Introduced as a stoic and emotionless pilot, May is burdened with the trauma over killing a little girl in Bahrain. Her journey through seven season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is about overcoming loss and grief as she learns to love again. She takes it upon herself to protect her team at any cost. She mentors and helps other through her personal experiences. She is The Cavalry.

I'm so sorry this took so long to make! I love Melinda May so much, but it was also so difficult trying to represent all the nuances of her character in a video. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this video :)
May is many things to many people, a mentor, a partner, a mother, and above all......a badass. Fantastic work.

She has lost so much 😭 but I'm so happy she became a teacher at the end, after all the agents that she has helped in her own way through the years
@@toastyin In a way, I’d say that becoming a teacher is giving her closure. The only problem is that she seemed to mask her sadness in the last scene. She loved coulson. Coulson Academy is her way of moving on, but I think she is lonely. As Jemma says, “We don’t move on. We hold that place in our heart, we close close it off, we lock the door, and we visit from time to time, but we don’t move on. Even after we say goodbye.”
@@juliakraus8609 I think she sees LMD coulson as the real one or at least a version and wants him in her life, because of that she invited him two times in the last ep but I don't like that he said that he might visit her.
I don't think she needs it to be with coulson romantically. She is completely opened up. To dating, to teaching and honoring Coulson.
@@ShieldVids well, in interviews showrunners stated that they still love each other and everything they went through only deepens that love, I always thought it was very clear in one of the last scenes, their glances, it was acted this way.

@@toastyin It's always difficult to edit your favorite character, because you are worried you can't show the true essence of them. I have many Melinda May's projects open but never finished one because never satisfied enough. I just want to show how amazing she is and I'm not sure I am able to. Hope one day I will! XD
Also... the Bahrain story had me in tears. The way her life changed in a few seconds.
