As a fellow Chinese Canadian, I want to provide some context: the last name “Tran” is a Vietnamese name. But I very clearly hear the mom pleading in Cantonese (a Chinese language commonly used in south China). This suggests the unfortunate family were refugees fleeing communism (in Vietnam, after the Vietnam War). Here is a family who fled persecution and thought that their adopted homeland of Canada is safe, only for a violent child killer to end the life of their child, and for the police to be so incompetent that no one was convicted for the brutal crime, 28 years on.

So the cops want the help of a psychic and guy with a divining rod but don't have cadaver dogs that could have sniffed the child out? Then they have three guys go do their dirty work for them they could have been shot by the suspect or imprisoned for assault or murder had they beat him to death. Harassed other innocent people just for owning a van. Told another officer to keep his mouth shut and not document the incident. So of course with those antics they can't get a conviction. This is worse than watching Mystic River and don't watch shows like Law and Order etc. either they give people the false impression law enforcement and the court system is not inept which it really is.

@@sharonbrown6595 You can't compare the unfortunate beheading of the young man with Karla Homolka. Vince Le was an undiagnosed schizophrenic- meaning IT WASN'T HIS FAULT. And risperidone has an almost 100% success rate in treating paranoid schizophrenia. You think be feels good about what he did? That was a tragedy for the young man, his family, and yes the perpetrator in that case. But no point punishing him more if he's not a risk to society. Paul and Karla should both rot, and on most other cases I agree with you as well. I just work with Schizophrenics, so I know they aren't faking it, aren't evil, but NEED to be supervised and medicated for their entire lives. They are already punished very much by their condition.

Then we have Michael Dunhee in Victoria still not found. My next door neighbor's Niece here in Naniamo, Lisa Marie Young is still not found after 20 year's. I believe they're trying to depopulate and prevent future generations from being born by taking girl's lives. Indigenous woman are at higher risk, and all woman are at risk no matter what your ethnic background is. Although in BC a lot of the woman and girls are either indigenous, or blond hair blue eyed.. And they don't make connections a town away from other similar disappearances. It's almost as if the government is allowing this to continue. There's more than one, two, or even three. Seemed to be a handler of a RCMP gone wrong who couldn't keep his criminal activity relating to not this but also implicated in a missing woman's charge prior and two rapes prior in which the sketch of the assailants match his description. He also didn't take the stand and didn't implicate his innocence by giving his timeline. Also prior to living in Kelowna implicated as a Bank Robber and the death of the two people executed. Innocent I would say not charged. He also doesn't even tell the truth about anything even his relationship with the former juror in which he says they are not dating but they clearly are then only after it's has exhausted the possibility of being charged tells the truth. Then wished the man who implicated him in the execution style shooting a shank in prison.

We get some REALLY stupid cops in Canada. Does anyone know anything about the cop who washed the evidence away? Is that cop similar in any way (i.e., hiring procedure) to the cop in Ontario who walked up to Jessica Lloyd's back door, and then walked away, while she was being tortured, and later killed, by Russell Williams? The cop didn't even take the license number of Williams' suspiciously-parked vehicle, nor did that cop tell her police force what she had seen once the missing person report went out. WHO HIRES THESE PEOPLE??? WHO TRAINS THESE PEOPLE???? Consider the FOUR Mounties sent to VPL to calm the distraught Robert Dzekanski. They were heavily armed and padded, he had a stapler, and they took him to the ground and killed him in their inability for the four of them to handle a distraught individual who only needed a bit calming and assistance. What would an actuary or odds maker say about a police force where four out of four are so incompetent? Yeah, the Canadian cop washed and destroyed the evidence, that's what we get up here.

The biggest mystery for me, why are people leaving their minor children unsupervised? It needs to become a criminal offence to allow your minor children out alone. because parents go 'oh I was out alone and look I was safe' (They never were, they just got VERY lucky) and they refuse to understand that there are monsters out there. And yes I absolutely agree. It should be a criminal offence to have them out alone. It blows my mind in the UK as well, you can't leave a kid below 12 home alone.
