May dressing Daisy down in 4x5 is my favorite scene between these two . I just love the way May says "No, You don't get to choose who cares about you."
I really like the parallel May makes with Coulson pulling her out of the cubicle. May has been exactly in Daisy's shoes but have learned to overcome it, and wants Daisy to know that it will turn out ok for her too
@@toastyin it's not shown in this video, but I like how she brings up Lincoln to Daisy. The reason is because I think on some level, she's also referring to how others died so she could live, namely Lash. Both she and Daisy lost someone they loved.
That is one of my favourite scenes ever! I love how May was the one to initiate the hug because she felt how much Daisy wanted to hug her. May truly understanding how much Daisy loves her (!!!) and being the one to finally express physical affection when she's usually the reserved one was so moving.
I am so glad this exists. While Coulson and Daisy are obviously an iconic duo, I find May and Daisy's mother-daughter dynamic to be absolutely precious as well and it deserves to be appreciated.
Dana says- Thank you for highlighting one of my favorite relationships on AoS. I think May cared for Skye/Daisy from very early on but in trying to fight exposing herself to more potential loss, she at times was hard with Skye. I think she believed she was protecting herself from getting hurt if something happened, and also helped protect Skye by making her get her focus on learning to be a good agent. I love their relationship so much. The only thing I would have added to the video is the moment when Daisy thinks they are going to explode upon hitting the Shrike tower, and she grabs May's hand. Great video.
Cal may have been her father, but he wasn't her daddy... wait he kinda was for a bit but Phil stole that role from him. *he even makes dadjokes so you know he's legit* and well Xaijing was her mother... but May was her mommy
5:23 Just a reminder that a few episodes ago, Mei was ready to fight the damn Sif (who is thousands of years old and much stronger than an ordinary person) just because she wanted to take Daisy.
I love watching this over and over and over again! I heard this line wrong "Game on" I heard it as "Be a mom" also after watching season 7 I now have context for when May says "Daisy, I can feel your guilt...." I thought it meant that she could feel it cause they are really close. But know I now that it means, she can feel it cause she is an empath
This is what a family really about and how much pain people go though to be a great family! Also it a great way of showing power of a woman and love we show!
I can't believe it's really over. No more Philinda + Daisy moments, no more bus kids, no more of this big, chaotic, unconventional family. I miss them and the show so much
7:15 and 12:35 both make and break my heart 10:09 ugh Robin just summarized Philindaisy and I'm so glad Agents of SHIELD writers wrote that scene what a great video 💙
Unfortunately I couldn't include every scene or else this would be way too long! They had a lot of really nice moments in season 1, like when Skye pretended to be May and when she came back, etc. that I had to cut out too :(
@@toastyin I completely understand, this video was absolutely phenomenal. You really captured the development of their mother daughter relationship. 😁 Nicely done!
She looks at Daisy like he needs to protect her she has to protect her and she treats Daisy like her own daughter like it or not May is pretty much like her mom
I think this is the relationship I was most disappointed in how it continued on the show. The first two seasons (maybe even 3) of Daisy and Melinda's relationship was so great to watch. From beginning of season 1 with Melinda not trusting Daisy even though Daisy admirers May and looks for her approval (there's an underling of mommy issues present) to throughout season two where May has taken Daisy in as a protégé and they develop an almost mother-daughter relationship to season three there still being an equal underlying admiration and love from both parties towards the other, this relationship was one I definitely fangirled over. May never had a child and Daisy didn't get to have a mother to guide her, so they filled those parts for one another. But then season four, both hardly shared any scenes together and when they did, it was all "business". There seemed to be no personal relationship there. Season five got worse but we saw small glimpses of it in season six. However, season seven was just as much as a disservice. Season four was the last season where the writers wrote about what the fans mostly cared about this show: the relationships and loyalty. The only relationship that was constant and lovely to watch still was Coulson and Daisy's. There's never swayed. Fitz grew apart from the group and only seemed to have ties to Jemma. He betrayed Daisy in season five but there were no ramifications. It was all forgotten about. (Remember that AMAZING scene between the two of them in season 2! STILL brings me to tears!) Jemma also betrayed her friends in season six and forced her her team to go to a place they didn't want to go and her actions didn't have any consequences. Mack's loyalty to SHIELD just kept changing to whatever "fit" the story best. He wanted to leave SHIELD in the beginning of season 5 and is in that mindset even midway through the season, only to be given the title of Director by the end of the season. Throughout season 6, he's committed to the organization but then in a matter of 10 mins, towards the end of one episode in season seven, he drives off and doesn't care about being stuck in the 