i never understood why people could think women can't grow body hair. the existence of shaving razors being marketed towards women immediately disproves this...
You would also think that they would eventually have encountered a woman with leg hair, underarm hair, or even a tiny bit of facial hair. Must have been living under a rock the whole time.
I mean, men still get surprised when I tell them I fix my eyebrows. they always say "you are so naturally pretty". dude, my face gets a lot of work so you dont point out that I have a moustache ond treat me like garbage
"She can't conceive if there is no love" is just rape apologia. This book was made in a way that would justify men doing whatever they wanted to women without taking responsibility for children they may create through consensual or nonconsensual sexual acts.
I didn't realize that until I saw your comment- Sounds like they're trying to make it sound as if "you wouldn't have gotten pregnant if you didn't like it"
@marythewinter In 2012, now deceased Missouri state representative Todd Akin basically said the same thing via his infamous "legitimate rape" claim in response to why he opposed rape exceptions for abortion: that "if it's a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that thing down." Wikipedia stated this: "The term "legitimate rape" was called "loathsome" because it suggests that "there are different categories of rape - some real and awful and others that are not". Others took exception to the phrasing because it suggests that the victims who do become pregnant from raoe may be lying. His claims about the likelihood of pregnancy resulting from rape were seen by some as being based on fringe ideas like stress-induced miscarriage or Dr. John C. Wilke's "spastic tubes" theory introduced in 1985 and trauma-based theory introduced in 1999. These theories are not accepted by the majority of the scientific and medical community. Akin was not the first to make such claims, but was perhaps one of the most prominent until then."
Also, you know when they teach basic biology? In primary school! Because you have to start with a very rough picture before you can drill down into the details over years of "everything you've learned so far is wrong (i.e. vastly oversimplified)".
The myth that athletics would negatively impact women's fertility was among the original justifications for excluding women from sports. Other reasons included the belief that athletic women were "less feminine" or that it somehow meant they were gay. Sports segregation has always been about misogyny, not protecting women.
There are also plenty of instances where women beat men so they were kicked out and/or made to play with different rules so it was impossible for them to perform better than men again
The UConn women's basketball team was considered having an "unfair advantage in their league" because they regularly played against the UConn men's basketball team in grudge matches and won. They were punished for raising the bar too high.
I mean just look at softball, which has a larger, heavier ball that is made to absorb the impact and not fly nearly as far. It is a whole variant sport specifically manufactured to make women appear weaker compared to men.
A guy I once knew explained to me why he liked mathematics over biology: "In math, the basic rules almost always apply, no matter how deep you go into a subject. In biology, the deeper you go into a subject, the lesser the basic rules actually apply." And that sums up the problems I have with people screaming "bAsIc BiOlOgY" pretty well: True, detailed biology is never basic, and basic biology is never fully true.
Your literal skeleton changes during pregnancy. Your pelvic bones move further apart. You can't undo skeletal changes with "diet and exercise". Your body changes when you experience pregnancy and childbirth, and those changes cannot be undone. Whoever tells you that you should be able to snap back to the way you were before having a baby, should have their pelvis repositioned and then asked to fit into their old jeans. Signed, someone who had been pregnant and gone through childbirth.
Absolutely! The changes in your pelvis also continue with each subsequent pregnancy. My neighbor had 4 kids and can pop her hip bones in and out of her pelvis at will, and it doesn’t even hurt. The ligaments are just so stretched out from multiple pregnancies that they are now really loose.
@@nelliebly6616 Could you explain what I did that's so offensive? Is it my ignorance? I've never been pregnant, and the sex ed where I live is abysmal. Anyone who says “basic biology” has no idea what they’re talking about. Biology is really complicated in just about every topic that falls under it which, in my opinion, makes it one of the most unique subjects to study

