I'm AMAB nonbinary, and after a transfeminine friend of mine was diagnosed with breast cancer, I asked my mother if there's a family history. As far as I knew, there was not, but it never occurred to me to ask. It turns out that yes, her sister, half sister, and cousin have all had it. This means even if I weren't on HRT, I should still be concerned about the risk of breast cancer.

That "men give birth into women" is actually a thing people believed at one point. They thought that the sperm contained a tiny fully-formed baby called a homunculus, and the woman was just an incubator. It had its detractors, because people rightfully pointed out that kids can look like either or both parents, so obviously the woman contributes too, but it was still a thing a good portion of people considered true.
That's something I didn't know before. It was very interesting when I did a brief search on this. I love learning new things like this and I'm glad I saw your comment here! Thank you for sharing
I remember seeing the diagram in biology class. So glad we've learned better, although now we have to deal with the "life begins at conception" argument. Knowing about the biological aspects of conception is a relatively new phenomenon.
That poor guy who was wrong about how chromosomes work. Like my dude, can we normalize being happy about being learning new things and not embarrassed? Surely she isn't the ahole. Boyo needs to quit thinking learning new things or even being corrected, is a negative experience.
also for clarification, is it receiving the vasectomy that is as easy as putting on a dress, or is it performing the vasectomy? I need to know if im qualified to make the snippy snippy. k thanks bye.
It's also funny how some consider putting on a dress to be hard work, such as a quiz where the answer was that the woman was lying about being sick all day because she was wearing a dress that day.
I assure you, pee really is stored in the balls. That's why when you can't go for a long time, the pee leaks from your balls to your eyes and you contract jaundice :)

@@HarryHarrison-j1h Large numbers of US Republican politicians are on record saying this or similar victim-blaming things. And some women, too, have made victim-blaming remarks. Mayim Bialik is infamous for it.