80s and wastes his life away. Just so that in under 40 mins, he change his mind again. And don't get me started on how the writers completely forgot about his cute and sweet older-bother/partner relationship with Daisy! YoYo stayed dormant. There was no growth with her. I used to enjoy watching her and see what was going to become of her, but from season six there didn't seem to be much for her to do. They gave her a boyfriend for a couple of episodes just to incite drama and make the audience "care" about a death occurring. May also stayed stagnant. She came to care about Daisy up until season three, but then became a walking zombie again after season four. And just to "spice" things up, the writers gave her the most bizarre power that made no sense as to how she obtained it in season seven. Daisy, thankfully, had a good arc. She was the saving grace. Enoch was a gem to have in those last two seasons. Sousa was a blessing and I wish he could have come into the series a little earlier. There were amazing episodes in seasons 5-7, but there were far and little in between. I'm one of the many that loved GoT. The first few seasons of the show were amazing because of one reason: every character's choices led to rewards AND consequences. AoS characters continued to make crappy choices that jeopardized the relationships they (supposedly) held dear and there was zero ramifications. They all walked away still alive and well. Coulson is still "alive", May's "sacrifice" at the end of season six was just erased, and Mack (the man whose loyalty to SHIELD is the MOST questionable out of the team) is in charge of the organization. Sorry for the long ramble. I'm just so sad that the relationships between these characters didn't get justice for the last half of the series.
Everything was shaken up in season 4 because Daisy left SHIELD and her team for most of the earlier episodes and the rest of the team was basically disbanded because of the new directorship. Looking back, you can definitely see that there was a lot tighter team relationships in the early seasons because everyone was working together. After Daisy returned in season 4, the team was basically pulled apart at every moment. May was replaced by an LMD, then in the framework they were all different characters, then in Future Earth they were scattered, then once they were back in the present Coulson was taken by Hale, etc. That meant that there were a lot less to "see" in terms of team dynamics, but I think that also made some very emotional themes. Even though we couldn't see them interact on screen as much, a lot of the character growth and development was still influenced by the relationships they had. Daisy left SHIELD because of her fear of losing her shield family, while they were still yearning to get her back at every opportunity. In the second half of season 5, we see how Daisy and May cared so much for Coulson, even risking the fate of the world to save him. Similarly in season 6, they were both holding out hope that Sarge would turn into Coulson, motivating their decisions to trust Sarge. It was Daisy's sisterly relationship with Jemma that pushed her onto the Chronicom ship. It was Coulson's trust and belief in May that pushed her to open Coulson Academy. These themes are what makes it those rare emotional points between the characters in the later seasons much more gut-wrenching. We know how much they mean to each other, and then (mostly) we see them finally get to acknowledge it. That being said, I 100% understand the frustration of the characters not getting their time to get together. I wish we could have seen Daisy talking it out with Fitz after what happened in 5x14, May having some closure with LMD Coulson in the epilogue, Daisy finding comfort with May after witnessing Jiaying die -again. Agents of SHIELD was built on these wonderful relationships, and even if they don't explicitly show it on screen, I think the beauty of it is that we fully feel it. That's also why I'm hoping that I can showcase how these relationships grew through these videos. I'm working on some more, one namely being the Mack and Daisy relationship that had a pretty great comeback with Sousa in S7.
@@toastyin I agree that after season 5, the team was mostly disbanded because of Daisy leaving. And the way it was handled in season 4 was great, you see the frustration in both Mack and Fitz (who feels betrayed and voices it) and it's extended throughout the season. I'm fine with there being strain, but in season 5 and onwards the show became one that just dealt with the world ending and the team trying to save it. I compare it to MCU and DCEU. While the former of the two focuses on the action part more on the films, the MCU showcases action but also puts an equal emphasis on emotion. That's what makes the MCU a higher quality than DCEU. Season 4 of AoS was the best season of all because for three seasons we saw this team of different individuals grow together as a family due to their similar ideologies: SHIELD helps protect the world from villains. One event (Lincoln sacrificing himself) leads this unit to break apart. We watch an entire season of how every member is affected by this. And we as an audience feel the pain as well. But that was all forgotten about and put into the back burner from season 5. We had ONE moment of Mack wording his feelings of recognizing he no longer has a daughter. May discovers she *could* have been a mother and that also was only given some emphasis for about an episode. Problems would come and it sucked that the writers wouldn't discuss it on the show. Season 7 was better than 5 and 6, but still had a lot of missteps.
