  • Riichi Mahjong is a game of chance, of hope, of plunging your soul into darkness to destroy your opponents...and it's free to play :)
Check out Mahjong Soul in your browser, on iOS, or on Android! My name is Yusong Liu, and this is a Let's Play series where we try to climb the ranks, have some banter, and chase those elusive Yakuman hands. Currently, we're playing in the Jade Room!

You might have encountered Riichi Mahjong in the Yakuza series, by watching the Akagi or Saki anime, or you might have seen your favorite VTubers from Hololive or Nijisanji playing. The rules are virtually identical whether you're playing in Yakuza, FFXIV, Mahjong Soul, Tenhou, or Riichi City.

on the south 1 round - I would have richii'd as you're about to become dealer. while playing from second place, you're lined up to try and steal your way into first!

Learned a bit and got introduced to Riichi som eyears ago and still love the game, but never good at strategy so this Post game etc is very very useful!

damn, that first hand would have been closer to all simples if you swapped the pair of 9s to a pair of 6s and look to discard the other 9. meaning you could've opened the hand if needed and still get decent points with the Dora you were hiding

28:10 - For that first round, the player was also in furiten - they'd discarded a 3sou earlier. Probably another reason why they didn't call riichi!
39:05 - For the last round as well, the player to your right went in to temporary furiten since they couldn't win off of the 9man discard (no yaku) - lucky for them that the white dragon came out in a different round from that 9man discard, or they wouldn't have been able to ron off of it.

You don't seem to give much value to 357 or similar shapes.
Game around 12 minutes you drew 1 to add to 357 and you tossed the 1 away right away. Seemed like a poor choice as having 1357 gives a lot of tiles you can draw.

I've seen only one time, an M-League Pro call a late round riichi, and she lost the hand. Not a fan, IMO..

There is nothing nc 17 about the game