Menopause... Girl, going in menopause comes with irregular periods... You are in the prime age for menopause. Your vaccinated boyfriend won't spread antiperiod aerosols in the air after his shot... Holy... Sometimes things happen in the body that may coincide with things happening to someone else's
@minestar2247 Yeah, because the time when a toddler's immune system is developed enough to receive childhood vaccinations coincides with the time in which Autism symptoms begin presenting themselves. It's not a cause and effect. It's just an unfortunate timing for parents who can't handle disabilities.
@@minestar2247 Andrew Wakefield you mean? That wasn't even about autism (his "findings" were stomach issues), he was just trying to find (and ultimately had to resort to making up) dirt on the combined MMR vaccine - so he could sell more of his measles-only vaccine.
In high school, my friend asked to go to the toilet because of her period, the female teacher told her "you should learn to control your menstrual cycle" Babes just cause yours has stopped doesn't mean you've learnt to control it 🤦🏽♀️
Jeez, that sounds crazy. In college i had bad period pains, so i asked teacher if i can go to nurse and ask for painkillers, and she said, that i can sit it through and that nobody died from period pains. And the other teacher wasn't letting me go to the bathroom to use pad. That teacher was the worst, we all hated her really badly, because she never let anyone go to the restroom or to the nurse. I had strong urge to faint during her class, so she would stop this BS with "You can go later on the break🙄"
According to a 2012 study, intense training like that of elite athletes can negatively affect male fertility, including: Sperm count: A decrease in the number of sperm Sperm quality: A decrease in sperm concentration and the percentage of normal and motile sperm Sperm DNA: An increase in reactive oxygen species (ROS) that can damage sperm DNA "so their ability to compete is more important than their ability to have children in the long term? MAYBE MEN WEREN'T CREATED FOR COMPETITIVE SPORTS" 🤣
I read in 2007 it was likely due to higher testosterone levels. a) those with high testosterone are more likely to be athletic, b) those who are athletic through developmental years can develop even higher testosterone. The study was done on mostly white male British football athletes. And it found the same conclusions you listed above. Most of these men were younger than 35, but had the sperm motility of the average 60 year old man. But then some studies blew part of it out of the water showcasing that many African American male athletes have really high _estrogen_ levels and lower testosterone as compared to, say, the Chelsea team. Heh. But now, I'm wondering, how do these athletes fare with their sperm? Jeez, if only I could be a researcher, I'd be on that. ... Don't Google search "african american athletes sperm". There's some weird eugenics kinda stuff WTF (But do Google search it if you'd like to join me in my horror.)
There's also the tight underwear and pants/trousers that many modern men are wearing. Body temperature is a bad temperature for sperm. That's why male gonads dangle. Men and women literally NEED to trade "traditional" garments- women get the support of pants/trousers, men get the skirts. The Scottish and Irish traditionally wear the correct garments for all men!
Wonder what would happen if someone tried to argue to these weirdos that once a kid gets their period they're now adult enough to consent to gender reassignment surgery. Somehow I don't think that would fly with them.
I was born intersex and raised AFAB. I never had a period ever, yet everyone assumed I did because "female". Pretty sure I didn't go through a full puberty until I started testosterone hormone therapy in my 30s.
wow, i dont know much about how it feels to be intersex (so sorry if my wording sounds a little odd) but that must be quite a weird feeling experience having ppl assume things about your body like that.

@@hyunjinies_dumpling It's interesting, to say the least. In some ways it's no different than the assumption made about every person. I absolutely HATE the notion that leg hair is gross. The first time I shaved, my legs felt so weird under the covers and I hated it, so I didn’t want to shave. However, my older sisters and especially my mom would look at my hairy legs and say that it was gross and I needed to shave. Shaving is much more time consuming with very hairy legs, which was annoying, and every time I had to sleep uncomfortably because in my bud for days after. tldr: I really don’t like it when people say leg hair is gross.
My mom has called my leg hair gross, but has never said a word about her husband’s. It’s simply a societal double standard with no real logic behind it: leg hair is the same thing irregardless of the sex/gender of the person it’s on. It’s only called gross on women because society teaches us it is.
@@Cr3Ek_l0v3R Yeah, I was still a bit self-conscious about mine right until just a couple years ago in my early twenties and it just stopped bothering me that little bit still. I saw a video where some guys tried a period pain simulator and were doubling over on pain. Then they got one of the women on their crew to try it and she said it wasn’t even that bad and she regularly came into work with worse cramps