Fitz wasn’t himself when he tortured Daisy and besides that Fitz ended up dying so the OG Fitz that was frozen had no idea he’d ever end up doing that to Daisy and I’m sure he never would do it.
@@pyr1412 That *was* Fitz, though. That was a future version of Fitz who betrayed Daisy. I'm not saying I'm mad at the decision. IMO, it was a *great* idea. It was an amazing piece and probably the best written episode of the season, maybe in the top ten episodes of AoS. It made sense as to why Future-Fitz did what he did. What's upsetting is how the writers didn't face the aftermath of it. Discuss the ramifications. How does this friendship heal? *Can* it heal? He chances her safety/health/trust/ friendship all for the sake of "science". After he pulls out the "chip" from her, her words to him are: "I will never forgive you." But we didn't get consequences. We got a dead Future-Fitz (which was another pretty damn good scene) and the topic was never brought up again between them. Even Daisy and Gemma's relationship isn't changed much.
Daisy Johnson was the child of the Shield Melinda May was the lover of the Shield And Phil Coulson... was the Shield itself. Thematically, metaphorically, and literally for all of them. Daisy was protected and raised by S.H.I.E.L.D. even without her knowledge. Melinda was a workaholic who focused on her job and duty to SHIELD and fell for Coulson. Coulson was the one who died to protect the world and was resurected once more and continued to guard it even at the cost of himself.
i love the music in the background. When May beat the crap out of Ian quinn, I got so exited. I'm so exited for all of this. When may said "You have to decide why you're here, we have a mission and its not to find your parents, if you can't put aside your personal attachments, then you shouldn't be here" I was like oof. Then when this happened, I was like double oof " Agent May, your professional opinion, will this girl be of any use to us on this plane?" "No," I was like double oooooffffff
Aww! May Has Always Cared About Skye, The Disrespect Skye Had For Her In Season 1 Really Annoyed Me! Look When She Attacks Quinn For Skye? Skye Needs To See More Of What May Does For Her! 🥺🥺🥰🥰
@jacelynnshadbolt8301 May Wasn't A Fan Of Her Because May Didn't Want To Get Attached To Her And Skye Didn't Serve A Purpose To The Team, But May Was Never Nasty To Her..Even The Time She Said It's Not Our Job To Find Your Parents So If You Can't Put Your Person Attachments Aside You Shouldn't Be Here, That's Just What Skye Needed To Hear..But Until S1 EP 9 Skye Was Fine With Her, It Was After May Iced That Woman That Was Out Of Control Even Tho Everyone Else Agreed May Did The Right Thing, Skye Started Being Vile And Speaking Badly About May Hense Why Coulson Had To Tell Her Some Details About Bahrain So She'd Understand May Isn't A Bad Person 🥺
Hello @toastyin! I have a big request for you. Can you please do a French version of your videos because they are really awesome and I love them but I'm French and it's more easy for me to understand. Thank you so much for doing you videos. I love you! 😄
Hi, thanks for watching! Thank you for the request, but unfortunately I don't think I would be able to do that, since I don't really have the time to rewatch and re-record all the clips in French! I also don't think my french is good enough for me to pick out all the good dialogue haha. Je suis désolée, j'espère que tu aimerez les vidéos et j'apprécie ton soutien! -I hope my French is ok! Your English is wonderful :)

@@quake8816 I have my clips labelled by character/relationship so I know which ones I need. As I edit, I go through them and trim it to the good parts. I usually then try to find good background music (which is actually harder than it looks!). I'll adjust the sound balance and the timing of clips (lots of cutting and transitions to try to fit everything in the time). Then I add the text and do final polishing. I probably end up exporting the same video like 3 times because I always find mistakes or I didn't like how a transition looked! I'm currently using the Lightworks editing program.
i'm glad we can all agree that daisy was basically philinda's kid
Philindaisy!
