it.