I do want to defend the long arms in 21:15 . It's supposed to be a double-spread for a manga and since we don't really open books completely, much of the extra length in the middle is hidden and it looks way more normal when reading the physical version.
Yeah, the idea that a vasectomy is comparable to putting on a dress is ludicrous, and that’s coming from someone who’s had one. It was relatively easy and painless, but there was still some soreness, and for several weeks that area looked like someone had used it as a speedbag.
Which is why the best time to get one is when your spouse is recovering from birth (that can take six weeks just for the mess to go away, let alone the pain)
Yes, I'd say an Akita, they're bigger, stronger, seen as a bit more difficult to train, headstrong, independant, not a good first-time dog breed for those not used to raising/socializing and training dogs.
Akitas are such nice dogs. Shiba Inu are aholes like cats. Also mini huskies are just as bad. Maybe it’s just the people who get Shiba Inus and mini huskies are just bad at training by dogs. But every single one I’ve met has been the most aggressive dog and poorly controlled.
@@JDMimeTHEFIRSTcats are not a-holes though. they are usually just massively missunderstood. While there are some cat individuals that are little bullies, most of the cat behaviors we humans think of as assholery is them reacting to us being inconsidetate towards their needs, them being insecure and frightened or them being not properly given excercise each day. A well kept cat, that is respected in their needs is very kind actually. When it comes to dogs: japanese dogs, even the small ones are working dogs, they were either bred to protect (Akita), which gives them a calmer temperament, but also a high grade of indepence, which can be difficult to deal with in societies, that demand absolut obedience by dogs. the medium and small dogs are all hunting breeds, that need high amounts of excercise, some of them have a tendency to vocalise, and all of them are extremly fixated on their human family. Which can lead to a variety of issues, when they do not get the excercise they need to get rid of extra energy, and when left alone by their human family for long periods a day. Generally people tend to get these dogs believing they are lap dogs, not realising they get a hunter that needs to spend 6h a day running, hunting etc. Which is very similar to what happens to huskies.
The "men can't help it" for assaults is horrible. I've had to walk away in a place of work because a man wouldn't take my no for an answer and kept lurking around as I worked and nobody helped. It's disgusting how people just excuse this behaviour.
Watch how these "I can't control myself" types act around a beautiful woman in a revealing evening gown when she's standing beside her rich powerful pro-athlete husband. They can 100% control themselves when they choose to - which means they're 100% in control of themselves when they choose to assault someone too.
One of the "manly men" i used to work with didn't believe he should take a few days of after his vasectomy. After a few hours of sweaty physical labour, well, picture large oranges. It wasn't good. 🙄
it's like a funky akita and pitbull (with partially cropped ears) mix imo. chonky neck seems to be a common trait of the more "bully" pits that get bred for ungodly muscle builds
@@spudmadethis also Shiba's are often more of a cute pet while Akita are more seen as working dogs, headstrong, independant, hard to train, not for first time dog owners. etc... so I vote Akita.
To be fair, the egg also has _some_ say in the assigned birth sex. Because it doesn't just let the fastest sperm in but has some mechanism of choosing which one gets through. But yeah, on a chromosomal level it's up to the guy.
Birth sex, period. Stop with the 'assigned' when the sex at birth is merely observed. Yep there's disorders of sex development which can't always be told at birth, but ASSIGNMENT literally only takes place in the case of visibly intersex infants. If the anatomy is unambiguously male or female, nobody bloody debates which sex to raise the child as. Intersex conditions are misunderstood enough without everyone misusing the terminology.
@@diarmuidkuhle8181 You're really desperate about that, aren't you. Please accept the reality that whether the external genitalia are deemed visually ambiguous or not, the sex assigned at birth is still only a "I think this one look like a .." and this assignment can easily be wrong. Even if the external genitalia look unambiguously like one thing, the internal bits can be the other. There's no debate going on, people are simply wrong. And that's not even touching the fact that gender identity development in the brain, separate from reproductive sex, is a biological fact, and we've seen enough wantonly unethical experiments on newborns to know that gender identity is established before birth. A child assigned one sex or the other at birth and having no reproductive Intersex characteristics can still be neurologically Intersex. So even if their internal reproductive organs match their external genitals, the gender they are assigned at birth can still be completely wrong. It's not an "observed" gender just because the baby isn't included in the conversation and can't dispute the "observation". It's wrong.
Wow! Some really bad opinions and beliefs out there. On the one hand, I’m kind of shocked, but….this is where we are now. I think perhaps more human biology and social etiquette classes are desperately needed for young people, so this problem can be solved. Communication education needs to be held as high as technological knowledge. We are social creatures by nature. Excellent video Jamie. ❤
I am VERY glad that I took biology in high school. While we didn't go into detail with external sexual organs, I at least left knowing how babies are made, among other body stuff.
