Back in the day I almost bought a Charger in the 80s. I got talked out of it. I wish I had bought it now. You are almost inspiring me to attempt a restore myself. You have done a speclatuar job on that girl.
Beautiful restoration job guys, looks fantastic. I had two Valiants several decades ago, first a 2nd hand 68' VE and later on I bought my auntie's VG VIP. They were great cars, took the VIP around Australia twice when most of the outback roads were still dirt, sand and bulldust. Wish I had kept that car. Also had a 1953 side valve Morris Minor for a couple of years as a runabout, should have kept that as well. Hindsight is a marvelous thing...
Superb. Great job getting all the R/T specific trim, blackouts, stripes etc. Alot of work went into that after the paint was applied. I've just realised where the car was photographed outside. I go to the Haymans shop, over the road, on a regular basis.
Don.t forgot about spiders :)) . we love australian old cars. but you don.t wanna know what we found there, 2 snakes and a lot of spiders. Good luck bro
What a great rebuild, and video. Reminds me of a project I started and couldn't finish, I got to about the 1.20 Min mark of this Vid. so really understand what they have been through, up to that point.
I still got my dads charger. To think, I used to be embarrassed about it because the kids at school used to tease me, saying, my dad drove a wog mobile. How times have changed. To think, Aussies used to disparage an Aussie product as a wog mobile.
Almost perfect - pull that single carb and add some triple Weber goodness and you would have built my perfect dream ride (assuming it’s a 4 speed). :-)
had a vh pacer. same color and trim. main fuse blew at traffic lights and 2 coppers pushed me across intersection and fixed the fuse for me. was 1976 i think. no way would that happen now. probably book and defect me.
I always wonder what the 4 people who didn't like it were not happy with ?? I have watched it twice and I can't fault it. Do you know how much work it takes to make a car look like art ? Clearly not.
Beautiful job - Australian Chargers are just a fantastic shape.

Nice resto ,looks like it had pretty good bones to start. Still reckon these chargers are better looking than the American version

804 mins in the video what a beast !!
Fantastic job but with money no object I would have went the triple Webber model.
Just wondering where you sourced all the parts that you didn’t have for this build ? Nice build BTW

Killa Car, love it.
I wish you fellas could do up my 1971 charger
hey roughly how long did it take to rebuild the car. As me a 14 yearold is trying to restore one. cheers
Beautiful! Had a VH 265 XL Charger in 86 when I was 17. But on an original resto, why is the underside painted black?
Almost perfect - pull that single carb and add some triple Weber goodness and you would have built my perfect dream ride (assuming it’s a 4 speed). :-)
Its a 2 barrel R/T hence the red engine block. 6 packs were blue.
@@thedoctor8381 didn't know that had a
VH pacer was a two barrel swapped it to a 465 four barrel was very good scary
wow beautiful !!!
Ahahahah I have that same die-cast made by autoart! Btw beautiful restoration one of my all time favorite cars :)

@@RestoredCARs I've just emailed you the pics of my car, sorry it's taken forever.

The orange centre of the bonnet is too rounded...original was more square

What colour is that red on the grill??
Nice resto but it is a basic XL Charger.... not a E37-49
What kinda rear diff and axels is in it
I'd trade my 69 Charger for that.
Please make the video downloadable
what is that god awful noise?