some underwear have pockets! but they're not for storing anything. It's a flap of fabric on the crotch called a "gusset". It helps with structural integrity, since it's the narrowest part of the underwear, breathability, and keeping discharge from leaking through underwear. I think more expensive underwear tend to have it. I get the cheap shit that comes in a 6-pack, so I rarely see it.
Yeah, I don’t think the pocket is in the area in the photo. In the underwear that I buy that happen to have the pocket, it is in the narrowest part of the underwear, seeming to confirm your explanation of the pocket.
I think it depends on the brand. I have bought cheep underwear that didn’t have a “pocket” was definitely had more than 1 layer of fabric there. But now that you mention it yeah, that makes sense
When I was little, I thought that it was so you could stuff cloth or toilet paper incase you had excess discharge ahah, but yeah, my understanding is that it's just an extra layer to keep discharge from going through. Still don't understand why one side is left open though. It definitely varies, like some have both ends closed which makes more sense to me.
Certain religions support the idea that people whose age is still in single digits are adult enough for certain activities that they're not psychologically or emotionally developed enough for, regardless of what their bodies are doing. It's a sick world, A VERY SICK WORLD!
I asked my biology teacher about that one time in secondary school, out of curiousity and she told me your equipment is up and running but you need to grow several years older before you could actually use it. At age 10, the birth canal is too narrow to support giving birth and would end up, mostly likely killing the child and its mother which is why they tend to wait til the girl is older(ideally I'd say at least 18+ plus) to give the body time to grow bigger and space things out evenly inside. Just because your equipment is on, dosn't mean its ready to use yet.
@@starscreamthecruel8026 There is a difference between reasonably safe and an ideal situation, though. And individual persons can and do develop differently to varying extents, so what is okay for one might be rather risky for another. Nutrition and diet can affect these things too.
@StudiousBizyMike Except that we really don't know have any data on how human development might have differed in the past. We can only speculate. Nor can we be completely certain what the full impact might be of growing up in an industrial or post-industrial society. Never mind dealing with pressures and concerns that would be entirely foreign to a hunter-gather or agrarian society. E.g. How does being subjected to over 12 years of formal education in a classroom setting where you spend 6-8+ hours having to sit still and listen affect your "brain and psychosocial development"? I'm not saying that the standards we currently have are necessarily wrong, but they may only be correct in the western world of recent history. I don't think we should be defining some absolute model of how humans develop and function based on less than 500 years of data and probably fewer than 100 years of modern medical science.
@StudiousBizyMike I don't know why you read it as confrontational. But it is annoying that a lot of people take a little bit of "science" and run with it, acting like we know everything there is to know.
The whole "women generally don't have hair on their legs" thing probably stems from the fact that we're *so* conditioned to seeing smooth, shaved legs (and armpits) because female hair removal is a huge industry, at least in the west, that I think some people genuinely forget that body hair is *completely natural* regardless of sex. It reminds me of that female video game character with a *miniscule* amount of peach fuzz that attracted some negative attention a while back.

AFAB sewist and fashion enjoyer here. The "pocket" in the underwear came about because it's nice to have an extra layer of fabric in the crotch of the underwear for absorbing sweat and small amounts of discharge. In mass market clothing, they often leave one seam unsewn, creating a "pocket" there. They do this because it's an economy of scale thing. When you're sewing one pair, not sewing one tiny seam doesn't really make a difference in how long it takes, but when you're sewing ten thousand pairs, those few seconds really add up. Basically they can do it faster and cheaper by leaving a seam unfinished.
I thought it was to make it easier to clean that bit since water can get in between the layers, but of course they really only do that for production efficiency
They seem to wilfully forget that apart from the reproductive aspect there's general physical maturity to consider. If menstruation starts years before the body is actually developed, that person isn't fit to bear a child. Never mind the mental development that also needs to take place. Strangely nobody says of an 11 yr old boy who just had his first nocturnal emission that he's now 'man enough' to be a father.
Or the rare case that people as young as 4 years old have gotten periods before just makes it seem like men are looking for excuses to be attracted to young people and not get called out. Smh, this is why I love women.
It is very disgusting and alludes to pedophilia. I wouldn’t be surprised if over 50% of the high mortality rate from childbirth was because little children had to give birth to a ‘child’ (which would have been half their size) and the other half was women giving birth every 10-11 months until their body gives out…
It's really weird... People are aggressively advertised to wear shape changing compression clothing... and then complain about Binders and Tucking. At least we, as a community, are acutely aware about the potential harms of over compression. A hard 8 hour time limit was one of the first things I learned about binding. Are such rules encouraged about wearing those other compression fashion...?
The "my periods stopped after my boyfriend had the vaccine" one is clearly just menopause (specifically, the early stage where periods haven't completely stopped, just some are skipping, which is called perimenopause)

Yeah, basic biology is that things are never that simple, ever, as those typ of people try to make it! Sex never was binary, whatever we are talking snails, sex changing fish, or the giant spectrum of intersex in humans... Nobody with any clue about biology buys the bs those people sprout
I don’t think there is such thing as “basic biology” to begin with. Most (if not all) topics that would be considered “biology” are quite complicated and to simplify it would require you to alter the topic
@thatonearoace what people are calling basic biology is really Intro to Biology, which is what is taught in high-school and the first year of college. Biology is so complicated and diverse that really the only people who ever study beyond the Intro phase are people getting their degree in one of the fields of biology.

Ive always found people who espouse that saying to be repugnant and try to cut them out of my life as fast as possible. Its just gross that people think that way.
When trying to explain the vital importance of older women to a society I often use orcas as an analogy. Orca pods are matriarchal, and female orcas can live up to 90 years so they are very good at remembering good feeding areas and teaching young whales to survive. Not all orcas gather in these pods but where they do, the presence of older females in the pod has been linked to lower mortality rates among the calves. I've always felt very strongly that the same is true for humans, not even just with old women but any old person being a potential passer-on of knowledge and a valuable assistant in childcare. I don't get why that's so hard for these knuckleheads to understand.
Jared Diamond talks about this in his Why Sex is Fun? Book that one tribe had a 90 year old woman who survived a previous natural disaster and knew what to do if another one happened. He surmised this is why you get menopause to ensure the survival of women into old age.