The length of equipment theory is not true. About the only thing that MIGHT hold water on having a girl or boy is that female sperm apparently outlast male sperm in the woman's body, so if the sex is a little before the egg is reachable it becomes a little more likely that it will be a girl, whereas male sperm is apparently faster swimmers, so if the egg is reachable already the male sperm more likely to reach the egg first. BUT THIS MIGHT BE CORRELATION NOT CAUSATION. How about we just love the children we have unconditionally?
On Vasectomies: They are USUALLY very easy. A small cut, a snip, some stitches. Done. BUT: since every humans anatomy is slightly different there can be reasons why it is a larger procedure or you might need a second procedure. And not all can be seen befor hand. From the position of your "tubes" being slightly different making it necessary to cut deeper, over your testis being positioned differently, having the bloid supply nicked, leading to more bleeding etc. In addition post surgery pain is highly subjective, and the effectiveness of pain medication is based on individual factors In any case: Usually even complications will be minor: a bit more pain then expected, slightly longer healing time, or the need to open up avsecond time to stop bleeding or do an extra cut. What is necessary is to have a doctor, that takes it seriously, when you come in after the procedure and does not tell you, to suck it up. Even when it is "just", that you react more sensitive to pain, this has to be taken seriouse and a solution be offered. And you should plan in some days after to recover, ideally with a couple of extra days, to allow for recovery even when you are unlucky. And almost all who have it done, even those that had complications say it was worth it, for the peace of mind, and when in a relationship, because it often allows their female partner to stop taking birth controlle, which has side effects that are much worse, then those of a vasectomy, long term. I generally think people sharing their medical stories is a two edged sword. While on one hand it is good that oeople are able to inform themselves, but on the other hand the picture you will get this way is often highly scewed, since people that have negative experienced are more likely to share. And this has not taken into account, that there are groups that for Ideological reasons spotlight those negative stories to push a narrative. General tips on surgeries: ask allways, what is the worst that could happen, outside of death. Ask the average recovery time from shortest to longest without major complications, add 2 days to the longest, use this as your exectation when you will feel "normal" again. Ask for a pain medication plan, plus additional medication in case the plan is not enough. Ask for which signs to look out to reckognise something is of and you need to come in. Make sure to puck a doctor that tells you, you can come in whenever you want in the days after, when you feel like something is not okay. Ask for none-medical means to help with recovery. These can include: cooling or warmth (depending on type of procedure and time after surgery), movement or explicitly not moving around, breathing techniques, meditation. With some rare exceptions supplements, or "alternative medicine" will not do anything for you and is a waste of money.
What I have seen over the years ( I am 51 ) in me and in others is that as soon as a man can't perform the expected masculinity, in people my age used to be have a family, kids, and be at minimum economically independent and providing, their facade breaks, not being able to perform what society, family, friends and peers consider "normal" creates a ton of issues, and sadly quite a few end with mental health issues or going to an early grave ( lost 3 friends or aquatinted persons in the last 5 years ). My situation is extremely complicated but anyway you are told by many " how's that you aren't ( married-living with somebody- with kids- or a successful professional)" like that's all that life may be for a man, and if you fail, you are looked upon as a weird individual. That's my experience. And honestly, I told anyone that takes that route in conversation to kindly fuck off.
Yeah, I'm a 61 y/o afab and am very familiar with the other side of that coin. We were shoved into certain molds and expected to just remove the parts that didn't fit. A lot of me didn't (still doesn't) fit, but at least in most places the trend seems to be getting better. ❤
As a man who’s been completely ruined by the genetic lottery, even I know better than these losers. Even if I can’t fully relate, at least I know it’s supposed to work, an A-level in biology goes a long way.
6 is not average, the best research and meta studies put it at 5.1-5.5. The higher measurement comes from surveys where men self reported their size (who might have had some motivation to overestimate).
And because cis men have some breast tissue, it's also possible for cis men to develop breast cancer. So it's important to take note of any sudden changes in your breast tissue and be ready to talk to a doctor about it.
That was my thought. Yeah, a vasectomy is not a walk in the park any more than a root canal is, but it is not comparable to a tubal ligation or, especially, pregnancy and birth. Vasectomy patients are routinely given better pain management and more activity restrictions than c-section patients, which is absolutely absurd.
"It's only gay if you're the bottom" is unfortunately not *that* rare of a view among MaNlY mEn. It's idiotic, of course, and it's thankfully not as common anymore as it used to be... but, yeah, sadly not surprised to see that nonsense still pop up. (Then again, the idea of an "anal hymen" is hilarious even within that context. How would you even poop if that was a thing?! 🤣 )

