I didn't realize that when I first heard it but when I finally got it I couldn't stop laughing. This is a show that you NEED to watch more then once to get all the inside jokes and plot hints and twists.

She hadn't been an agent for long and figured that would kill him. And it would have, but he had help getting out of there. He had no allies in the building so not a single person would have thought he could make it out alive, but then he made a new ally while he was dying.

Just finished rewatching Season 2. Episode 2x10 - Skye gets untied by Ward and as he is checking the hallway she sees the gun in the dead guard's holster. Ward turns around to get the 4 shots to the chest.

Framework ward was what I thought real ward could’ve been during season 2 at least partially when he left Kara to protect her before he went apeshit in season 3
@Owen Mabee yeah it seemed like that was the route when he was giving info and all that before coulsok gave him to Christian and even after when he forgave Gemma and went to help Kara when he could have run. But when they had his younger brother say that wars was suddenly a dick to him or changed after the well really ruined some of his backstory for me. At least we got framework ward who proved he just needed the right person at the right time

This needs to be a lesson. You see, Ward managed to piss off everyone. Daisy (obvious reasons), May (slept with her and then blew up her husband), Fitz and Simmons (drowning incident), Bobbi and Hunter (torturing Bobbi and shooting her). Anyway, non of them managed to kill him.
So, Ward thinks he is indestructible, guy messed with everyone and caused so much trouble, yet still being able to walk on his two feet. He decides to screw with Coulson...dies in the next day. Don't screw with Coulson, he may act nice and fluffy, but guy is easily the scariest and most badass member of a team.
Coulson is the Dad... you don't fuck with dads
Well Daisy could break your beck with the flick of her wrist and Yoyo could also break your neck before you knew what was going on, but of the non enhanced bunch your prabably right.

I wanted Daisy, Fitz or Jemma to be the one to kill Ward but since Coulson brought Ward on the team it only made sense

Ward being Hydra was the best twist this show had for me, they really built his character well that it was a big sucker punch when he betrayed them
Probably helps that they didn’t tell Brett Dalton until right before it. He genuinely thought he was playing a good guy.
I was really hoping for a redemption arc. I was broken when hive got to him.
Watching Daisy just empty her gun into him was so cathartic when I first watched it.

It's actually kind of sad because all of his life he was looking for a father figure and one used him for his goals and forced him to kill his dog and the other hated him with a passion after his betrayal.
Yeah, was such a deep and complex character. I actually really enjoyed him on the show because he was so interesting and complex. I don't think he was ever evil just manipulated and lost all hope till the point where hate took him over. It's like Daisy said in 3x09. "The reason Ward kills isn't because he feels nothing. Its because he feels to much."

I love how they did Ward's character arc. So complex and layered and dynamic, but always very clearly far beyond redemption. I love that they didn't put him on any kind of redemption path and that they kept reminding us over and over again that we absolutely should not feel sorry for him because his trauma does not excuse what he did. He had many, many, many opportunities to actually redeem himself but chose the self-serving path every time. And then whined about how hard he had it as his excuse.
It was like the "promising young man" thing flipped on its head. Just brilliantly done.

Or you can like the ripple effect they have on the plot or other characters. There are a lot of enjoyable bad guy characters, doesn't mean you morally approve of their actions just because you enjoy the character. All of the friends on Friends are assholes, people still like them. I love Dukat from ds9, and there's no arguing he's a good person.

My favorite line in this entire series is still Fitz when he replied to a confused bad guy asked how he was stopped and Fitz replies with "science biotch" best line literally ever
I love this so much! I felt sorry for Ward at first when I watched the season 1 episode “Ragtag”, because he was so obviously manipulated and brainwashed, but I lost all sympathy for him after what he did to Bobbi.
I lost sympathy after he betrayed the team, slept with may to gain trust, kidnaped Skye, stole the bus and droped FitzSimmons out of it!!!!
Libby Reilly I should specify that I had already lost ALMOST all of my respect for him much earlier, but I kind of thought (at least, a very small part of me) that he might have been redeeemable until he tortured Bobbi.

Ward is one of the most complex characters I’ve ever watched in a show. I’m so impressed by the writers’ decision to maintain his natural arc, because it showed that despite everything he did, he never really got to do anything for himself. Once Hydra’s purpose gave him a chance to bury his tragic past, he thought he had something to live for, but once he figured out that he could have someone to live for, namely his team, his interests started to conflict. He still had good in him but this was shut down by those he had betrayed. It was these people that showed him that he had the potential to make up for his past in a positive way, but he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. It was only natural for him to want to destroy the good in him after it had been rejected by his team. The fact that this made me feel genuinely sorry for the guy is just testament to incredible writing.
He ultimately deserved what happened to him, but he was such an interesting character.

I love the character of Ward because he's so interesting and complex and I hate him for everything he did but I really want to love him, especially after the framework because he could have been so much more and it's heartbreaking because he could have been a better person but he wasn't and that's just the reality but I still wish Skye and Ward could have had more time together because their tension was real from the beginning but he messed up and just wow. anyway. Brett is an amazing actor to make a character so lovable but also despised AT THE SAME TIME!