The underwear "pocket" they're referring to is the gusset lining. Many underwear makers don't sew one end shut and I genuinely have no idea if there's a reason other than efficiency and saved thread, but you're definitely not supposed to sandwich the pad in there and bleed through the lining onto the pad. That defeats the purpose of the pad.
@melissabarrett9750 If people are having irritation to their pad then they should change the brand of pad they're using, putting some fabric over it isn't enough, it shouldn't be in their underwear full stop.

10:34 Fun fact: a German News Format actually fact-checked the urachus thing recently and interviewed an urologist for that. He said the urachus usually closes after birth, but in very rare cases (about 3 in a million) that doesn't fully work. In that case it is possible that some drops of liquid CAN come out of the belly button. But that wouldn't be urin but a liquid that's made in the urachus. And IF it stays COMPLETELY open (which is even more rare!), theoretically urin COULD come out of it, but only a few drops, no real peeing. Also if it's completely open, it also would have to be operated.
as a cis woman I have hairy arms and legs and don't shave them - much hairier than some cis guys I know. Like bro god forbid you had complications or had a c section so you have to rest from birth and growing a whole human in your body while also healing from YOUR STOMACH MUSCLES BEING CUT you can’t work out after surgery like that. People are ridiculous also pregnancy in general fundamentally changes the human body, like a lot of people who give birth have something different about them for like, ever. Some women find out they developed larger breasts overall that don’t go back, some have a permanent bit of stomach, some have more noticeable hips, some develop diabetes from pregnancy even if they didn’t do anything that could contribute to the development of that, pregnancy is just a whole wild ass thing and so much happens that no one talks about. I’ve heard of women losing TEETH while pregnant it’s actually crazy. The human body is weird!!! We are not cookie cutter!!!

15:16 that belly belt is actually meant to help support the belly in pregnancy and then help your body adjust back to normal after the baby is born. Because after you have the baby there is a lot of empty space while your organs and muscles are going back to their original position and your uterus shrinks back to its normal size. It just makes it so it doesn't feel like your organs are sloshing around inside your body. It also helps prevent umbilical hernias in the muscles.

