You said it all at the very beginning "the reward you get when it's all done" it's like the gift that keeps on giving weather your riding it or just looking at it, I like it so much I drove to Seattle from NorCal to pickup my friends 99 ATK 260LQ and completely restored it to better than new with suspension upgrades and a RK Tek recut head, I can't wait to give it back to my friend, we haven't ridden together for 20 years and this all comes from restoring a dirt bike, talk about much more to something than meets the eye, I love dirt bikes.
Nice. Hell I still ride my 2004 300EXC, never had the motor out of the frame. Top ends from time to time, never had to touch the bottom. Forks seals and valving to get her to how I like her. She only ever raced 3 seasons, but I still think that's good. Still pulls like hell, starts first or second kick. I am in my 50s now, I don't see a reason to get another bike. Maybe one day when I think she's getting to shot out I will do what you did. Mad respect.
This build helped inspire my first build this winter, a 2008 250sxf. It was in way worse condition, but followed along with your build videos as I went and it came out mint! Now its my go to daily rider, 25 hours on it and runs great. Keep up the good work, your builds inspire others!
The refresh , makes it look new again. I too started watching your channel because of the original rebuild. Thanks Rado, for keeping the great builds going. Your work is inspiring, for many of us I'm sure.
i have the same bike it's still absolutely original and is a original 300 exc 2004 model but i like that build and what you all changed on the bike it looks better and fresher than before and more modern too and these bikes are rockets and very powerful and they kick ass for sure i know mine does still on hill climbs with very little throttle
It's a sweet build and it also shows the value of an older bike. A brand new 300 is 11 thousand dollars! You can pick up an early to mid 00's 300 for 2-4 grand running. With a couple more thousand in upgrades, it's hard justifying a brand new 300 especially when that free's up budget for other motorcycles!!
@@dirtniron I don't have any social media except YT and I've not made any dirt bike videos, but when I get closer to finishing I will do a video on it and I'll send you the link.
Beautiful build and refresh video. The problem I have with rebuilding to that level cost as much as a new one. Or at least close. I picked up an '06 250xc with some premium upgrades and I plan to only fix what's needed. However, if you know your going to keep it for a long time, then do whatever make you happy.
And then once your done you can ship it to me to do a video!😜😜just kidding it would be pretty sweet to see you do the pit bike at Cahuilla track though
Picked up a 2002 KTM 300EXC in very good condition. It looks like the frame, swingarm are identical but the plastics on the side plates and rear fender are different setup than mine but I definitely prefer the setup on this build. I wonder if they are compatible???
Great video. That bike looks so good, one of the best builds you’ve done. The 300XC is probably my favorite bike. I have about 40 hours on mine and the more I ride it the more I fall in love with it. It’s the perfect trail bike and its only limit is me haha 😂. Looks like you’ve really stepped up your riding! As always, a blast to watch. 👍✌️
@@dirtniron it’s a bit of an addiction 😜. 2020 yz250x, 2019 250rx, 2015 300xc plus the new fe350 and 300xc. I recently got a beta trials bike, that is waaaay harder than it looks. All in all I love all the bikes, they each have their characteristics. Now I just need to find more time to ride!
This is a little older video but, I’m looking at a 2004 300exc and wondering if they’re still relevant today for the tight alpine of the PNW. I would miss e-start but not a deal breaker. Would you do it again?
they are fun bikes, pretty capable.. but having 2012 and 2017 specially I got spoiled.. get it if you see a really good deal, but probably better to rebuild a newer models..
I would keep old school bike and rebuild it and not buy new one I have a 2004 ktm 200 rebuilt it very rewarding to build it and see it finished . I like the older ktms better than the new ones I' am 51 old school myself lol 😀👍
Hey, man hopefully you get the time to see my comment. First of, awesome job! I’m doing the same thing with an 04 300 exc. I’m having lots of trouble finding a seat that actually sits flush to the rear fender just like yours. Did you use the same OEM seat? Or did you use an aftermarket one?
If you really want to spice up, do like I did my exc 125 2005. Powdercoat things like: Swingarm, rear shock, tripple clamps and all that I also did pegs and bars cuz I didnt want new ones
Where were you able to find a 300 cylinder? I have a 04 250sx and I want to frame it and make it a 300sx and from my understanding the 08+ cylinders are different thanks !
Now that you've done a few builds, for the next one, go all out and do a CR500 build...... the King of 2 stroke dirtbikes. you'll love it, but get medical insurance before you ride it, and don't start it without using a boot.
Real men keep old ones alive... Rock on man... Respect from Romania
right on man!
This is the build that brought me to the channel and got my subscription. It was sad to see it go.
thanks bro, appreciate it

Great to hear that David, thanks for your feedback!
Nice job. Im currently battling rebuilding a 2005 250 exc. Was in bad shape and lots to do, videos like this keep me going.
Love these generation KTMs id go with this Rado, hell of a job!
It would be a dream to own a bike like that I know it is only in my dreams

insta like as always!
Appreciate it!! thanks
Beautiful. Very similar to what I did to my 2001 300 exc . These are gorgeous bikes!!!
Yes they are!
those things never get old for me, love it, cheers from Colorado, V!

I'm working on a 2003 125 build right now. It's crazy how many things we did the same on our builds.

Glad you enjoyed it! thanks brother!
nice job! i made a 2003 yz250 into a woods bike..now im hooked on single track enduro here in southwest BC, cheers!

Nice . Once again awsome music .
thanks Jimmy, glad you like it!
Rado you should do a mini dirt bike build and then take it to cahulla track ! That would be amazing
do you mean like a pit bike?
@@dirtniron yup exactly but like the good ones that actually go really fast. They are just super small

Nice bike I like the older bikes myself im ready for fuel injection two strokes yet like my carburetors
carbs are cool ;)
I love mine. Nice work 👏
This and the yz250 projects are still my favorite builds of yours

Do you know where to get those graffics ? I recently picked up an '02 300 XC and it's all blacked out.
Left the Brembo front master? I could never get the air out of mine. Had to go with Nissin
