In this episode, I continue working on the coaling tower kit made by Walthers for my model railroad layout. I complete the paint and most of the weathering on the main part of the tower and get started on some of the details.

That is stunning work, sir! Absolutely brilliant. As far as the acrylic drying out, when I used to do large areas, I just kept a small puddle of water to dip the brush in and help activate the color.

I would recommend the Vallejo plastic putty or the one from Ammo by MiG. I use both for my OO scale kits and it works well. The Vallejo is more cream so better to fill small gaps while the Ammo one is thicker and will work well for larger gaps or holes like ejector pin marks.

@@WhiteRiverLine I agree, I discovered ITLA Scale Models and I'm looking at using some of their products since they user laser cut mdf. They are fairly new company and do not have as much to offer right now but seem to be adding some stuff here and there.

I use glazing putty from the auto parts store. Much cheaper than any modeling putty. It sands very easily and holds paint well.

Try with Tamiya putty basic type and Tamiya lquid surface primer.

Walther's doesn't make any wood kits that I am aware of. I considered doing a scratch build, but I'm not sure my scratching building skills are quite up to the task yet.