This video made me wonder, why is the term “dad bod/body” almost always used positively but when someone has a “Mom bod/body” it is viewed as “gross” or “lazy”??
Whenever I see or hear "basic biology," I think of that SpongeBob cartoon episode 'Rock Bottom' where he says, "This isn't your ordinary darkness. This is... ADVANCED darkness."
When I was complaining to my doctor of the problems I've been having with my feet recently, one of the things he looked at was the growth of hair on my legs just above the ankle as an indicator of circulatory adequacy. If your legs stop growing hair without good reason, see your doctor.
About the anti-vacc dummy, in October 2018, I started my period, and it didn't stop until September 2020. That's 23 months of continuous bleeding, sometimes our uterus just goes fuck you and does random shit. I did obviously get it checked out by a gynaecologist. The issue is still not resolved, but I'm hoping to get a hysterectomy soon, I'm 36 now.
Mine did that too, not the same time frame but the same rebellion. I almost fainted several times and by the time it stopped, 6 months later I still couldn't donate blood cause I was still low on iron. I got that thing removed and have zero regrets. Well, one regret, I didn't get it done sooner. Good luck.
@nannywhumpers5702 Thank you! Obviously, I'm sorry you went through the same thing, but I'm so happy for you it was only 6 months. My iron still hasn't sorted it's self out because I'm medically unable to get iron infusions and tablets.
Fun fact, the milk glands in almost all mammals, including humans, are essentially very specialized sweat glands. The distinction developed over the course of millions of years of evolution, along with the development of the nipple. One of the only mammals that did not get this evolutionary trait is the platypus, the weird ancient creatures they are. Female platypi still sweat out the milk they feed their young. Nature is amazing.
I've loved this fun fact for a while 'cause it means that cheese is technically fermented sweat. & with fermentation being a form of cultivated or positive rot in its most basic terms, I have no reason not to enjoy yogurt, cheddar or parmesan.
Riiiight? And I can also attest to how unshaven legs unfortunately also will not keep men from hitting on us while we're just minding our business bon the way between place A and B. So at least I can spare myself trouble and costs and those stupid single ingrowing hairs. Feminist men won't be bothered by hair and I don't want a misogynist in my proximity, leaving my legs unshaven is not just comfort but also a fast track to filtering candidates for long-term partnerships.
My grandmother once told me that I should dress “modest” because I should leave some up to the imagination. She also keeps bringing things up like how giving birth was one of her greatest joys and she wants me to be able to have the same experience. For the most part they may seem like harmless comments but I’m pretty sure the reason is because she’s trying to find ways to disapprove of my wonderful boyfriend who happens to be trans. She keeps misgendering him and won’t even let him in the house. I love my grandma but the least she could do is keep her mouth shut and her opinions to herself.
Well your grandma was likely raised at a particular time or in a particular way, so perhaps only certain joys were open to her, & she's afraid of you missing out. But you're not living her life & there are so many more choices & joys open to you. Plus maybe you will enjoy birth at some point, there's no reason you couldn't with your trans friend, do they realise this? Then again other people don't want children & don't find them a joy, they just don't talk about it as much because people shame you for not enjoying your children. But it's far better for you to work out if you want them first, rather than just having them because someone else liked it, if you don't realise you don't want them till after then you'll be stuck & not everyone learns to love their children.
This is really sad and frustrating to have a person like her in your life since... unless they have really harmed you, you tend to love your family. But also and I'm sorry if this sounds insensitive; I imagined "won't even let him in the house" like your bf would just be sitting out in the rain like a sad puppy in a cartoon 🤣
I would really struggle to love a grandmother who won't even let my partner into her home. She's a pernicious bigot who thinks that your only qualifiable claim to womanhood is giving birth 😢
The human race is utterly dependent on women over 30...who do you think is doing the majority of housework and childcare while bringing in a second income? 🙄 (Nevermind their professional and wider contributions which are also invaluable.)
Women are valuable and worthy of life because they exist. Work doesn’t equal value. Everyone alive is worthy of respect. I think some badly damaged guy without a Mum, and possibly Gay, wrote that post. No woman wrote it. I think it’s a guy who has never loved a single female. He’s very sad, and should not be taken any notice of. Women certainly don’t need to justify themselves.
25:52 I'm an artist and this is bullpoop, limiting yourself to "mens are sharp boxes, woman are curby hourglasses" will only stifle your growth as an artist, bodies of any gender come in all shapes and sizes! That's part of the fun, at least for me, i love that my characters are all varied in shapes, round, squared, thin, muscular and anything in between and beyond! Variety in body types is very important, same body syndrome is worse than same face syndrome imo Also what the op of that post said is untrue, I've see a lot of people in my life and *very* few have fit those shapes, I've seen more pear shaped men and rectangular woman than square dorito men and hourglass chicks, those body shapes are kinda just stereotypes in my experience
Wait wait wait, 16:12 is this crazy person proposing the world should be dominated by single fathers who are doing all the child rearing after woman fulfilled their duty of birthing and maybe breastfeeding?!
I’m thinking they figure that we’d have the kids by 20 and then rear them into adulthood by 40, and then we’d not be needed and men could go impregnate other women and start the cycle over again.
i got my period at 11 years old. definitely not a full grown woman (especially now 🏳️⚧️), and definitely still a child. if someone says “getting your period for the first time means you’re now a woman”, it’s just factually wrong, considering the age range of puberty. (and if it’s a conservative cis man saying it? then it might just be a major red flag.)
2:57 ooh! I know why! It’s because she’s 45 years old and it is completely normal for perimenopausal people with no history of irregular menstrual cycles to miss periods for months at a time as they approach menopause. In fact, a person is not medically considered to have reached menopause until 12 months after their last period.
I'm a cis woman and I have 1 single dark hair that grows on the bottom left side of my chin (it only started growing when I got a scar there so I guess that's why lol) cis women 100% have facial hair, idk where these insane men got their info
I'm agender and I have facial hair. But mine is darker and noticeable. I had a dude ask for my pic online. I sent one. Because I'm AFAB, his response was, "Facial hair?"
90% of women have peach fuzz. Fully normal. Gets worse if you are underweight though, and if you have certain issues the hair might be more and more visible. Know women with PCOS who shave their face.
14:20 Some women have endometriosis. It is very painful and too often undiagnosed for years. Yet, those women are expected to carry on in work and daily life.
14:05 I have really bad period cramps. Otc painkillers make them just kind of barely manageable. I spent so many years forcing myself to push through the pain and continue functioning every month that my perception of and reaction to general pain has changed. Just sort of a stubborn "I CANNOT and WILL NOT let this thing stop me" kind of mindset. I'm much more likely to force myself to ignore something that hurts until it goes away, than I am to actually tell anyone about it or do anything about it.
19:45 I have seen an underwear with pocket like this meant for a small warming pad (the liquid-filled kind in which you break the piece of metal and it gets warm). Probably it's supposed to be used for period pain relieve, my ex gf used warming bottles and that helped her a lot, so this may be a similar concept.
Yes the fact that you googled whether embryos are nourished by menstrual blood is really funny, but also I genuinely really appreciate you keeping that bit in the video. It makes me even more confident than I already was that, if you're stating something as fact, it's not just because you assume it's true. @@diarmuidkuhle8181 it doesn't lol, that's why I appreciate him looking it up anyways; even though it's stupid, he still wanted to be 100% sure before he stated something as fact. If your period pain is debilitating, there is something medically wrong. Yes, periods hurt. But not that much! If you take painkillers and still can’t get up, seek out a gynaecologist ASAP, and don’t take “everything is normal” for an answer without some serious medical investigation first. Your period SHOULD NOT leave you bedridden!
But some people’s do! You can go to the gynecologist, they can check every single thing, run all the tests, and find nothing wrong! 45 y/o woman who missed her period for 4 months is probably starting pre-menopause. My mom is 52 and has been going through pre-menopause/menopause for the last 4-5 years. It's legitimately like a second puberty for ciswomen. She keeps thinking she has finally had her last period only for it to show up every two weeks after a 4 month break. If only doctors would do a better job of preparing ciswomen for what to expect when they hit the age threshold for menopause. Not to mention that menopause seems to be even more of a taboo subject than periods, so mothers and grandmothers never really talk about their experiences with their younger female family members.
I'm 53 and finally period free. But you are so right about not really knowing what to expect from menopause beforehand, even with my best efforts to get some information. Especially how many years it takes to be sure you're really done with it and don't need contraceptives anymore - I heard quite some stories of women thinking they can't get pregnant anymore and it happened anyway. Or things like mood swings, getting all teary for minor reasons, which never happened to me when I was younger.
After having a baby the belly band helps the muscles come back together and can help prevent a permanent abdominal muscle separation I’m honestly debating if I’m going to end up needing the surgery to fix it because it’s physically makes my core strength training to help with my hyper mobility harder and the physical theropist mentioned it would also help in preventing me from getting an umbilical hernia again.
One of the most problematic things about "If you have periods you are a woman" is that people that can get periods sometimes have them very young. Periods = Woman is not protecting femininity its putting kids at risk of sh*tty laws and people and practices. Edit: Wrote this before Jammie made the comment 😂
On a lot of women’s underwear there is a “pocket” in the gusette. It doesn’t have a purpose, it’s just cheaper to not sew all 4 seam around the extra fabric on the gusette.

