Absolutely not. Never gonna feel comfortable giving the government that kind of control especially if my tax dollars are funding it. Absolutely not. Never gonna feel comfortable giving the government that kind of control especially if my tax dollars are funding it. Plus it would probably barely function if other government websites are anything to go by. The Obamacare website didn't work properly for like a year after it went up lol.
Sure since its a state controlled platform you would assume the 1st amendment would apply but I guarantee they will find a loophole. It will quickly just become another form of state media I think.

That's the real culprit. Career politicians used any means necessary to control the narrative on social media platforms. Media corporations and other large corporations help their "yes men" get elected, and that creates a symbiotic relationship where to stay in office, you don't want to piss off the corporations too much, and to stay in a position of influence over politicians, corporations don't want to disobey politicians too much. If a corporation tries to break away from the previously made agreements, the politicians and corporations that benefit from the premade agreements will go after the defector politician or defector corporation.
I've actually gotten to this place where I am grateful we at least have ONE place where people can be totally unhinged. Where we can see the crappy things that have occurred. Too many platforms censor things so much that it actually taught me to be grateful for twitters wild West approach. It's also taught me to look past any nonsense i might have been bothered by in the past because I greatly cherish that Twitter does not overly censor everything. I respect the heck out of that. Plus there are tons of benefits towards learning how to share space with people you might disagree with, as well as learning how to not let stuff you disagree with bug you so much that you would want more censorship... I wish more aspects of our world could have this kind of perspective towards things nowadays. Rather than this widespread movement of censorship and other childish nonsense that's trying to create this false reality where no one's feelings get hurt.. Yeah I'd rather learn to live in reality and regardless of how difficult certain things in life can get, I feel I've found a way to see the good in life regardless of how crappy a bunch of other stuff might be.
