The Romans were defeated by the Germans due to an internal weakness, originating from the disintegration of the economic interdependence between their provinces. The economic and social structure of the empire had already become medieval before its fall. From a military perspective, the tribes that invaded the empire in the 4th and 5th centuries were not superior to the armies that the legions had easily defeated in previous times.
@@GustavoHenrique-tw8pj firstly incorrect. the tribes that invaded the empire in the 4th and 5th centuries had better armour, equipment and training than earlier tribes. many were litterally useing roman arms, armour and tactics. secondly, no the empire had not already become medieval before its fall. the reformations by the barbarians that created medieval europe were an improvement over roman social and ecconomic structure, according to both archeological eviedence and primary sources written by romans themselves. your are half right that the romans were defeated due to internal weakness, but the weakness was not caused by the disintegration of the ecconomic interdependance, that was just another symptom of the actual internal weakness that also caused the primary destruction of their fighting capability: politcal infighting and corruption. the east survived longer because the move to nova roma forced a new elite class to form, and thus an earlier stage of corruption, but it had the same cultural weakness inhereted from the orginal system and so fell in the same way.
@@matthiuskoenig3378 Thanks for the clarification, but there are ancient accounts of individuals in the Roman Empire moving to rural areas due to the disruption of food supply chains.
Maginot line have done it work it was build for prevent a german invasion the plan was to fight in belgium but in the 30' belgian have say the were neutral
not really, the maginot was obsolete, the germans would have brocken through it anyway, infact they did. its a myth they just went around it. some of their units went around it, others simply went through it and it was barely an obsticle because the germans had the means to negate it and plenty of time to scout it out and thus knew its weaknesses. had they needed to breakthrough more of it then the fact they broke through it easily would simply be more well known.