I started my period when I was in primary school, nowhere near being a woman yet. Also, the text in the picture with the bride is in basque, it just says: Josune: there is a man beside. Oskar: that's Iñigo, Martin's brother. I got very excited when I saw that because it is a language spoken in such a small region of Spain and France.
I once saw an Instagram real where a guy asked the question: "Why dont woman just donate blood from their periods ?" I know reals are known for being terrible but bro 😭😭😭
@@Streetcleanergaming Well, a majority of the mensural blood is internal uterine tissue, which is less "blood" and more hormonally dense mucus & vascular tissue. That, & by the time its leaving the tract its less fresh than what you can tap from a vein.
6:48 "I'm a cis woman and I don't shave my face!!" OK? Good for you I guess? However, a lot of women do! Heck, before I started my transition, I ended up just straight up shaving my moustache off because plucking it was a nightmare and took forever. Well, now I still have to shave it every other day, but that's because right now I prefer the clean shaven look :) Especially as the rest of my beard is slowly coming in. I wasn't expecting my facial hair to develop as fast as it has, but it's a pleasant surprise! One year on T, and the changes I've gone through have been amazing :D It's also been rather amazing to go from being incredibly self-conscious and insecure about my facial and body hair to loving it wholeheartedly. I went from hating the tiny happy trail I had to loving my hairy stomach. That's been such a liberating thing for me. Getting T really was life changing :D Also, to anyone who identifies as a woman, I do need to tell y'all: do not worry about your facial hair or body hair. Please, don't make the same mistakes I did growing up. I know how dysphoric/dysmorphic it can be, but try to be gentle with yourself. I know how easy it can be to obsess over it, to become paranoid about it. You're not any less of a woman for your body and facial hair, and you're no less valid for it. Nor are you less beautiful for it. You are stunning with or without it, and I wish you all the love. And please, be careful and gentle with yourself. You deserve it.
On the unfeasibly narrow waists on the cargo pants: I don't know, but I'd want to look behind to see if the waist-band is being cinched in on the mannequins with bulldog clips or the like. This is something fashion photographers do all the time. It's rare for clothes to fit the models perfectly, so they all get adjusted to look utterly perfect; if there isn't a seamstress handy to sew them tight, the photographer will do it the quick and dirty way with clips and parcel-tape around the side not visible to the camera.
4:03 Got my period at 11. Also read a book in middle school for class about a culture where a period meant womanhood, and as soon as a girl got one she had to be married to have kids. Let’s not define womanhood by periods, let’s just let people be please.