My dad once said, during a breakfast out with my grandma in the weeks following my top surgery, that I handled that surgery better than he handled his vasectomy
My grandfather has prostate cancer, and he's getting hormone therapy to get his prostate shrunk. It's called androgene deprivation therapy, and it's meant to decrease the testosterone levels, which in turn would shrink the prostate gland. He's too old to be operated on, and the oncologist wanted to try a method with potentially fewer side effects. still no squeezing though😅😂
As I understand it, squeezing or massaging the prostate when it has cancer or even an infection is more likely to spread the problem around the body. So in the case of cancer, that would promote metastasis. Definitely not a good idea!
Transurethral microwave thermotherapy is used to shrink the prostate. As men age, the prostate enlargens. The swelling squeezes around the urethra, causing difficulty to urinate.
I actually encountered bad men's anatomy in the wild! Some poor lady on Twitter simply tweeted: Hold on, 6 inches is big? I just cannot believe that in an age where the answer to almost every question is 1 Google search away people still don't know jack sh!t.
Well, there's an exception to that AITA question: androgen insensitivity is carried on the X chromosome, so in that case, the mother's side WOULD be responsible for having girls, if she were a carrier. Given the rarity, though, it's pretty unlikely, especially since they also discussed the ratio of the dad's paternal siblings
Dresses are tailored to fit a female figure and just don't look good on the vast majority of men. Plus wearing a dainty lacey number when you have hairy legs like tree trunks will get you made fun of in public, and rightly so
I'd go a little off-track here. What's most important is feeling comfortable. If you feel comfortable in skin-tight clothing, fine. If you feel comfortable in looser clothing, fine. If you feel more comfortable with leggings, trousers, shorts, or jeans on, fine. If a kilt, skirt, or dress feels more comfortable on you, fine. I prefer trousers to dresses & will never wear a skirt because I hate skirts & don't feel comfy in them. Please please please don't wear something which you don't feel comfy in, even if you think it looks great.