I don’t care what the MCU says Skye is May and Coulson’s daughter
100 % there daughter
The daughter/child they wished they had, but couldn't for some reason.
Jemma and Fitz were their kids 2.
They really robbed us by not letting Skye/Daisy be philinda's child
She is in their hearts :)
Family is more than blood
The Jiyang storyline was incredibly. Dichen Lichman played the hell out of that role.
As daisy says in season 7, she sees everyone on the team as family, which is why she was dreading the final mission.
Right they should’ve adopted her
May beating up Quinn was one of the most satisfying scenes in the show. It was the first time we saw her actually get emotional.

May is Daisy’s mother and Phil is Daisy’s father. ❤️ she is essentially their kid. I love them together so much
In the beginning May was not found of Skye, but as they grew May started to care more for her, and had soon started to see Daisy as a daughter
I think May was a little more wary of her in the beginning because Skye reminded her of herself before Bahrain.
Especially after Skye got shot and she started beating Quinn's ass. Then said that Skye didn't deserve to die.

You also could have included the scene from season 6 where both of them saw Deke making out with Snowflake in Sarge's truck and got disgusted.
EPIC JUST EPIC!!!
I love how May didnt use gun And Daisy too
Daisy is basically coulson and mays kid
I miss them 😭
Sorry I have multiple comments, but I need to add one more. On season 2, episode 5, I love the tension "Stand down skye...I said stand down"
Yo at 10:20 when it was daisy and may sit in the pod, daisy said hey mom to may!!! How did I not catch that!!!
I think she said “game on” but I definitely heard “hey mom” at first
I miss Shield 😢😢😭
Daisy Johnson was the child of the Shield
Melinda May was the lover of the Shield
And Phil Coulson... was the Shield itself.
Yessssss
Philinda'a daughter 💞
Not be crying throughout this entire video but really breaking down starting at 1:08 ...
For me, 2x20 is the most painful episode to watch about them
Well just tell where I can find this already??!!!!!
I am a tiny little Asian woman and I love them!!
Almost similar to Anakin and Ahsoka

Aww! May Has Always Cared About Skye, The Disrespect Skye Had For Her In Season 1 Really Annoyed Me! By All Means, You Don't Have To Like Someone Right Away..But Some Of The Things She Called Her Were Extremely Disrespectful, Yes May Is Miserable But There's A Reason For It..And She Still Does Anything To Protect Her Team, Even Considering The Way Skye Treats Her! Look When She Attacks Quinn For Skye? Skye Needs To See More Of What May Does For Her! 🥺🥺🥰🥰
May wasn’t exactly kind to her in the beginning either.
Beaultiful Aways freedon Forever
It's so dark I ain't see nothing turn on the light pls
Hello @toastyin! I have a big request for you. Can you please do a French version of your videos because they are really awesome and I love them but I'm French and it's more easy for me to understand. Thank you so much for doing you videos. I love you! 😄
I hope my English is not too bad
Hi, thanks for watching! Thank you for the request, but unfortunately I don't think I would be able to do that, since I don't really have the time to rewatch and re-record all the clips in French! I also don't think my french is good enough for me to pick out all the good dialogue haha. Je suis désolée, j'espère que tu aimerez les vidéos et j'apprécie ton soutien! -I hope my French is ok! Your English is wonderful :)
@@toastyin OK thank you I understand. Your french is good but - ez is for vous but it's not a big thing😉. Thank you for your comment about my English 😊.
How do you make your videos?
@@quake8816 I have my clips labelled by character/relationship so I know which ones I need. As I edit, I go through them and trim it to the good parts. I usually then try to find good background music (which is actually harder than it looks!). I'll adjust the sound balance and the timing of clips (lots of cutting and transitions to try to fit everything in the time). Then I add the text and do final polishing. I probably end up exporting the same video like 3 times because I always find mistakes or I didn't like how a transition looked! I'm currently using the Lightworks editing program.
What is show name ??
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
so I spoiled like 20 episodes
Which movie is this pls
It’s a drama. Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD. There are 7 seasons, so hold on tight! Best drama ever.
