  • Documentary on the making of Thunderbirds & all the other worlds of Gerry Anderson. Featuring interviews with Gerry Anderson, Ed Bishop, Francis Matthews, Christine Glanville & Derek Meddings. Edited by myself back in 1992 to a radio documentary from the 1980's. I made it in between my college course in TV/Video Production. Edited on VHS.

Captain Scarlet and Joe 90 was awesome. Great theme tunes too.

I was brought up on all this.Gerry fired our nascent infantile imaginations.
Thanks to all our childhood heroes, both puppet and human.-Gerry, Ed, Derek M and all that creative fusion of talents involved in Cetury 21 Productions. Thanks for this great documentary:- avaluable testament. --really does it justice.

My opinion here might be unpopular but I liked Captain Scarlet much more then Thunderbirds. It was a lot darker I loved how it had a lot more about and Captain Black gave me nightmares as a kid lol.

I like how there's now only a James Bond connection through Derek Meddings who worked on the model work for both medias, but that James Bond star Roger Moore commented on the fact that Captain Scarlet looked like him.

Wow - I would have never guessed this was made from a radio documentary. Also, the content is sheer bliss.

Much loved and sadly missed. It's right we should celebrate people like Gerry Anderson who added so much to the sum happiness of the world.

That particular episode of CS, 'Winged Assassin', was removed from the BBC2 schedule the week after 9/11.

Personally, I enjoyed the live-action programs as much as the Supermarionation. Space 1999 tapered off towards the end, but, I would have loved to see more of U.F.O., I was surprised to here of their problems.
Always enjoyed The Protectors, but, did not know till recently it was one of his shows. I enjoyed Space Precinct, partly because it was a unique idea, typical of Gerry Anderson, but, sadly cut short. If you do not mind, I will add to my page. :)

Hi from Australia, this was an awesome few years of TV thanks to Gerry and team. This is a great 2 part documentary. Well done. Thunderbirds take the honours due to the amazing machines. Interesting that even today you still watch without really noticing that they are puppets because of the skill and creativity of the model makers. Just brilliant........

UFO was the best TV show ever made by humans, nothing else comes close to it.

The UFO music at 5:25 and 7:07 is noticeably different to how it sounded on the final cut. Was this due to you editing the sound and slowing it down, or did you get the sound from an earlier version of the soundtrack? Wherever it came from - I like it! Sounds more punchy than the normal version... Thanks very much for uploading the videos - thoroughly enjoyed them.

My late father had a friend who worked on all the original editing, he was more than just that, helped create many of the products to look and feel like they do - as soon as he approached Anderson for a fair cut of the pie after the success started - having taken a small contract, so they could get the thing off the ground Anderson shit all over him and sent him packing - love the programmes, but from what I gather he was not nice

Empires were never built on being nice, it's always the unknowns who help erect pyramids for famous kings to sleep in, sorry to hear that Dan