18:20 when I started HRT and breast buds started forming I realized that it had happened before. Some time during my first puberty I felt a lump under each of my nipples. I didn’t think much of it at the time and they went away after a while. I didn’t realize they were breast buds until I started growing boobs for real in 2nd puberty. I looked it up apparently it isn’t uncommon for people to briefly develop breast buds during “male” puberty.
Genuine question, I am not trying to be mean)) why would anyone choose to be a woman ? I mean there's nothing wrong with being a woman, but who would choose to be one? The only reason not to be a man is male pattern baldness, what sre your reasons to be a woman, because I genuinely can't comprehend it
Fun fact: the X chromosome is the dominant allele and in the animal kingdom as a whole, the Y chromosome is evolving into extinction. The X chromosome contains a large part of what determines our secondary sex characteristics and the Y chromosome contains the switch which "turns off" the "female" development track. Obviously that's not all Y does but that's a huge reason for its existence. In XX people, the 2nd X is completely suppressed.
This, of course, is only applicable in the part of animal kingdom that uses X and Y - which I think is mostly mammals. Birds and some other reptiles use Z W chromosomes, in bees it's a haploid/diploid thing and some other animals have non allele based methods.
Seriously, the transphobic guys probably believe their Y-chromosome is the only thing keeping their pee-pee from falling off. 😆🤦♂ The Y-chromosome contains: 1) A bunch of junk-DNA that appears to do nothing. 2) A few genes that are also on the X-chromosome. 3) A few genes that are _not_ on the X-chromosome, but serve the same function as counterpart-genes on the X-chromosome. 4) The lone-gene that turns on the androgens at a specific point in fetal development. Then it _shuts off_ and does nothing ever again for the remainder of your life. 5) Genes encoding proteins that are specific to sperm production. Only 27 genes are actually active. The X-chromosome has _thousands_ of active genes. #4 and #5 are the only genes that are "specifically male", and only #5 is a "specifically-male gene" active during a cis-man's adult lifetime. [I wouldn't define a cis-man's maleness based on the ability to produce sperm, either.] And, as the OP of this comment stated: _none_ of those genes need to be all on the same chromosome.
Fun fact: in drosophila flies the females can lie fertilised or unfertilised eggs. Unfertilised eggs will automatically hatch male flies because in lieu of a second set of genetic information that'd be the default for their species. It basically boils down to if a female fly is unable to mate because there aren't enough males there's going to be an abundance of male flies as soon as the next generation hatches.
Re: "In XX people, the 2nd X is completely suppressed." That's not quite right. In each cell of a ciswoman's body, one X chromosome is inactivated, but it's completely random which X chromosome will be inactivated in each cell. Like in some cells the X chromosome from your mother will be inactivated, and in others the X chromosome you got from your Dad is the one that will be inactivated. Usually, random chance means that the inactivation will be 50/50 between both parents, but there are exceptions. This can result in a girl displaying symptoms of an X-linked genetic disorder like muscular dystrophy or hemophilia. It's rare, but it happens.
Assigned sex isn't just genetic from the man, it can also be affected by external factors. Men who have extreme jobs, like fighter pilots, airline pilots, astronauts, deep sea divers, underwater welders, mountain climbers, any job with high pressures or high temperatures, can lead to a higher number of AFAB children. The sperm carrying the X are larger, sturdier, and slower. The sperm carrying the Y are smaller, faster, and more fragile. So, the extreme pressures and extreme temps can kill off the sperm carrying the Y. Also, assigned sex can be affected by timing. It's all very complicated, just like sex and gender are both complicated.
Thank you for this -- I was scouring the comments to see if anyone mentioned how the X sperm and Y sperm work. It's a shame more people don't have more than just a super simple understanding of things that affect everything in our human lives ---- not just the sperm thing, I mean biology/human anatomy in general. :)
Will people stop misusing the word 'assigned'. The only cases in which a sex is ASSIGNED to a newborn is when it is VISIBLY intersexed. There has to be a reason for debating what sex the child most resembles / ought to best be raised as in order for it to make any sense to speak of assignment. In all other cases the sex is merely OBSERVED, and usually correctly. In the vast majority of humans, the internal plumbing matches what's visible on the outside. And never mind the fact that sex assignment for intersex babies with ambiguous anatomy often meant SURGICAL assignment, this just has nothing to do with simply noting whether a baby is physically male or female. This terminology makes it sound as though doctors just slap arbitrary classifications on babies, and that's not what happens.
Regarding circumcision, while there is no inherent adverse effects to it, it does permanently decrease sensation on the head of the penis. I only know this cause circumcision is rare where I'm from, unless medically necessary, so once I moved to the US and learned most are circumcised here, I did a LOT of research on it.
I have been with only one partner who was circumcised and that was so different to me, because in my country it is very rare. Handling the penis without its natural hood felt quite a bit odd and lube was necessity lol.
I had to fight my husband (USA) to not have our son circumcised. I think what finally made him think was when I asked if he planned to have any daughters circumcised? For those unaware, that's real, and it's removing the labia.
…and the entire reason why circumcision is commonplace in the US is because sex-hating fundamentalist "christians" decided over 125 years ago, that circumcising boys would "pReVeNt ThE sIn Of MaStErBaTeIoN" [misspellings intentional]. So we males in the US have had our genitals mutilated to suit the anti-sex religious believes of certain fundamentalist "christian" sects. And their successors, the modern "christian" nationalist movements, want to extend this even further and control *_EVERYONE'S_* bodies. So it's in your interest, too, cis-het men, to fight them.
It's totally normal and ok to have disappointment that your child isn't the sex you really wanted, but it's a grief the parwnt really need to process and get through so they can be a good parent for the kiddo(s) they do have.
Also, not dump that grief on their pregnant spouse when it just looks like misogyny. She's dealing with enough stress from being pregnant without wondering whether she needs to get rid of her husband as well.
I think the first one confused "urethra" and "uterus" and then assumed the uterus was the same as the vagina, which is why they say men don't have them (presumably they don't know about trans and intersex people). So in that way it was bad men's, women's and trans anatomy. 3 in one jackpot! 🎰
18:55 to the defense of why his arm is like that, thats from the manga JoJo's bizarre adventure and thats a double spead page so his arm got fucked up in the crease between the pages. Thats why his arm is weirdly long. It had to look normal in the physical book. But to be fair, you could a whole episode on mens bad anatomy on just jojos and it would be over an hour long. I love this stupid series.

