  • In this video, I unbox and give you my first thoughts on the Firemaple Polaris Pressure Regulator Cooking System (long product name!). Could this be what you are looking for if you can't afford a Jetboil or similar premium brand stove? I also carry out a timed boil test.
    I will be testing this stove out further on upcoming wild camps.
    Many thanks for watching 👍

    Great review and video on this stove. I ordered this on watching this video and it has been absolutely flawless since using it. Some people can not afford the high end models but this is absolutely fantastic. Andy uk.

    Great video.
    I bought a Jobsworth X3 back in 2020. Almost identical apart from mine holds 1.2lt of water. Brilliant for multi person camps. I often take mine on family camps and its great for hot drinks and I use a small frying pan for bacon and sausages etc. I would highly recommend the firemaple stoves, very neat and reliable.

      Thanks for that feedback Doug. That’s encouraging. I was thinking family camping would be good too. It just feels very ‘neat and tidy’ and just gets the job done. Thanks for stopping by and I hope all is well. 👍Ben

    Good review thanks. This is actually about 1.2L+, I say this because most pots give the volume when filled to the brim, which is unusable, and this pot takes one liter with easily which is fully usable. With that in mind, the weight comparisons will also be equally skewed, and so this pot may not be so heavy, compartively afterall.
    The other think I like about this stove is the additional pot/skillet stand, which you can get for the jet boil but costs about $15 extra, which should be considered by anyone wanting to do a price comparison..
    The point about the regular not coming on for 1/4 turn. This is probably because it is brand new, as the valve settles in this will probably reduce. You can always rest assured that off will be 100% off, and no gas leaks.

    • @benhikescamps

      Many thanks Mark for that. Really interesting. I really like it. Thinking of getting the next size down to compliment it! Thanks for watching. 👍

    Great detailed review Ben😊👍. Good to know there are some cheaper options to the jet boil as the cost of that has always put us off. The size of this is probably too big for our needs. But we do like the neoprene outer🤩. Thanks for sharing, ATB Shell and Pete

      Hi both. I agree it is quite large but could serve a pair travelling I think. One stove and one boil for both. ATB - Ben 👍

    I like it especially the image around it. It does look sturdy and well made to. I definitely like the idea of just taking the burner, pot stand attachment and some billy cans. See you were using your favourite piece of gear, the sit pad LOL. Love the hat BTW!

    I've had a jetboil for 15 years and want one for the car boot for emergencies so just ordered a firemaple. A bit smaller than this one I think.
    I hope it works well. Doesn't seem as sturdy as the jetboil though

    Nice review Ben.
    Looks good I just think these cheaper stoves are now getting nearly as expensive as a Jet Boil which will be better quality and burn less Gas.
    I have a Jobsworth ( lucky not the one that got recalled )
    Cost me £36 delivered.
    That’s how much a budget stove should be.

    Thanks for showing us the new version. I’ve got the previous one without the regulator on. Strangely, your version’s pot support looks like they’ve gone a bit cheaper with it and it doesn’t have the folding out arms for stability. Something to consider if your planning to use for skillets etc. one thing I have noticed with mine and sounded the same on yours is the noise, It’s definitely not quiet. Out of interest, how do you rate your mini table you were using? I’m looking for one, but can’t bring myself to stump up for the Soto one at £45.

    • @benhikescamps
      @benhikescamps  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Jason for that. Yes, it does sound a bit like a rocket launcher but if gets me a quick boil then I’ll take that! My table in the video is a cheapy one from Ali Express purchased a few years ago. About £15 I think. It does the job but only use it for non-hiking things. My Cascade Wild table gets used loads more. Thanks for watching 👍

    • @jasonlatham175
      @jasonlatham175 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@benhikescamps very true about the noise, it’s the compromise for not paying a premium I guess. Thanks for info on table, I’ll check it out. If it’s the one I’m thinking of it’s the white plastic one but will have a look into it. Keep up the good work with the content
