That was a really nice job you did there. Have been on the fence, but you just knocked me off it as I placed an order. You should do more videos- good presence.
I got one of these about a year ago in a flash sale...£31 if I remember rightly. Had it a year and still as good as new. Absolute no brainer...brilliant piece of kit for the price. Cracking vid as always Chris 👍
I have the Jobsworth x3 which is very similar apart from the Jobsworth has a better locking system with its handle. I picked mine up for under £30. Highly recommend. Great video thanks and cant wait for the next one Cheers
Just now found it on Amazon, and the Fixed Star 2 is only $51.96. Compared to the money my daughter paid for her Jet Boil that’s a steal! Scenery is brilliant as always in your vids!
quality review, these are just as good as the jet boil stoves and a third of the price, i normally just carry a ti mug and stove for coffee but this is great for an overnighter. all the best from Bristol.
Hi, really enjoyed your video about wild camping for a first timer on Pendle hill, I’ve got into wild camping but hot tenting and likewise work full time with two children - looking forward to watching many more for tips and advice 😀
I really liked the handle idea and also the pan support. I’ll be ordering one of those for the Jetboil. Not taking anything away from the X3 cause it’s very nice! Cheers for the rundown Chris 👍
Nice video as usual Chris. Some nice features on the stove (similar to MSR) and a really good price point. Just acquired a Jetboil Minimo as really liked the lower and wider pot to provide that extra flexibility. Thanks again. Keep up the great work.👍
Woohoo Chris is Back and out Doing what we love him Doing,I needed an MCM Fix and this hit the Spot👍 Cool Stove without doubt and a great bit of Kit Chris.Problem is Ive already bought the MSR Reactor you recommended to me but I suppose for the price of this unit it would be wise to have another Stove or at least have it as a Spare👍 Quality video as Usual Chris and great to see you back doing what you do best👏👏👏👏👏👏

I'm fortunate enough to have the X2 and the X3, along with the JetBoil Mini Mo. It absolutely holds it's own vs all the JB products. The only difference between the X2 and the X3 are the BTU's from what I am able to ascertain! There's a couple of small design differences as well.
I've got the oex tacana and so far ( 7 mins into the video) it's the exact same apart from branding etc. Great piece of kit and id recommend it. Just found your channel mate, about to binge watch. I'm doing my homework as I'm planning the west highland way come spring. Atb 🌲🌳

Great review (as always). Looks funky. I have a similar rig, the jetboil zip which I picked up in decathlon for £59. You were right about these sort of stoves being essentially water boilers and for that reason I rarely carry mine as I flask on day hikes and for longer adventures I take my trangia (I have about every accessory they do because I love them and have a stove/kit fetish) in one of its numerous combinations depending on the situation. Keep the reviews comming but no more fjallraven ones for a while please, I end up buying the damn stuff afterwards and my funds are low atm, though I might squeeze the nordisk oppland 3 you reviewed into the gear room as it looked just the ticket now my Mrs has the bug and insists on comming out with me. Here's the thing g I've had on these for a couple of years and got it for like £25 from China, and it was a great deal, I got it as an alternative to my jetboil for cooking stews etc, but now they cost the same as a jet boil £70-90
I bet you could do some mean deep frying out of that thing too. Make some wings and potato wedges, do a single burger patty or at least some taco beef, boil hot dogs or sausages and finish them of on the flame, refry your noodles in olive oil, do scrambled eggs, cans of soup, coffee, filet mignon might fit, unless you sous-vide it on low then finish it off over the flame. Might need a forks and a pair of tongs to grill in the absence of a real grill. I bet you could do a lot more than just boil water. I guess I'll find out soon.
One of the reviews on Amazon mentions that the fire maple is a lot louder than jetboil. Do you have any experience / opinion having now used it? I can't imagine it to be a great difference since how can any stove compensate for the decibel rating of the burner, but just curious either way 😊
They sound pretty similar to me Rob, from a personal perspective I am not concerned as to how loud my stove is if it's just me on a mountain, but having used both - I would say the Fire Maple is marginally louder. Hope this helps 👍
