    Story time. Last August I moved to Calgary from the U.S. Your E30 was one of the first cars I saw on the road when I got into town. After 30 hours of driving (and 3 hours of getting reamed by border patrol), seeing a stupidly clean E30 put the biggest smile on my face. 6 months later you pop up in my recommended! Keep up the good work guys, you deserve way more attention.

    I have a 2.79 in my early E30 and I was playing around with a gear calculator to see what RPM I'd be turning at, say, 100MPH with a 0.50 6th gear. What I got was 2K RPM haha. Your car sounds badass dude, props.

    When u engine swap a car with an ls3 do u use the wiring harness from the car that the engine came from or do u need a custom one

    • @slightlyMADcustoms
      @slightlyMADcustoms  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The body harness that runs the lights still runs the lights. The engine harness needs to be for the LS. Can be a factory one or aftermarket.

    Hi guys,
    I have a e30 V8. My rpm is way to high.
    So the e30 325 diff is okey?

    • @slightlyMADcustoms
      @slightlyMADcustoms  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Your reading is too high to compared the actual RPM? If so you need a Dakota digital tach adapter box to alter the reading to read correctly with your cluster.
      Or your RPM is literally to high while driving on the highway? If so check your diff ratio and consider going for a lower ratio. Something like 2.89 , 3.25 , 3.50. If your e30 was an automatic car originally, it’s likely you have a 4.10 ratio which will be pretty high for highway driving

  • @steel330i
    @steel330i ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I’m using an LS1/T56 combo for my e30 swap and a z3 torsen 3.46 rear diff… do you think that this is overkill or just a loss of mpg on highway?

    • @slightlyMADcustoms
      @slightlyMADcustoms  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depending on your tire size it might be a challenge to launch without big tire spin. Your hwy cruising would be a little higher than I would prefer, but it’s completely up to you and how you plan to drive the car.
      If it’s more of a city driver then it’s not a big deal and will be so much fun off the line

    • @steel330i
      @steel330i ปีที่แล้ว

      Also apologies if you mentioned this in a previous video, but what did you decide to run for AC? coolant expansion? Power steering? and Oil catch can?

    • @slightlyMADcustoms
      @slightlyMADcustoms  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      - no AC in the car because I’m in Canada, and I didn’t want the hassle + weight addition
      - aftermarket universal expansion tank off the radiator. Tucked between the engine and the frame rail
      - GM power steering pump adapted to E30/e36 steering rack using chase bays fittings
      - no oil catch can, just recirculated into intake

    • @steel330i
      @steel330i ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m looking at an expansion tank from CAtuned… and good to know on the Chase Bay lines… I’m using the Sikky kit for almost all

    I can smell this video...
    I also have the 2.93 in my car with a TR6060 trans, its safe to say that 6th gear is useless unless you're doing 90mph, but the lower gears feel super peppy.

      @clemencepain9963 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Getting one is not too much of a problem. The problem is that E30s are the Holy Grail for Spinning in South Africa. So the moment you drive out in a clean e30 like that... pretty much say bye to it

      I thought about adding some power, but I think I’m best to enjoy that car for what it is. It’s such a nice balance of power and handling. Any more power and I’m really straining the chassis, the drivetrain, and the drivability of the car