Regarding underwear pockets: there is a structural part of many underwear patterns called a gusset. For non breathable fabric underwear, that's the little piece that's made of cotton. It's there to help things breathe down there and to reinforce the crotch section. Some manufacturers don't secure all edges of the gusset to the fabric. Some claim it aids breathability but in reality it's probably just cheaper to not sew that seam. So the pocket is a manufacturing shortcut. On a related note, I know of at least one underwear company that makes period underwear by only securing the gusset to the rest of the garment in the front and back. This makes it compatible with winged pads even with boxer briefs. The "floating gusset" is also made extra absorbent so the pad is optional.
About the underwear pocket!!!! They were referring to the lined gusset. The crotch is Usually usually two layers versus the rest of the panty being one layer. This extra layer of fabric is stitched on 3 sides creating a little "pocket". It isn't for storing items right in front of the vulva like the crazies claim. It's only stitched on 3 sides to prevent the material for bunching from fabric shrinkage. Leaving one edge free allows the two layers to move somewhat independently and prevent an uncomfortable, uneven seam that would be unpleasant for the wearer.
The "panty pocket" bit was about extra layer of fabric on the inside. It's for hygiene purposes (catches nonmenstrual discharge). Haven't heard reason why it's open from one end, besides finacial/labour effiency.
i never understood why people could think women can't grow body hair. the existence of shaving razors being marketed towards women immediately disproves this...
because in the ads, the models are using a razor on an already-bare leg! Clearly they're just doing it for funsies
This. This has always baffled me.
You would also think that they would eventually have encountered a woman with leg hair, underarm hair, or even a tiny bit of facial hair.
Must have been living under a rock the whole time.

@Cr3Ek_l0v3R sadly, that's exactly what it is. Even now people think like this😢
@marythewinter In 2012, now deceased Missouri state representative Todd Akin basically said the same thing via his infamous "legitimate rape" claim in response to why he opposed rape exceptions for abortion: that "if it's a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that thing down."
Wikipedia stated this:
"The term "legitimate rape" was called "loathsome" because it suggests that "there are different categories of rape - some real and awful and others that are not".

Your body changes when you experience pregnancy and childbirth, and those changes cannot be undone. Sperm count: A decrease in the number of sperm
Sperm quality: A decrease in sperm concentration and the percentage of normal and motile sperm
Sperm DNA: An increase in reactive oxygen species (ROS) that can damage sperm DNA

Most of these men were younger than 35, but had the sperm motility of the average 60 year old man.

@@hyunjinies_dumpling Yep. I'm AFAB (agender, they/them), and I had periods, but I couldn't have kids. People assumed that because I was female, I should be able to reproduce.
I bet they have eyebrows. Wonder if they think thise are gross too.
I really wanna know why it's gross tho.... Like.... Men have leg hair and nobody calls them gross... ya know?
My mom has called my leg hair gross, but has never said a word about her husband’s. It’s simply a societal double standard with no real logic behind it: leg hair is the same thing irregardless of the sex/gender of the person it’s on. It’s only called gross on women because society teaches us it is.

some underwear have pockets! but they're not for storing anything.
Yep, it's not really a pocket, it's extra fabric for soakage 😅. It's right down there. The idea that you'd store anything in it is wild!

Wait, that's a thing that happens?
@sheersternfeld1914 Yes, it's called menorrhagia.

"Im a middle aged woman, could I be going through a menopause? impossible, it must be cos he got the vaccine."
she has such a leap of logic.
my sister who is a history nerd told me about reserch which is talking about the fact that the whole "hair on women" thing mainly stems from raceism.
No Suprise There. A lot of the crap we deal with now has its source in racism or bigotry of some sort.
Chronically ill cis woman here who cannot be arsed to shave my legs. Uses up way too much energy.
Sorry you have to deal with that from her.
@@madhatterline Yes I agree. I think people like her just tend to think about things based only on their own experiences rather than using logic.
18:48 The thing is that there’s virtually no muscle in the breasts. It’s mostly fat, veins, and milk ducts.
Variety in body types is very important, same body syndrome is worse than same face syndrome imo
Also what the op of that post said is untrue, I've see a lot of people in my life and *very* few have fit those shapes, I've seen more pear shaped men and rectangular woman than square dorito men and hourglass chicks, those body shapes are kinda just stereotypes in my experience
I got my period in gr 6. No I was still a child. That is sooooo dangerous to call a child a woman when in fact...they are not
Wait wait wait, 16:12 is this crazy person proposing the world should be dominated by single fathers who are doing all the child rearing after woman fulfilled their duty of birthing and maybe breastfeeding?!
I’m thinking they figure that we’d have the kids by 20 and then rear them into adulthood by 40, and then we’d not be needed and men could go impregnate other women and start the cycle over again.
17:20 Nah, this is 100% a Tate fanboy LARPing as a woman.
It feels like we are losing all the progress that was made in America
Unfortunately yes.
We are, because the reichwing is trying to repeal the entire 20th Century.
i got my period at 11 years old. definitely not a full grown woman (especially now 🏳️⚧️), and definitely still a child. if someone says “getting your period for the first time means you’re now a woman”, it’s just factually wrong, considering the age range of puberty. (and if it’s a conservative cis man saying it? then it might just be a major red flag.)
Yeah a girl who used to go to my school got hers at nine. She was not a woman at nine. She was a child.
Anyone saying it belongs on a watch list, like "no, the age of consent isn't whatever your first period is you Epsteinian sand worm."
My sister got her period at 8 years old. She was in elementary school. It sounds like excuse for PDFfiles, which is disgusting
2:57 ooh! I know why!
It’s because she’s 45 years old and it is completely normal for perimenopausal people with no history of irregular menstrual cycles to miss periods for months at a time as they approach menopause. In fact, a person is not medically considered to have reached menopause until 12 months after their last period.
4:00 I started my period at 7. I was NOT a woman