Yeah, men seem to get jealous over the idea that they aren't contributing equally to the child if not more.

There's also a certain environmental factor. XY babies are much more likely to miscarry if the mother is under extreme stress during pregnancy.

In addition post surgery pain is highly subjective, and the effectiveness of pain medication is based on individual factors
In any case: Usually even complications will be minor: a bit more pain then expected, slightly longer healing time, or the need to open up avsecond time to stop bleeding or do an extra cut.

I do think that some bodies fit certain clothes better, but at the end of the day it doesn't matter to me what anyone wears, its all fine.
The Y-chromosome contains:
1) A bunch of junk-DNA that appears to do nothing.
[I wouldn't define a cis-man's maleness based on the ability to produce sperm, either.]
And, as the OP of this comment stated: _none_ of those genes need to be all on the same chromosome.
Thats not what dominant allele means.

So many of these memes have become AI nightmares. I don't know if it's better or worse than human produced ones.
I suppose that's where the German saying "Jungs machen Jungs, Männer machen Mädchen" (boys make boys, men make girls) comes from. Toxic masculinity.
@@diarmuidkuhle8181 but it's a correct term? Doctors look at a baby and assign it sex based on their appearance.
Knew about the timing thing, but not about the effects of physically demanding jobs...

Regarding circumcision it has no medical value 99% of the time. I don't think it should be illegal except for minors.
I had to fight my husband (USA) to not have our son circumcised. I think what finally made him think was when I asked if he planned to have any daughters circumcised? For those unaware, that's real, and it's removing the labia.
Parts of it yeah and most will say no for girls but yes for boys.
@@tealkerberus748 Yes!
Talk to a counselor and/or a good friend who will be with you through your disappointment to acceptance.
10:41 jamies out of the loop here
‘Pee is stored in the balls’ used to be an internet meme, and hearing Jamie say it completely unironically made me lose it… 🤣
FINGERS ARE HAIRY
Yes. All of them. The hair doesn't look the same on everyone but everyone has hair on their fingers
I think the first one confused "urethra" and "uterus" and then assumed the uterus was the same as the vagina, which is why they say men don't have them (presumably they don't know about trans and intersex people).
So in that way it was bad men's, women's and trans anatomy. 3 in one jackpot! 🎰
10:01 😂 OMG Bimini came to my mind from watching the thumbnail
19:16 "men cannot bend over" I beg to differ😂😂
That guy needs to see a doctor if he can't bend over 😂
18:55 to the defense of why his arm is like that, thats from the manga JoJo's bizarre adventure and thats a double spead page so his arm got fucked up in the crease between the pages. Thats why his arm is weirdly long. It had to look normal in the physical book. But to be fair, you could a whole episode on mens bad anatomy on just jojos and it would be over an hour long. I love this stupid series.
Yes Jamie a benign enlarged prostate can be treated with Finasteride.
Prostate cancer is treated with Eostrogen and Prostap (Leuprorelin)
I'm sure these medications sound familiar to many of us.
20:31 not only is this basically victim blaming as jamie points out, its also asexual erasure lmao
It’s comforting to know that no one knows how anyone works
6:55 that's just the dip on the hip bone mixed with the abs and too low body fat
Edit: it's definitely edited and probably dehydrated
The insult part of the "Men don't have hips, ya maroons!" one feels like "you morons!" yelled out by a pirate or some crap 😂
I remember Tiger Shroff being featured in a meme which is the closest link to Bad Men’s Anatomy
The bodies-on-faces thing is a reference to a famous work of surrealism by René Magritte, which is called something that will probably get censored by the bots but rhymes with "grape".
Another Jammi video to help me get up in the morning. Exactly what I needed today Love your vids Jammi ❤️
I love how Jamie was genuinely exasperated by the face bodies. Bless you, Jamie, you sounded like you were about to give up in that very moment. We love you!
10:25 - Not wanting to dredge up any traumatic memories, but if the torso-faces are to be compared to any aliens, it ought to be the ones from “Mac & Me.”
the "spinal fluid is semen" one is islam apologetics from fundamentalists, I just want to call it out because it is wrong on so many levels that I cannot even begin to explain it.
"Is it even possible to shrink one's prostate?"
Yes, but it's not a story the cis would tell you. (there are medications to specifically do this, anti-androgens also do this, and predictably, feminising HRT can do this too.)
'the cis' bruh. That's like 99% of the human race, not some evil cabal out to hide 'truths' from you
18:15 the reason it's like that is because of the way pages fold into the middle meaning when you see it in the manga it looks way more normal.
The whole rant at the end, which I very very much agree with, reminded me of the song XO (only if you say yes) by Enhypen. Perfect song that has a perfect message
Trashing on Goku from Dragon Ball Z on his neck and hair! 🤣😭🤣
RIP Akira Toriyama.
Love how I got Noah's I Know Better performance as an ad for this video
