I am a dalit and started a Insurance Business. I suffer most of the time because of my surname as it is stuck to my caste. We are Buddhists and no more Dalits,we are moving ahead ignoring the caste concern. We fight and win.Better rest of all Dalits should also stop calling them Dalits and change their religion to Buddhism. We are Firstly religiously oppressed then socially and then economically and politically...etc ect

I don't have your viewpoint. I am dalit from Kerala. I was born a dalit, living as a dalit and will die as a dalit. While living I am not concerned about my caste. It maybe because where I live, what I do and how I do it. As you said, you converted into budhism. Babasaheb Ambedkar also converted into budhism and still he is known for being born as a dalit. I am a proud dalit. Poykayil appachan, a dalit social reformer told it during late eighteenth century that even if we convert into another religion, we will remain the same as this casteist society will never consider one among them. Jai bhim, jai samvidhan

Thats something India needs today . We can't go on with slogans instead we need some major changes in the pillars of democracy.

Writing with Fire was just nominated on February 8, 2022, for an OSCAR for Best Documentary Feature Congrats to filmmakers and on the honor. The critically-acclaimed chronicles India's only all-female newspaper and its journalists who risk it all, including their own safety, to cover the country’s political, social, and local news from a women-powered perspective.

Isn’t it derogatory to call millions of people with such a derogatory name? Even these learned anchors are repeatedly using this word. Can’t we address them as just another human being- Amanpour?
Please excuse my ignorance. I am not exposed to this level of inequality.

We really need to change the look. Along with focusing on how it has cause marginalization and under- representation of certain social group. Their should definitely be an outlook on the oppressor caste. How this educated, elite, OC, having acess to higher education , migrating to other countries. Further using their privilege to oppress us in business, medicine etc. Through their caste microagression , anti- reservation things. Need to question their privilege first before entering into our spaces.