7:07 My cis sister literally has facial hair. It's very faint, but it's there.
I’m afab and grow a few beard(?) hairs with the peach fuzz! (Sadly I haven’t been able to grow a proper mustache 😔)
These guys haven't seen a woman in their lives, or they forgot
4:36 it's basque. It says. Josune: there's a boy next door. Oskar: it's Iñigo, Martin's brother.
It also stands as a good reminder to be careful of confirmation bias, which is always a good thing to be reminded of
How does that even make sense on the face of it. If menstruation is happening, by definition there can't be an embryo.
@@diarmuidkuhle8181 it doesn't lol, that's why I appreciate him looking it up anyways; even though it's stupid, he still wanted to be 100% sure before he stated something as fact. God knows I have some idiotic google searches where I'm double checking basic knowledge so I don't accidentally get it wrong and make a fool of myself
Someone individuals genuinely just get the most evil periods, and doctors just prescribe them stronger pain killers. It’s weird and annoying but it’s true!
-Sincerely someone who spent $2,500 on gynecological testing to find nothing wrong
@@thedoodleverseartYes, I personally went to doctor and got things checked, nothing was wrong and I just got prescribed painkillers and birth control pills. I think it's genetic, my mom and sister have the exact same issues
@@thedoodleverseart that’s why I added the caveat of “without some serious medical testing”. If the doctors genuinely can’t find something that could be causing the pain despite having tried everything, then that’s a very different circumstance from a flack who can’t even be bothered to consider the possibility that something COULD be wrong.
@@Munchkin.Of.Pern09 Well yes but fear mongering period pain isn’t good either :( There’s a happy medium somewhere I’m sure.
@@thedoodleverseart Considering the rate at which women’s gynaecological pain is dismissed (EIGHT YEARS average wait time for an Endo diagnosis!!!), I figure it’s better to air on the side of awareness and self-advocacy.
Or things like mood swings, getting all teary for minor reasons, which never happened to me when I was younger.
hi i'm almost 3 weeks on t now! the first month is over pretty soon!
Yay, happy for you!

im on week 2 as of yesterday!
Congrats!

When i was high school a girl said my hair legs should get shave becuse make me look like a guy and i said '' oh...cool i a guy then'' Now i am trans so lol i cameout without know in high school no know i was tans back then
🩵🩷🤍🩷🩵
When they sew down the cotton crotch in underpants they sometimes only sew 3 sides. That's what they're referring to as a pocket. It's not a pocket.
Jamie your entire life is such an inspiration for me. I’m a Transfemme so there are some differences, but the fact you’ve found people who love you in so many places along with your success makes me hopeful.
Edit: And thank you for being willing to put yourself out there.
Oh dear...😂
Conversely, a woman proposed a study involving period blood but one of the male reviewers said it should be rejected because…ick.
I know basically nothing about exactly why that's not something that you can do but I know that's not something you can do.
@@ruthspanos2532 I remember something about adult stem-cell collection from period cups on Scishow once, I don't know if its at all related.
Getting T really was life changing :D
Also, to anyone who identifies as a woman, I do need to tell y'all: do not worry about your facial hair or body hair.
@SiLLyLiL_GuY Exacctllyy. And you just know these peeps won’t bother to help people with endometriosis or other conditions either. They just want control and rigid definitions.
3:55 Nah because I was literally 8 😭😭
There's a similar subreddit called "not how girls work" that you might also enjoy. I used to frequent both of them, but eventually I couldn't follow them anymore because I felt depressed being constantly reminded that those are all real people who vote on issues of women's healthcare, haha

4:15 This makes me so angry! If giving birth three times to a 3 to 4 kg child doesn't make you looser, no ammount of other stuff will!
Try 4 1/2
